The wheel wells on the U-Haul are way wider than the tractor if that is what you were referring to...

I used a similar method when I moved from Alaska to Nevada. I had a 40 foot ocean-going container parked in the yard. I loaded half with all I possessed and saved the last 18 feet for the Tacoma pick-up.

Ramps.... several thicknesses of 3/4 in plywood backed by some 2x4 stringers would hold a lot of weight. but you can also use a loading dock if one is handy.... thats how the truck got on the trailer.... or a slide-back wrecker, that's how it came off.

They are all good machines with loyal owners. Don't underestimate your gut instinct. Did one dealer seem better than another, or do any of the dealers have questionable reputations?<br>

The 790 is available only with collarshift transmission, the TC30 and B7800 have other options. Make sure the quotes are apples to apples with regard to transmission types.<br>

The TC30 has a few more HP than the 790 and also has wet brakes vs. the 790s dry brakes, although not too many people complain about the 790s dry brakes. It may make a difference in a few years if you have lots of hills on your property. I'm not sure about the kubota.

See photo # 10 for a 1000+lb. rock I dragged with little problem. I don't see why your tractor won't pull a slighty smaller rock with a little more effort.

I think that all the Dodge diesels are beyond the 6K mark no matter what the year. Could have picked up a 2000 at the dealer auction last week at 7K but that is rare. A rebuilder went for more than that at the insurance auction the other day.

Some of you guys may remember that, about a year ago, I posted that I was looking at a couple of used Cubs 7275's. I passed them up - the one with loader had bad oil leaks and the other had high hours.<br>

Messing around on the web I just found a NEW 7360SS with loader at a dealer in CA that apparently is giving up their Cub franchise. The price is 17410 with the loader and includes shipping cross country to PA. This is cheaper than prices that I got on comparable Kiotis and Centurys and a bundle less than JD and 'bota.<br>

Should I watch out for anything here? Is this too good to be true?

It sounds like you have a carburetor problem. Either a bad needle valve or float. Has it been run recently or has it been sitting idle for a while. If it has been sitting with gas in the carb, it may be gummed up. May need to disassemble carb and soak it in carburetor cleaner.

Another good thing about the 12.4-24 R1's is that there are a LOT more chain varieties available and they are all 30% cheaper than for the R4s.

Only thing is, I tend to learn all those things that I didn't really want to know in the first place. I've got a John Deere 2010 apart in the garage now, and I've learned a lot about why that wasn't a very good head design.

With the new reduced power it might cause problems with the conditions that you have mentioned. The majority of the people youatalkto have the older higher horsepower ones that they are used to running.

I am not sure where you are located but if you have a yanmar dealer near you, I can assure you will not be dissapointed. We have a 330d on our ranch along with several other big and small tractors (massey, john deere, kubota) and by far the best out of all of them is our Yanmar. It's 4x4 with a loader, tiller, blade, mower, and snow blower. No matter what is going on at the ranch the Yanmar is alway doing something on a daily basis. It has approximately 4000hour on it and all we have done is changed the oil and serviced it........NOTHING ELSE. (we did ad power steering ourselves though)

The estate thing is kinda funny. I've told my boys they'll have to divide up toys cause I'm not leaving any money.

I am my own worse enemy I will part with a buck in a heartbeat if it is something that we need and it carries its own weight. But if it's something I want but don't really need, oh boy here I go...

AC5Z0 has a couple of excellent points, as well as others. The smart thing is seperate units. PTO gen 20+kw and look for a good line stick welder that will support mig if I ever get around to that option.

That is the nice thing about this media different unattached thoughts on how to skin a cat.

The embroidery thing is a very good self supporting hobbie at this point. It pays for its self and gets us to Atlantic City once a year.

The real benny is I can do almost anything I want for designs, I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THE DAY I HAD TOO MANY HATS... but it has happened.

I'll let you know how it turns out in a week or so my waiting and cooling period.

I have a GC 2300 which I'm mostly pleased with, but having occasion the last couple days to use the 3PH backblade, I did find one thing that prospective buyers might want to be aware of. The 3PH control lever turns out to be in a kind of awkward spot: it's positioned right under the bend in my right leg. Since I was using the backblade to push snow (in reverse), I was using the hydrostatic treddle quite a bit. The whole arrangement turned out to be a bit awkward. I'm about 5'10", so taller folks might have an even more difficult time with it. Also, maybe it's my adjustments, but the backblade seemed to drop after I set it with the control level to the desired height. Overall, I like this tractor, but I still have a few quirks to work out.

I purchased a new MF1010 in 1985. It is 4WD manual tramsmision. Paid $4800 then. It has 510 hrs on it now and I have been offered $4900 for it. It is in top condition.
