I have been given a price of $5950.00 on a Massey-Ferguson 1010. This model is an 18hp 4WD recently updated cosmetically. There is an oil leak that the dealer says he will fix. Reasonable deal or am I getting taken to the cleaners?

The JD 790 is basicly the same price as the L 2500. With the 790 you get MORE. More HP 30 vs. 27 on the L2500. More pto hp. Also you get a live pto which the L 2500 does'nt have. So being the same quality and price range I would go with the JD. 15k is not too far off and if you are looking for a good tractor---go for it.

This is false the Yanmar tractors 4wd or 2wd for that matter are first class products, with an excellent reputation. We have sold many 4wd Yanmars and none that I know of have broken 4wd drivelines. Loaders are the main cause of driveline failures in ALL compact tractors. Any compact used as a bulldozer (some owners of these tractors with loaders seem to think they are bulldozers) is subject to expensive failures. We currently have a Kubota in the shop that will cost the owner well over a grand to fix, due to a broken front axle.

I ve heard Yanmar 4WDs are not reliable Is this true

I have a 4200 and the 90's were pointed down. I did exactly like someone else mentioned and turned the 90's up and took out the slack by reconnecting the cables to the loader and it has worked great since.

My L3250 came with a Kubota brand battery that had a probe in one of the cells that would make the battery light come on<br>if the acid level got low.When I replaced the battery with one from the parts store there was no where to put the probe, so the<br>battery light has been on every since.

I'm looking for a set of rims/turf tires for my L275DT. The rears are 13.6-16 and the fronts 27X8.50-15. Would prefer after market or good used set if available. I'm located in southeast Michigan. Currently have AG tires on the tractor and am tearing up the lawn too much when cutting. ANy info would be appreciated. <br>

I'm thinking of converting an existing grass field to hay production next year, and I 'm wondering what everyone might suggest I would need to cut and bae the hay. I will be usine a Kabota L4200 or L4310, about 45 hp. Regarding the fuel tank screen: Since I was used to having one on my Kubota, I also missed having one on my JD4400 and mentioned this to my dealer--and asked him IF there was an aftermarket screen or if he knew which auto parts store might carry one that I could adapt. He went over to a lawn tractor in the showroom (maybe a JD445?) and removed its screen and handed it to me and suggested that I adapt it which I did. I took a scrap piece of plexiglass and cut out a hole just large enough for the screen to fall into and cut the outside of the plexiglass large enough for it to completely cover the fuel filler hole on the fuel tank. I now use the screen (together with its holder) as soon as I remove the fuel cap. This kludge is not as convenient as a built-in screen, but sure works better than no screen. This works great for me, but I do not use my tractor for a living, so the inconvenience of spending an extra minute to add the screen before fueling and then remove the screen after fueling is not an issue for me.<br>Mike

The YM1600 should have 19.5 pto hp & around 23.5 engine hp. The engine hp is an estimate determined by comparing the pto to engine hp of similiar sized tractors.Feel free to contact me for further info on manuals.
