Not a great situation. Hope it works out better than it stated. Coming up with an engine from a parted out tractor may prove difficult. Below is a link I ran across to a list of salvage yards. Maybe there are better lists but this one might help.

If it's the right kind of hole you might take heart. If it's below the cylinders and not into a water jacket they sometimes can be repaired successfully. Takes a specialty shop to do it though. Most likely there's other damage to the engine and then parts could be a problem. Bad situation at best but maybe it'd be an easier and cheaper route than a different engine.

Machinerylink gives the value of your MF as $6400-7500 without the loader. Add maybe $1000-$2000 for the loader? Hope it helps.

Yikes! I think you need to make contact with a dealer, get some manuals and maybe a bit of time with a service tech. Below is a link I ran across that lists dealers. A few list Hinomoto and one of them is Corrihier in NC. I think they received some good words here recently but their site does describe them as a NH dealer.

Model etc. ID's usually are on a plate attached to the TX or somewhere around the pto shaft.

Maybe somebody here knows about the tractor but if not we're still a pretty good source of general tech, maintenance and operating info.

Not a good situation. I don't think I'd want to tackle a TX without a repair manual and I like to have a parts manual around as well. I hope the manual situation gets straightened out.

If you get stuck, the gears themselves probably could be OEM'ed to avoid the Long parts system. There's likely codes stamped on a race that would ID the gear and manufacturer. I haven't had to do it myself and I likely start calling fabrication shops or large TX shops looking for somebody who has an OEM catalogue. There are gear associations and gear companies on the net.

The disassembly likely would have some tricks to be figured out. A really experienced mechanic should be able set clearances without specs. Shims and gaskets can be made from stock. A lot easier to say than to do of course. A last resort but it probably could be done without manuals or parts support.

Hope something better pops up. From the sound of it, the tractor should be gone over pretty thoroughly when it's torn down. Some TX top covers have parts that can fall into the TX when they're removed. Hope you haven't lost anything but it sounds like a tear down is inevitable so you'd probably find it again.

I mow about two acres of lawn, I had a JD 430 L&G for 18.5 trouble free years. This year I traded for a X595 w/ 62" MMM. I have a lot of hills, banks and tight spots to mow and this tractor handles great. It is a powerful, well built L&G tractor.
No doubt about it, it is a lot of money for a mower and I know there are alot of good mowers out there for less but I sure enjoyed my JD430 for years after I had forgotten how much I paid for it.
That's my .02 worth.

Just wanted to say thanks for information on the 790 4x4 tractors. (and other models) I've been lurking in the background, reading and searching for information on most of this sites boards. Should be getting mine by wed of next week. Will try to post pict when I get tractor. Does anyone know of any decent pallet forks for the 419 loader that are cheaper than the deere forks?? Called Rankin and the shipping seem to eat up any savings. Am located in Oklahoma near ark border. Thanks again.

A little tip for checking for moisture, leave tractor stationary over nite and just crack the lowest drain plug to check for the water. You shouldn't have to worry about it for a while but it is something to check from year to year. In the fall is a good time to do it if it was one time in a year as this is the time that a tractor will get frozen up here in the northeast if left out.

I know what you mean about the TC35D being the little guy with the same frame. I went up and rode around on the 4410 today and asked my final questions. Tomorrow I will be at the NH dealer to do the same. It might be a done deal because I sure do like those NH.

You are right about the cold cranking amps of the battery but I wonder if the larger batterys will fit the hole. It will take a good application chart to tell. I would wonder as to why the need for the battery change to heavier. Is this the original battery? For an older 2900 to be on the second battery would not be to bad of a life. We have been using the Excide batteries for factory replacements. To extend life of batteries it is good to cycle them or use them to some degree even with just a charger once a week for a sort time.

I've looked at the JD loader mounted blades at the dealership.What I want to do is take a 54" snow blade of any brand cut it behind the pivot point and adapt it to my loader just like the factory blades.

If it is packed with old dry grease and all the above tricks fail. Heat it, not so hot as to burn the rubber boot, but you need it quite warm/hot then stick the grease to it. She will take it then or you might as well replace the whole end.

I just sold a b-6000 with a lot of extras I have the snowblade and subframe here for the tractor as the buyer did not take them yet. I could check with him and see if he wants to sell them. I had a front loader on the tractor so I would assume he is not going to mount the blade setup. This I believe is a regular snow blade (Its very heavy duty) as for someone said it has the springs on it.

I was thinking the same thing about the axle, that is why I suggested running the serial # for PIP's. I was thinking about $1500 for the loader, $350 for the push blade,$150 forks, MMM $1000, Turf Tires and set of bar tires $750, PHD $500, Ballast box $100. I was thinking the entire package deal but I think you are right; I over shot a little. ;-)

Hi Guys, I'm a new owner of a CC7265. Bought it used and did not get an owners manual. I would like to go through and do all the maintenance before I begin to use it to any extent. <br>
Could someone please provide me with the part numbers for oil, air and hydro fluid filters and also would appreciate any other maintenance tips you may have. Mine has a front loader attachment; I have used it some and am very pleased with it so far. <br>

The animal responsible for the most deaths in the US is the common deer (mostly whitetail and mule). I am sure that the vast majority is from traffic mishaps.

Tom, please do not take any offense to anything I said. I certainly did not intend any offense, but intent is hard to express in an email. I will continue to "pack heat", but I appreciate your point of view and your valuable insights. It is fine with me to have a well considered difference of opinion.
