kwschumm - The 20 x 24 building w/ man door, 10' sidewalls & 10' x 9.5' door came in around $480 / sf last year.<br>

In hind sight, a totally metal building may have been cheaper, I don't know. But this fit my comfort level better at the time.

So I shouldn't use my 4-in-1 bucket in the open position as a dozer blade to dig / level earth?

I was just about to start leveling a driveway. Admittedly I bought the 4-in-1 for moving brush and small trees, but I thought pushing dirt was also an option.

I was even about to price adding teeth to the bucket.

Would I be better off with a box blade for heavier scraping?

Art - Thanks.

TomG - I think you misunderstand my poor discription. The FEL control is used to operate the normal front Snowblower mount (along with blade or brush etc.) the up/down movement of that mount was hooked to the Dump motion of the control. I hooked it to the Lift motion of the control to get the "float."

All - Hopefully Santa will bring me my own Digi-Cam so I can get some more pics of the things I've done to the tractor so far. Thanks again for a very useful resource!!

I just took delivery of my 7800 Saturday. Had a blast cleaning up remnants from Isabel. I just had the dealer figure out this same question (I hope he was right).<br>

I will say this if your down sizing look at a JD2210 over a JD X595 you get more tractor for the price you will pay I paid $13,721 for a JD X485 with these extras a 45loader,Limited Cat1 3point hitch,540rpm rear pto,48inch deck,hyudrostatic relife valve and diverter valve and cat1 ballest box. All of that was 12% off msrp. The JD 2210 comes with the 3point hitch, rear and mid pto's as standard equipment for $10,200 at Msrp add another $1,229 for 54inch deck or $1,599 for 62inch deck and about $2,500 for the loader for the JD2210 and it come out either cheaper or about the same price as a JDX485 with all the stuff you would have to pay extra for on the X series. So if you want to stay with JD I would look at the JD2210

I don't know anything about them but they look like the same tractor as the Chinese made Jinma and the Nortrac tractors sold by Northern Tools.

Many thanks to all. I've had some private emails with Art and especially appreciate his input and wisdom. I wish his place was a little closer, I'd love to do some business with him. Basically I agree with all of you, I think the 12K is steap for what is there.

This just in!! A dealer (wholesaler) just called me and has a new AgraCat 2920 (25hp) 4x4w/FEL and the usual stuff (NO HST but I think I can live with a manual). Look here for more info:

Price is $8500 at my door. I know this is an "off brand" and I haven't even seen it mentioned anywhere. Anyone know about them. My thinking is that for $4 or $5K I can take some chances. This isn't a pig-in-a-poke, he has one I can test drive and run around the lot in.

TerryNY2, have you checked with Miller Tire. They carry a large variety of turf tires and may be able to match the height tire you need. Maybe even some golf cart tires might work. I got a set for my F-525 that works fine. Just have to look at what ply rating you require. You may be able to find a tire distributor and get them to find a match for what you need locally as well.

In this case, tractors don't have titles like automobiles and realestate. If the tractors were not owned by the current owner free and clear; (i.e. no outstanding balance from the original sales contract) definitely sounds like a mess not worth getting involved with.

I received the Rankin 3ph pallet forks with iMatch modifications a couple of weeks ago and just got around to trying them today. And... they don't fit. It seems as if Rankin modified them for pin spacing, which seems correct, but they neglected to actually try them before shipping them.<br>

The iMatch quick-attach hitch has two swivel-out brackets that lock the bottom implement pins in place. However, the Rankin forks have supports that hit the iMatch swivel-out brackets, preventing the bottom pins from slipping into the hooks.<br>
<br>
So, if you are shopping for iMatch compatible implements let this be a heads-up that you may want to try before you buy.<br>

I'm not sure yet what we're gonna do about this but I'm sure the dealer will make it right.

Knock on wood!!! I've never seen a Bota broke with there loader on! There B-hoe units work fine on there tractors and there again they don't break.

If you're handy with a welder, or have access to someone who is, you could make up a base plate with an upright to which the tail wheel bracket could be chained.

For that matter you could make a wooden crate from 2x4's which it could be kept in for the winter.

I agree, a few hundred pounds of anything would not be the safest thing to just lean against a wall without adequate restraints.
