Recently bought a new Mazzotti 200 (6.5 ft) backhoe from a small dealer in Florida. The salesman is difficult to get him to return calls. Paid $3999. Their website is:

I think I read somewhere that oil in the fuel changes the effective air/fuel ratio. Oil crowds out the gas and too much leans the mixture. Pure speculation here but I'm guessing that changing the oil fuel ratio requires readjusting the carb.

I don't know what the range of adjustment is but I suppose it's possible that the carbs on machines that were designed for low ratios may not adjust enough to allow running 50:1 or higher ratios even if better oils provided adequate lubrication.

I never found my box scraper very useful until I got a hydraulic top-link. If you anticipate much scraper work an outlet for a top-link would be a very good investment.

A cheap way of doing it would be to get a top-link with long enough hoses to reach the loader valve and steal the curl circuit. That's the solution I use for my forklift that requires two rear circuits. The solution would be a pain for me to use with the box scraper since I switch back and forth between loader and scraper frequently doing most jobs. There are hydraulic multipliers but they are just a little less pain to swap back and forth and I haven't heard any really favourable comments about them.

I just received my holiday catalog from 4 Wheel Drive Hardware and this caught my attention. I dont know how much $$ you want to spend or even if you are still considering a winch but apparantly Warn now makes a Winch that is specifically designed to be portable. Its the Warn M6000 short drum. It already comes with a 2" receiver mount, quick disconnect, carry handle and is lighter with only 50' of cable. All for around $680.
Ramsey also makes a series of winches ranging from 5000 to 9000 lbs called the QM (quick mount) series that includes the mount, quick disco and so on starting at about $670.
Just something to think about.

Check around "ALL" of the exaust gaskets especially at the block. Many times an exaust leak is mistaken for a miss. Look for some black soot.

Also is the sound at a certian rpm or load? Some times harmonics will give that sensation of sound.

Art hit the rest. But slobber mightneed some explainin. It is something you do not want and even worse try cleaning it. It is raw fuel comming out the exaust in black droplets.

If you get water in your exaust when you wash you might notice the black droplets but they do not contain fuel.

I just noticed that the front R4 tires on my 3830 interefere with the LA723 FEL mounting frame when turning sharp. Does Kubota have a fix for this problem. I have my dealer checking into it as well but thought someone here might know.<br>

The diffrence between 2 & 4 link is spacing between links. 2 is closer together, so less spaces between chain links. The tire isnt contacting the ground, and its a smoother ride (less bumpy)...4 link is more bumpy!!<br>

Ditto on it being plenty bright, brighter than the headlights and with a nice spread pattern too.

Also, 2 55 Watt automotive lights might draw down your battery faster than your alternator can recharge it. Not a big problem unless you do a lot of work with the lights on, in that case, you'd have long term problems with your battery & alternator.

So how were you able to get this package for 19,100?

The JD website lists the 4410 with no options at 19,359. From what I've heard, you can only expect 5-8% discount. So with all the attachments, you either got a really great deal or I am missing something.

Without looking up the specs and relying on just the picture I'd say that you might have to feed at least three parking meters if you park along the street. Parking in the mall lot? Piece of cake. Just take your motorscooter with you to get back to the mall entrance.

Out on the highway I'd wager that few people are going to try to slice and dice with you. And if you rig up a heavy, spring-loaded, sidemounted, proximity sensor trip, retractable kicker block then when anybody gets too close to you the kicker block will trip and boot them sideways about three lanes. Gets their attention every time!

I'm looking for a finish mower to hang on the 3ph of my NH TC33D. Saw a new 60" rear disch. Howse mower today that the seller wanted $950 for. Two questions: Is the Howse finish mower reliable (I've used both 4' and 5' Howse rotary mowers with excellent results)? And is this a fair price to pay for this size mower.<br>

On a different subject, I have to do some reverse mowing to get back into some close clearance areas of my property. Can I do this with a rear discharge mower? I've heard and read that the rear disch. distributes the cuttings more evenly, but if reverse mowing is a no-no then I can think about a side disch unit.<br>

purchased it along with the house,he already has his own tractor.he brought it for 10.5 and fortunately he only
wanted what he paid for it.the dealer who did all of the service work on it offered him 14k for it I guess because they knew what kind of shape it was in with low hours.It pays to

The AGM batteries are better for some traction and storage applications. They are not the best for CCA. The Optima get around the problem by increasing the electrode plate sizes. They are more like a capacitor than a conventional battery.
The batteries have a lower self discharge than a regular wet lead acid battery. They have been used for years in restored antique cars that are only started occasionally.

Anyone use an Optima battery in their JD tractor

Thanks Art, that gives me a little more confidence. I'm hoping they will make the swap and that the R1s do what I need. From my research here they are not my utopian tire - JD uses Titan Hi-Traction lug R1s which might offer good traction and self cleaning ability, but they are 6-ply bias construction so they will likely be stiff and inflexible. Ideally I'd like radials, but if the price is right it's worth a try. If the tires they are swapping aren't already loaded I'll go with unloaded tires and wheel weights/rear ballast. Beggars can't be choosers.

Rankin makes forks that are around $600 for a 430 loader, as opposed to the $1000 JD wants. You might check with them. Go to this link, and in the vendors box scroll down to Rankin, then scroll down to the forklifts section and click on "loader mounted forklifts".<br>

I ended up getting Rankin 3ph forks instead. They obviously won't lift as high on the 3ph but they will carry about 1000 lbs more. I paid $340 and Rankin modified them to fit the iMatch quick hitch for another $30. Well built forks, and Rankin seems easy to work with but I think you'll have to order through a dealer.

I don't have any way to find JD codes out but I would not be putting that blade on a 650 as it is to narrow and probably to light!
