I hear ya brother! Cutting it, loading it, unloading it, splitting it, reloading it, unloading it at the point of sale. Being able to load it in the trailer the 1st time with a FEL and unloading with a dump trailer sure does save some sweat and aching back! ;-)

If you like the 790; stay with the recommended attachments. With a lift capacity of 815 lbs. you would be over the maximum limits of the 790 with the MX5 weighing in at 823 lbs.. I would suggest a similar model tractor in the same product line for what you are proposing. The 990 has a lift capacity of 2,020 lbs. as well as the hp (35 pto hp) to turn the heavier duty and larger rotary cutters such as the MX5. Weight wise you could handle the MX6 or even the 609HD but fall short on the required pto hp. Although John Deere recommends the MX5 for the 990; you would meet the requirements for the MX6 in both pto hp & lift capacity. You will have to juggle the numbers and requirements against your wallet and size likings.

Eric, can you say chain saw and sky light??? ;-) To be honest with you; if you move it outside now, the cold weather will shock it. Any chance you could wait until a bit warmer weather? I would try lifting the planter pot onto a dolly and get several guys to help you gently tip the tree over and with about 4 or 5 guys evenly distributed carrying the tree on their shoulder; carry her out the door. Nice bunch of banana's! I had my own pet banana trees when I was in Honduras. They were actually plantains which the local Hondurans liked to fry up.

i've seen a lot of posts on this topic & i think at least 1 person that decided not to get a 790 because the lift capacity was too low. This model of JD was one of the ones I was seriously looking at buying. I'm still trying to figure out if the low lift capacity will unnecessarily limit me in my use of the tractor. Even though I've operated a small tractor for years it came equipped a certain way & that's the way it still is. Now that i'm looking into a new tractor i've got to make decisions on implements too. I'll need a 5' cutter and a 5' box blade. the cutter will be used on 10 acres of wooded pasture that has some type of weed that grows to 3' & higher and has a stringy stalk when alive. Late in the yr when these die they turn brown & get more brittle (easier to cut), but i can't always wait for this to happen because once the winter rains come i won't be able to get back into the pasture until spring when they dry out again. For this reason I was looking at getting a medium cutter which may push the limit of the 790. Also, i don't want to limit myself later on if i decide to add other attachments. I'd be interested to hear of anyones experience with these tractors, especially if they've found themselves limited in any way because of the lift capacity. <br>

There are designed capacities but they may not be easy to stay within them if a heavy bucket is dropped too fast or a bump is hit at too fast a ground speed and big weight on the 3ph holds down the rear end. Of course tractors are designed to carry counter-weight ballast. The whole question is how much and what size load shocks are reasonable.

I wouldn't have a clue about how big a bump I could hit or how fast a bucket could be dropped and stay within design limitations for my tractor. Few owners would I guess. It is an issue and I know enough to go slow and to feather the controls when managing heavy loads. I think there are max ballast specs for a few tractors. A Ford 1210 was discussed here where the front diff fell off due to a broken frame member--probably from heavy loader work and maybe compounded by fast ground speeds--it does happen but no two models are the same.

I think quite a few box stores sell hydraulic oil that states is equivalent to 134D, which is kind of a standard. I think it's 10-weight but I'm not certain. Most product that is sold as universal hydraulic-transmission oil is similar to 134D. I use NH F200 myself in my 1710, which is a multi-season version of 134D and recommended by my dealer (it gets cold here). I used an AGCO multi-season oil for three years without incident simply because the NH dealer is quite far and I was going by the AGCO dealer when I was thinking about oil. It's not too hard to find oil that claims to be equivalent to 134D and that's what I'd use but I wouldn't go cheap on it either. I'm back to running F200 because I was going past the NH dealer when I was thinking about oil.

Good luck with this one. I remember it well when I got my 1710 (my pet parrot I suppose). I rationalized the thing for several months and frequently engaging my wife in one-sided conversations. She finally said 'Stop trying to justify it. If you want it you want it and that's value in itself. The money's there so don't worry about it. That's what it took to get me to shut up.

On the other side, some people I knew were on-air radio/TV types. The one was turfed--a frequent happening in the buz. He started distributing cell phone and service which worked out OK but not nearly as OK as his wife's embroidery buz. They both got real busy--him in part at his wife's buz. So busy that when the station tried to hire him back (the program manager guessed wrong about the ratings) he didn't care about the job until a much better deal was offered.

I am looking at other tractors too. It's that these 2 are the ones I'm interested in for the Kubota line. I have 10 acres of wooded pasture. The tractor will be used for pasture mowing, driveway maintenance and some landscaping around the house, but not yard mowing. I'm currently doing this with a 16 hp Kubota & want to upgrade to cut my mowing time & versitility, but also stay around 15k for a package.

Part 2: Premium memberships avoid this. My glow plugs (PN SBA185366060) are supposed to test at 1 ohm measured installed from the terminal to the plug nut. With the switch off there shouldn't be continuity between the connector to ground when the plugs aren't connected and each plug should test 1 ohm. That should be a good preliminary test for my 1710.

If the circuit tests good, there's a chance of a wrong indicator part (suppliers as well as different specs are sometimes substituted). My indicator PN is SBA185306091.There also a chance of a bad winding on the safety relay. Getting too long--more later if needed.

We have some promised about that date for us to. With the storm we just had come thru, like we didn't have enough to do trying to get the snowblowers out but then with the power out to it was like what do you deliver first? I found out that several brands blowers are having difficulty putting there orders together.

Many of there models do have the horsepower in the model. Many of the different makes do as well. Some do not have anything to do with the horsepower like the B-7410,7510,7610 and 7800, but for the most part the rest of the models do.

Why risk any problems with a new machine that's under warranty and give the dealer the chance not to help you out if there is a problem later. The couple extra bucks spent on the dealer parts are not going to be that much. In fact my green dealer gave me a deal by buying the filters and fluid in bulk, so I stocked up for the parts needed for the first two years. Proper maintenance and service will make your machine last and give good value for many years. You know best how to fill your needs. Hope it works out for you.

Sounds very familiar, I have just purchased the 7500 hst/ldr
after months of lost wages reserching and looking.
Everyones needs seem to be a little different as does the
property they want to take care of. Mine seems to be like yours,2 acs. of lawn and 2 of woods as well as the
large paved drive and parking area. I was certin the 2210 was for me. But the small wheels of a sub- compact and the "limited" 3pth bothered me. I also am trying to do it all with one machine.I have just purchased a 54" 3 pth
blower. On and off in 5 min. no swearing! I still need to solve my mowing needs,but I have all winter to figure it out.
