Listen go get your self a 4110 or a 4210 with a mower, loader and a rear erskin snow blower. You can use the blower the throw the snow and the bucket to stack it. A 2210 sound to small for what you are doing.
By the way a craftsman tractor does not even come close to a John deere.

There's no reason why you can't also use a rotary cutter to cut grass - it won't look as manicured as a finish mower but it will do the job.

JParker, I'm sure R4s are fine in most circumstances. Since you are interested in mowing you won't want R1s since they will certainly leave tracks on a lawn or field. People more experienced than me say that R1s would be just as bad in my situation. I dunno. It would be an expensive experiment to buy a second set of tires to do an A/B comparison, but if I keep having traction problems something will have to be done.

I would use the hay or whatever you had on the TOW vehicle not the tractor. I agree the tractor may be too stuck to help itself out. I think the key is getting good footing for your truck to get some bite. The truck isn't in a rut or on such a slope so with some lenghty straps/chains or a combo you hopefully can give the tractor a good tug.<br>

If you get the truck rolling foward with a little slack in the strap it SHOULD be able to put some pull on the lighter tractor. The straps will have enough give so you don't break anything as long as you're reasonable.<br>

I've decided to gamble on the purchase of a Jinma chipper. There are a couple of guys on the chinese tractor board who have used them and think they are great chippers even though they are inexpensive. They are simple with most parts readily available. Apparently the weakest think about them is the belt on the mechanical power feed. If you keep the belts adjusted and spare belts on hand they should be pretty reliable. It's quite a deal - I'm getting it for $1760 delivered 75 miles, which includes a spare set of blades. This sucker is heavy - nearly 900 lbs. The cheapest comparable name brand chipper/blower I could find was a bearcat at $1300 more with only 4.5" capacity instead of 6".

I'm new here, but one of my "Down the road" wants is something to cut the banks and ditches. Some with major drop offs. Murf's idea sounds interesting, but I couldn't picture it. Do you have a photo or a sketch that would help?

Maybe in the suburbs,I'm a country guy myself,we tend to look at the location not the house first before buying,who in there right mind would buy a place than build a high burm around it to try and keep out noisy neighbors,and noise,these is why we got democrats and republicans,guess which one I am. I got an excellant deal.
Rhino 85 backhoe,subframe,HD 18" bucket,hydraulic hose kit and fittings to plum into tractor hydraulics $5200.
This price was in the crate loaded into my truck,I did the final assembly (put on bucket,assemble subframe,install hoses and fittings to plug into tractor).
Backhoe digs 8 1/2' with 11' reach.

Mine is a '94 2500, 4x4, 3.55's, 5-speed, with 265-75R-16 tires; milage varies between 17mpg worst recorded, and 25mpg best, depending on speed load and type of fuel.

Using a winter blend fuel and hauling heavy gets the worst mileage. Summer #2 empty with cruise set to 55, gets 25+ mpg.

Having the calcium and tubes removed from my r-4's on my 790.rusting around the valve stems,and one stem seems to always be seeping/wet.still under warranty My dealer is haveing the tires demounted to question workmanship/tube failure.no flats (ever).<br>
Will be filling them with "rim-guard",says that my 15x19.5 rims take approximatly 47 gallons apeice.<br>
My dealer is quite a distance and just started to carry "rim-guard" and is going to drop calcium all together/claims there is only 1/2lb per gallon difference. He also claims that the little extra in price will off set warranty/rust problems and tire repair work.br><br>
I live 500ft from the Hudson river and there are a couple of private wells in the area,the insurence of a major failure(rupture/flat)that wont contaminate the wells or the HUDSON is welcomed.The E.P.A. continually monitors this area and has fined a few local people on heavy equipement used durring excavation leaking hydraulic fluid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that price ($21K) for a tractor, loader AND a backhoe out the door?

That is about what I gave for my 4115 T/L/B and it is a 24 horse tractor.

There are advantages with a something a bit larger than a BX22. They don't necessarily dig any better though.

What is unsettling is the fact that when you go around and ask dealers what the price will be for a particular truck, the price has a tendency fluctuate. How is that possible you ask...I don't know? I do qualify for X-plan, and still had to shop around. Pretty Sad for a manufacture to be able to operate like that.

Hi,
I just bought a 4110.
The $400 rebate is for ANY 2 John Deere attachments.
The MMM & FEL have to be made by JD. If they are, then you get the rebate.
I was only going to get the FEL and a box scraper.
In this case, I wouldn't get the $400 off, because the box scraper isn't made by JD. :-)
