I ordered a BX2230 with FEL, 54"MMM, snow blower and tiller yesterday. Anticipated delivery for the tractor and FEL is 3 weeks. Anticipated delivery for the snow blower is 7! Cutting it pretty close here in New Hampshire... That FEL could come in handy long before I thought it would.

Insulation is very important but it doesn't stop air movement. We have cellulose insulation, R21 in the walls and R43 in the attic so I was very surprised at the difference the air-loc fixture gaskets made.

That is a bit unexpected as the 4710 has 15.9 gpm hyd pump capacity vs. 13.9 for the 4410. The 460 loader requires more hyd. capacity but both should not perform all that differently speed wise. I will have to check the specs. in my JD FEL manual.

I don't know if this will help or not but I've heard that some tractors in the TC series have a problem with bad ignition switches. The switches cause a short which causes fuses to blow. I don't have any more info than that but your dealer should know more.

What would be a good price for an E184D with a rear blade, AG and Rear turf tires, Tiller, rear boom, and a 6'finish mower? I live in northeast Ohio, and am looking to purchase one. Also are there belly mowers available for it. I believe it has about 610 hrs. I do not know the year. Thank you for your help.<br>

I had a new radiator put in mine and it's a different part number. Effective with serial # G039046 a new radiator PN 86402723 was introduced into production. The old radiator had 12 fins per inch. The new one has 8 fins per inch. It is recomended by the service bulletin #3/03-t5 that the screen is not used with the new radiator.

Dennis, it depends on where you are at. If you are in Georgia then much of this stuff is right there. We did in NY just get a batch of BX2230's so it is coming down the pipe line. I did just sell a B-7610 so with in a day I will have the info for sold orders which take presidence over dealer stock orders.

Thanks for all the opinions. I realize it isn't rocket science and I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it except for the unusual bolt. It doesn't look like someone's first attempt at bolting the flywheel to the crank. It looks like a response to a problem so I'm guessing there's been more than a casual thought to the proper torque. I was wrong about the head markings - there are none. The bolt has a turning center like they were produced in low volume on a lathe. If anyone wants to see it I can email a picture, it's not clear to me how to post an image here. I have a manual on order, I may just hold up on re-assembly till it gets here unless someone can find a value. It is an M12 x 1.25 bolt which isn't in the standards book where I work. Our standards for an M12 x 1 are 77 ft-lbs for a class 8.8 and 105 ft-lbs for a class 10.9. Can someone tell me what a Kubota manual says? Thanks.<br>

TomG brings up a good point about loctite. The red variety does require heat to remove and the rear crank seal rides on the same chunk of metal these bolts thread into. It doesn't seem like you'd want to use anything stronger than blue. I didn't see any sign of a threadlocker on the bolts.<br>

Can anyone tell me why the clutch housing is sealed? Every other dry clutch I've seen has a hole in the bottom of the housing, usually with a cotter pin in it to keep it from plugging. This unit had a transmission input shaft leak and there was about 1/2 quart of fluid in the clutch housing. There is a plug in the bottom of the housing and it seems to me it should be left out so you know if there is a leak instead of making a wet clutch out of a dry one.

Mark, it didn't click on me until I re-read the whole thread but you said your oil furnace died. If you had a forced air furnace previously they have a really slick heat exchanger that just goes right inside your existing plenum and uses the existing ducting and blower. It is intended as supplemental heat for existing heat plants but might be just the ticket for your needs.

Have a look at the link below also, they are not an outdoor unit per se, but could easily be installed in the shop to feed the house as well, or vice versa.

BTW, have a look at cornburner dot com for some good info and even some pricing, etc.
