I am sure current B7500 B17, B21 owners who had problems with those underpowered headlights (actually they were only tail light bulbs) can feel gratified that Kubota listened to them. The new B7510 and B7610 are purportedly equipted with sealed beam headlights for the first time. Hurrah!!<br>

Now has anyone heard when the new B's will be at the dealers??<br>

The BX22's (and most likely the 23's also) come through a different distribution system and may be a little slower showing up.

The 22's are assembled and tested at a regional distribution center and delivered as a drive off unit.

The other BX's come to the dealer in crates for final assembly.

Yes, the straps are scary. I keep the truck tailgate up and the bed toolbox lid up when using. That provides good protection for me.

The straps I use are 30,000lb straps, our tractors have no chance of snapping them and the truck won't snap them pulling something as light as your tractor. I have maxed out my truck pulling some trees with them and so far so good. I did however pull the center 5'" section of an 8" tree out, the tree fell straight down and the section came whipping back at the truck end over end while I accelerated away hoping it wouldn't catch up. LUCKILY IT DIDN'T!

Pulling with the tractor I use the 30' chain almost exclusively. The straps are used for pulling other people out with the truck mostly. The nice thing is when people don't have tow hooks you can wrap the strap around some other part without damaging it or ripping it off due to the give it has.

I guess they are both useful in different cases. But I agree the chains are safer.

Two other points worth mentioning about buried cables.

Regardless of whether you dig a trench or use a trencher, take the time to spool off a ribbon of caution tape in the trench during the back-filling operation, this way if anyone is digging in that area in the future they will come across the warning tape long before (hopefully) they dig into the buried cable below it. Cheap insurance.

The other tip is to allways leave LOTS of slack in underground cables, even if they are in conduit. This way if a tree along side grows, or someone catches the cable on something there is some slack to take up before the cable is snapped. Likewise, always make a collar of some form if you are running cable through concrete, later it can move or be replaced if need be. BTW, the cheapest, easiest conduit to use is 'utility' (low pressure) grade poly water pipe.

I think the L2350 was somewhat similar to the L245. I had an L1200 FEL on it. If I recall correctley (big if here with my CRS) the 3rd line routed hyd. oil back to the trans case/reservoir. I think I still have pictures of this I can email you. I took pictures of this set up so I could buy a hyd. power beyond cover reroute plate in order to remove the loader. I still have this plate kit. If you think the pictures will be of help; let me know and I will email them to you.

The 4010 (18 hp),4110 (20hp), & 4115 (24 hp) are small frame CUT's.<br>

4210 (28 hp), 4310 (32 hp), & 4410 (35 hp) medium frame CUT's.<br>

4510 (39 hp), 4610 (44 hp), & 4710 (48 hp) are large frame CUTS. <br>

The 4110, 4310, and 4610 are more or less the value buys for the hp & capability gotten for the dollar spent. <br>

The 4410 has more torque than any other 4000 Ten series tractor except for the 4710. <br>

The 4210 and up tractor come with ehydro as an option (REAL nice as far as user friendly but pricey) The ehydro will add about $2400 to the price on all the tractors except for the 4410 & 4710 it is about $1200. <br>

Personally of the small frame tractors I like the 4115 but they make a big price jump for the 4 hp & slightly larger frame, I like the 4410 in the medium frame class but cannot justify the extra approx. $1500 for 3 hp and 8 ft/lbs. torque, the sames holds true for the 4710 with the 4610 being the best bang for the buck here. <br>

Mark, sorry for the delay in my response, my controls are a little stiff, but I feel that they need more break in time. Too much pressure is possible but I have less than an hour on the hoe so far. Next week I will be digging in a new electrical service and will see how the controls are then. I will get back to you ASAP.

You can do that Tom with any engine. The hard part is to build an engine that can handle high torque loads and not disintergrate. The govoner system can do that but on air cooled engines you certainly can not increase loads at low RPM when you don't have a fan with good rpm to cool it.

Mark, the third year is engine and drive train. Tom, it baiscally is a direction valve that sits under the steering wheel and sends the oil to one side or the other of the steering cylinder. Yes it is worked from a steering wheel but could actually be made to be a standard two way valve but for some they might have difficulty driving without a wheel to hang on to!

Just a couple of random thoughts here. The first is that some types of lock-tight have to be heated to release parts. Probably not an issue but I'd make sure that parts like seals are far enough away that heat could be applied to the bolts without injuring anything that's not metal.

I got factory manuals for my Ford through my NH dealer. They still exist but several month backorders can happen if the publisher is out of stock. My orders didn't take too long and I found the factory manuals much better than after-market ones. They were pricey and the parts manuals included many models but the wait was worth it since I didn't have an immediate problem.

The metric hardware coding for my Ford used a code starting with a 'T' to indicate grade. The general torque table gives the same torque for all grades with the same bolt size and thread. I believe I've seen bolts stamped with 'M' before but I have no information about them. It's good to check this kind of thing out but a good perspective that it isn't quite rocket science.

Safely 1000 lbs is the tip load for that skid steer. The total rated lift capacity is probably about 2000 lbs just comparing it to todays skids that the safe carry load is 1/2 the total load able to lift but not move safely. The 1000 lbs is easier to deal with then the 2000lbs or maybe 1200 to 1400 that might get moved and not considered to much of a load. For two acres it might be better to keep the skid and have a smaller tractor to mow with like Tom suggested. It depends on what you are planning to do. Many landscapers use skid steers for yard work. Bobcats do have trouble back grading but if you load the bucket foll of dirt first it will help you from going over backwards.

Question are you trying to out do the Jones or are you the Jones. A 5205 and a 4610 are both nice tractors. But it depend on what you will try to do with it the most. Loading or towing. Loading go with the hydro 4610 or a 4710, towing and raw HP the 5205. I used to run a 5210 and i own a 955, the hydro trans is great for loading, the sync trans is ok but your foot will start to hurt after pushing on the clutch 5000 times to change gears while loading. Its up to you, it your money.

Unless your trying to blow leave across a lawn a mile wide. A tractor mounted blower will cost you more than a commerical push blower. I used to run a Jacobsen blower on a JD 5210, it was horrible at blowing leaves in small places. A backpack or push blower can get it done faster. I would recommen a Little Wonder Blower with the 10hp briggs. I got one and it is light and easy to push. It also will pick up a chipmunk and throw him 20 ft. True story, a chipmunk ran right in front of the air stream, and off he went into a pile of leaves. I thought i sucked him up. I shut off the blower and started to look for him, when he ran out of the pile and up a tree. i am not kidding.

I bought my 1993 (921HRS) JD 955 w/70a and 60"MMM for $8500. (it also had a new radiator, hydro cooler, fan, motor mounts, etc.) The guy who traded it, broke the engine mounts and the cooling fan ripped up the parts listed. But having a friend owner the JD dealership also had something to do with the price. He really wanted it off the lot. By the way were do you live, i might have a friend who would want your JD 955
