You are getting close enough as there are the two under the bull gears and then two under the center, one towards the front by the mid pto drop box and one towards the rear from there.

I'm not sure what you mean about having to get a slip clutch on the 4410 for your bush hog. On my 4310 I could buy a rotary cutter with or without a slip clutch and either would work fine. I specifically wanted a slip clutch to avoid changing broken shear pins.

Maybe in some very few cases. For most males it is more like 28. I told my daughters no dating until they are 24! ;-) Girls seem to develop common sense sooner than the boys. Just kiddin'...... I am sure I will have that bridge shoved up my kazzoo when the time comes!

I have seen so many times where parent just turn their carpet monsters loose with no supervision on these ATV's. Really makes no difference where they are 2,3, or 4 wheel ATV's.......... if they are driven by an irresponsible idiot or and unsupervised child in a manor they were not designed for, bad results happen. Murf summed it up with "loose nut behind the wheel". This applies to what are now called PWC's but I call PWT's. (Personal Water Turds)

If you go to a big, quality, auto supply house they should be able to get (or might even stock) a type of grease gun known as a percussion gun. These are basically a small cylinder, like a hydraulic cylinder, with a small pipe and grease nipple fitting at the end. You use it by eother pushing it against a grease nipple, or in the case of a fitting that won't take grease, strike it with a rubber mallet like it was a huge nail. The sudden shot of grease under such extreme pressure is usually enough to blow past an obstruction. These used to be very common units but are getting harder to find these days since most people use high pressure air-powered units now.

Appreciate the eventual calm replies. For the never calm ones, get a grip. If you treat people like me as the enemy you're just helping those that are trying to do unto you and have done unto us here.

A former federal official recently gave an interview about our nutty control and registration system here. What was said is that the policy was to make the system as outrageous as possible. The reason was that the party policy people wanted outraged letters and even better demonstrations from owners. They felt that it would score points for the government with the enviros and crowd. Owners were simply scapegoated to help keep a few low-life politicos in office. Hey, don't help them eh!

There are real use, lore and safety issues that might be good to discuss but maybe it's too difficult. It also doesn't seem very helpful to treat an entire township of bushies as if they don't know what they're doing. Most people spend a lot of time in the bush and we're knee-deep in bears. Nobody here ever takes guns into the bush except for hunting or practice. Protection just isn't an issue. There hasn't been a bear attack in a long while. Well, we do keep track of what's hanging around where, and the ones on their ways to becoming problems just don't last very long.

Jeff, depending on the size of the compactor, it is likely powered by either a Hatz or Lombardini diesel engine. The smaller units all had Hatz engines, and depending on the age, you say it is VERY old, the bigger ones were Hatz also. They switched to the Lombardini's on the bigger ones a while back, probably about the early 80's.

The Hatz company is still alive and well, by the way, in fact they have an American Branch in Wisconsin, see the link below for more info. if needed.

Culpeper, VA ehh? Is where my family lives close by in Warrenton & Remington, right across the river. Are you sure you will need an entire engine assembly? Have you disassembled the engine to see if you can salvage it. May just need to replace some rods, pistons, and have the crank refinished. Or did it throw the rod through the side of the block? That is gonna be a tough engine to find but maybe these guys can help get you in touch with someone who handles them.

Turfs work for me too and I guess the blower cures the deep snow limitations 'cause I just don't have traction problems. Guess I could use some more steering to push the 3ph blower around corners sometimes when I'm trying to get off the highway shoulder fast. HST would cure that problem as would chains and more weight in the loader. If I had ags then I'd probably have chains too. They'd help some and sometimes a little bit of help goes a long way. I forget whether ladder or diamond types stay on top of the lugs better.

I bought a Homelite TimberMan 18" for 179.99 at Home Depot after 12 years of nothing but problems with a Stihl. The Homelite has a 45cc engine and a narrow kerf .325 pitch chain. I figure I put nearly 200 bucks in repairs over 10 years with another 100 3 months ago in the Stihl with about 20 hours of use. Now the Stihl won't run at an angle even with a new carberator because the repair guy said that they had problems with too hard of piston rings than the cylinder walls that accelerated wear and causes low compression. The saw sits in my garage ready for the junk man because I refuse to put another penny into that mechanical money sucking leach. This Homelite saw puts my problematic 350 dollar Stihl to shame. I improved performance greatly with a semi-chisel extra chain over the standard chain that come with the saw. I considered a Husky at Lowes but with a bigger engine I was looking at 150 bucks more. I also have a 2 year old nice 16" Mac with a 35cc engine I use for delimbing but once you get used to a 45cc its tough to grab the Mac. The Timberman is balanced well and no numbness in hands after you use it and I don't use a chainsaw more than 2 hours at at time since I need a break from that kind of manual labor. Both saws use about 1 tank of bar oil to 2 tanks of gas which is very reasonable.

New Holland's parent company is called CNH - Case New Holland. The only difference between the Case D/DX tractors and the NH Boomers is the color and the optional SuperSteer option available on the NH line. I'm not sure what they will do with the redesigned line but it will likely be a similar arrangement.

I looked at tractors and shopped for about 6 months getting myself educated so I could make an informed decision on what to buy. Finally decided on a New Holland TC-30, 4x4 hydro with a 7308 loader. After reading so many positive things about Corriher Implement in Newton, NC I approached them, made a deal and took delivery last week. I couldn't be more happier with the outcome. Steve at Corriher has been awesome answering all of my questions and assisting in any way possible to ensure I was satisfied. I also bought a Woods Box Blade and Bush Hog Rotary Cutter and was impressed in that Corriher even painted the box blade to match the color of the tractor (at no extra charge). Finally, and most noteworthy, I saved nearly $2,000 compared to the best deal I could get from the local New Holland dealers. So needless to say, Corriher has my business now and in the future - they are true professionals in every respect. Thanks Corriher and especially Steve for making my first tractor purchase a positive one!!

Well, my (not quite a 4410) 4310 has been working great since the electrical harness overhaul. The intermittent drive shutdown and a broken fuse panel have been my only incidents in the 140 hours I have put on the tractor since purchasing almost 1 year ago. The tractor had 130 hours when purchased (dealer rental), so it now has 270 total hours and has been indispensible around the 'farm'. Should have bought it years ago....

I have a 1968 MF 135 and the hydraulic pump makes a clunking noise, especially when the 3 point is under a load. A couple of people have told me that this is common with that vinatage MF and that it is the pump bucking against the anit rotation shaft. Anyone have any experience with this?

I have to take the b2910 to the dealer for some warrenty work. Thinking about having him install work light. He recommends Kubota work light package. Says its one light on the side of the rops? Anyone purchased this and if so what are your thoughts and do you have pictures?

I have driven semi a few years and I can shift from reverse to 1st on my 790 pretty slick without grinding anything doing fel work.
My right hand on the joy stick and I slide my left arm under the wheel and "snap" r to 1st and 1st to r.
Just like feeling for the next gear without clutching.
