All of the magnetic heaters I have used have been thermostatically controlled to 300-350 degrees F. That is a couple hundred degrees cooler than the oil might get in certain engine parts on a hot day.

Based on that I have never worried about the magnetic heater cooking the oil.

Like Tom I have had many occasions where a cold, idling engine will not turn the transmission in neutral. All you can do when it is that cold is sit there with your foot on the clutch until the engine warms up.

My 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 is also the quietest truck I have ever been in. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 in it.

I guess yours must be pretty new as the V8 came out in 2000, have the dealer check it out, particularly if you are still under warranty.

If nothing else pops up, Allied had tech drawings for their loader frames on their site--at least before Buhler bought them. I guess this is for a front plow and maybe a loader frame would do the job.

follow up
i put penetrating fluid on key, inserted & tried to turn a couple of times. got it to crank. unscrewed ring that holds ignition in place, replaced it. tractor now cranks "sometimes" (i think there's a short in switch itself) anyway, i was able to use tractor some yesterday. reason that was important.... new toothbar arrived. man, it changes a toy into a tractor. the last time i had used tractor before ignition started causing trouble, i had tried to push some brush & trash piles to little avail. yesterday, they were pushed, they are now gone! what a difference. i plan to work some more today if i have to straight wire ignition (Hee Hee.. just kidding)

What do you think about this warranty problem

gary, you, sir, are my kind of tractor buyer. congratulations. i'm sure you'll have lots of fun (and now, when you're just digging, pushing, or just driving, you can tell her you're "working") i love it.
question from one semi new owner to a new owner; how do you like the supersteer? i had never driven a tractor with it until mine was delivered (tc33d). i absolutely love it. it allows me to work in tight spaces, etc., like i never thought i could. i've read negatives, but i haven't experienced any. hope you like yours as well. again, congrats (hey, & if you need help "working" i can be bought "CheaP")

I'd like to find a L3010 hst 4w used or new or somthing like it in the Clear Lake area. This will be my first tractor. Do any Dealers in Houston area have good prices on Kubota?

I am in the market for a new tractor. The closest Kioti dealer is about 120 miles away. Locally we have most of the other major tractor dealers including Kubota.<br>

On paper the CK20 HST looks like a nice tractor, but I have been unable to find one to test drive.<br>

Though the CK 20 HST seems to have the power of a Kubota Compact tractor B7500, it appears from the pictures to be more of the physical size of Kubota's subcompact tractors.<br>

In the Kubota line, the B2410 or the new B7510 fit my specs the best.<br>

How does the CK20 HST compare. The Kubota has a turning radius of about 7 feet (84 inches) How about the CK20?<br>

I am located near Fresno CA. One dealer I talked to wanted $15,900 for a CK20 HST with a loader. The other wanted $14,000. Are those reasonable prices? From the web, it appears I could get a much better deal if I drove either to Texas, Michigan or to Alabama to purchase the tractor, but then that is about a 3,000 round trip.<br>

Those type lights are available in the mid-west at places like Home-Depot, Menards or any farm type store. The ones I've seen have a heavy glass globe to protect the lamp. Happy Shopping

Definitely the torque wrenches, manuals, & volt meter like Ken said as well as the above mentioned. I would want some air impact guns, air ratchet, 6 pt. impact socket & swivel socket set, prying and alignment bars, tap and die sets, easy outs, a good stereo/CD player, and a killer pin up calender! I think the pressure washer, a welder and sound proof walls are must haves too. ;-) I still need to work on my welding and the occasional verbal slip up.

Much like Tom says, it has been my experience the timing mark is on the crank gear and not the crankshaft. With #1 piston at TDC on compression stroke the marks should line up. You definitely need the shop manual for this one to verify all is as it should be. There will usually be a series of pictures along with the write-up covering this. Have you called the Cub dealer and asked to speak with one of the mechanics? My dealer has no problem at all with this if I have a tech question. Give them a try. Good luck!

The 5205 is much more of a tractor, and with the amount of property you have I don't think you would go wrong with that model.

I'm inclined to agree with the above mentioned. 15 acres is ALOT of green to cut. I cut about 8 acres about every 10 days on average during the growing season and I am glad to have the 4410. I use a 72' MMM but I am obsesive about checking for rocks and debry. It is no brush hog. In heavy grass the engine still can get loaded down. Marks comment about towing it yourself is very valid. Mine is not so bad to tow in a tandem axle trailer with the loader and MMM removed, but all the trailer can handle with them on. What really piled the weight on was loading the rear tires. You can get all you want to cut done with the 4110 but not real fast. If you are wanting the small frame 4000 Ten Series tractor at least consider the 4115 with the substantial increase in hp and torque as well as a bit larger frame. Personally I would think the 4310 or 4410 or larger would be more in line from what you describe. They will give you the performance as well as leave you capacity for jobs you have not though of yet; which always seems to be the case. Rent one and see how it works out for you if you have any doubts. Definitely demo ALL the models you think you might have any interest in and go with what suits you best. Good luck!

I have seen several of these newer style limiting setups...primarily on B7500 units. I personally, use a 650 Woods Backhoe with a 3pt hook-up, that I have had since the late 1980's. So long as the check chains / turnbuckles are kept TIGHT, the hoe framing offers little ability to twist in the cavity of the tractor mounts. As Art mentioned earlier, the tractor is strengthened by the subframe of the FEL, of which anchors to and extends,from the tractor's nose frame, to mid frame, to rear frame, and is mounted to several different areas besides. Even for heavy residential use, this set-up has proven to be very strong and long lasting.
From what you have described, you have considerable experience with larger toys as well. Keep it tight, and you should not have any problems.
