Another option might be Kioti, if there's a dealer in your area. DK35Vince can elaborate on these. It's not one of the big 3 brands but there have been good reports from their owners and they are very economical. I didn't look at these because the nearest dealer is too far away.

Glad your PW is working well, Chief. I notice that Stateline Power still is out of the PW deals you got. Looks like you ordered just in time.

I probably have 10-12 hours on mine so far. The pump on mine has a six year warranty and it never mentions changing the pump oil, but I'm sure that's a good idea. It's a CAT pump so I'll use CAT oil in it. I'll probably change the engine oil after about 25 hours or so.

Chief, The 2 cycle oil makers are going to a smokeless formula. If it calls for 50:1, that's the way I'd mix it.

I have a Kubota L4610HST and have just recently purchased a used Woods 9500 backhoe. The manual shows both 3 point and subframe mounting. Am I asking for trouble using the 3 point setup? Has anyone had any bad experiences with this?

I think I have about cut all the grass and soon will have mulched all the leaves I care to for the season. I am thinking about removing the MMM and storing it until I need it in the Spring. I have a couple of questions I was mulling over and wanted to get some opinions. I am planning to store the MMM layed up against the wall secured vertically. See any issues with the MMM gearbox & seals doing this? The other issue is preserving the MMM height and level adjustments that I have now. It is very time consuming to measure out and adjust. I was thinking about removing the MMM support rods and running a metal rod through the clevis's to keep them from turning while in storage. Anyone have a better idea on how to store the MMM? I plan on doing some tilling with the pto tiller in the garden and hopefully maybe make a few bucks tilling other people's gardens while I have it all hooked up. Doing this with the MMM is a big PITA as is hangs up in the soil and leaves when the tractor sinks in a little; and I feel it is just unnecessary wear and tear on the MMM. What do you think?

Get a curtis loader mounted snow plow, i have one on my JD 955. Its probably cheaper than a JD plow. Plus it mounts to the loader, so you can use it to stack snow. This is great for when you run out of room to push the snow.

to buy a compact tractor, probably a NH, probably 30hp and
I want to do some stump grining with it. I hope to rent a
grinder and use the PTO of the tractor to drive it. Am I

Hoosier When Art reads Iam sure he'll have some good advice. I've looked at the jrw and they seemed a little light for my needs. Do not get me wrong they will do the job, but they are not as beefy as others. Of course you will pay an extra $1000 for the top of the line blowers. Loftness, Pronovost to name 2. There are some others that are very well built, heavy duty, but you gotta pay for that.

The jrw line will take care of fresh snow very easily and last a long time. I was looking for something to move snowbanks and frozen hardpack. I rarely use blower on fresh snow unless we have a foot or more and it's still comming wich last year happened 3 or so times.

I imagine it isn't starting if it stuck in reverse. Still might some good the make sure the diff lock is released, put it into 2wd if it's not and push it a bit forward and backwards. The clutch probably would have to be in.

It's possible that the detend ball or some other linkage part is the problem. As Peters mentioned, checking out that possibility and a few others likely requires removing the TX top-cover. That would require a gasket and it'd best be with a repair manual handy. Safety switch parts can drop off the top cover into the TX on some models. It is possible for shift forks to get what I'd call out of coordination and they can lock a TX into gear until the forks are manually pulled around. A '53 Chevy I had used to lock itself into 2nd regularly, but I just had to pull on the external levers to get it released.

Jaymar, one additional thought. Regarding your hand surgery, if that left you with any long-term difficulties, the fuel tank on the MF GC2300 is pretty awkward, especially if the rear light metal plate is mounted on the outside of the ROPS. Fill opening is small (dealer said that was being changed next year), adding to the awkwardness. Especially if you're filling from 5-gallon cans, check this out closely. Also, 3PH doesn't have true position control, and as far as I know, no backhoe is available for the 2300. MF's website shows a new model very similar to the BX22 that comes with a backhoe.

When I hear 'lift-arms' I think of the arms that are splined onto the rockshaft ends. I call the arms that implements attach to the lower link arms. Other people may use different terms. I'm guessing you're interested in link arms. It'd be a lot easier to make lower link arms but maybe not necessary.

3ph's are fairly standard (the standards are somewhere in the site archives. There's decent chance that arms from a different tractor would work with some adaptation such as drilling new holes for mounts and hardware that is specific to the tractor. I think there are some after-market suppliers that have lower prices than dealer parts. A salvage yard might have some arms and I think larger yards ship internationally. The link below goes to a list of salvage yards. Don't know if I've helped of not.

Woods does have a new hoe coming out for the bx ,last time i talked to andrewg/woodsonline said unit is under development ,and would be out in jan 04. had my dealer call for info and said target price is around $5500.0
