Doc, I grew up with the guy that pretty much handles the sales and logistics at my NH dealership. He's a good guy but the bottom line is he's a salesman and he works for someone else. He may always have my best interest at heart but there's this distrust I have for salesmen, especially when it comes to anything with an engine in it. Perhaps it's a psychological problem on my part. What I may do is request that I be present at the dealership when they do the check. That way they can't cry about the cost of sending someone up here.

I don't know about 'tame tigers' but I'll tell you the mostly 'tame widcat' I live with is nothing to mess with, especially if provoked.

As for charges, they're not 'mock' at all, I get the bills at the end of every month to prove it too.

The only safe spot I have found is the shop, she doesn't go out there, she says she gets dirty just walking past the place so she rarely enters, I keep the 'provisions' in an old fridge aquired for just such purpose and she doesn't get to them either.

A colleague of mine has several clients with properties which because of terrian require specialized equipment to cut the grass, usually this is done with a Steiner. The problem is a simple one, he wanted to replace his aging Steiner with a new one but the sticker shock for replacement was holding him back. He also wanted to purchase a second unit so as to speed up production time, but the cost of one was high, the cost of a pair was unworkable.

He resolved the problem by purchasing a convetional self-powered tow-behind mowing unit, but then changed the hitch around so that it was in fact being pushed instead of towed. The power unit is a 4WD ATV on turf tires. It worked so well he purchased a second unit soon after, he claims it does every bit as good a job as the Steiner but was half of the cost.

You didn't say you needed a brush hog but the new L-2800 would eat a 790 loader up, when you get the L-3400 you can run the bush-hog and still have far more for your money.

Unless you are going to be cutting the grass and a little loader work then a 2210 would be fine. But if you are going to do more try a 4110 or 4115. The price differents isn't that much. But then you know for a little more you could have a 4210 and a little more a 4310. Just watch yourself or you'll come home with a fully loader 4710 or 5220. I have seen it done. But to me a 2210 is just a X585 on a different frame. So it a garden tractor not a compact.

I would give him may be $2000 for it a throw away the tractor and keep the loader and mower. If they used ether on the motor then the piston heads and rings are shot. I bought my 955 for $8500 from a dealer who had gone through the who thing already and replaced anything that would break in the next 250 hours of operation. It had 951 hours on it with a mint loader and a beat mower deck. Plus the owner of the dealer is a friend of mine and really wanted this trade in off the lot. Just got to look hard enough to find what your looking for, it took me 2 years.

I would run tubes in any R-4 tire, especially if you are running lower pressures. I had the bead pop loose with R-4's on my 4115.

If it had had a tube I could have fixed it myself instead of dismounting the wheel and taking it to a tire store.

I couldn't see spending another $1200+ on a new implement when I already had a box scraper and a rear blade. That is why I adapted my existing box scraper and rear blade to drag scraper with a couple of twists.

My design uses a combination of the three point hitch and a mechanical top link to set a repeatable cutting depth. The other feature I wanted was to convert back to a box scraper with a minimum of effort and it does that.

Our trench silos had plastic linings to make them air tight, but they still had concrete walls. Once the trench was packed, it would get another covering of plastic.

We had a pretty large farm (1000 acres 95% tillable). The oldest developed part of the farm had the trench silos and the house and barns near them are nearly 100 years old. In the late 1950s, my parents built a newer house on a different part of the farm and trench silos were replaced with newer technology. They retired in the late 1970s and built another house on another part of the farm and sold off most of the tillable land.

You could for a little cheaper and still be a deere. Get a 70 loader, not a 419 loader. A 70 will fit and you might be able to find a used one or get a new one from the dealer. I saw one go on ebay for $2000 and it looked like it had never been used. I have a 70a loader on my 955, it a good loader, the bucket could haven been designed better. But it was design something like 15 years ago.

Talk to you dealer, it shouldn't do that. I use to run a JD 1070 w/loader and backhoe. It never did that. It did jump when you let the clutch out to fast, but thats probly because of the weight of the backhoe. If it that new, it probly has a factory defeat.

To the best of my knowledge, Farm Pro is a Chinese tractor. The sheet metal appears identical to the tractors Northern Tool sells.

Local Kubota dealer has a B2400 in excellent shape with 192 hours on it for $12K that he took in trade on a larger model. Is the price fair and does this model have a good reputation?

Back in the mid 90's I owned a convenience store with gas pumps. Every fall the distributor would call and ask for the tank readings for the diesel so they could make winter blend from the summer stuff. They would then send a truck with kerosene and mix it with the fuel in the diesel storage tanks. The final ratio was about 2-1 (2 gals diesel and 1 gal kero). This was the winter blend. All deliveries after the mix were then winter blend.

I think the 1910 is one place where there's an error in the tractortips data. My 1710 has 23 dot something pto hp and 1910's have about 4 more hp. I've noticed the error before and suppose I should e-mail them. The displacement likely is right since my 1710 is a bit over 85 cu. in.

Overall they are good tractors and there are still several in commercial service around here. They are fairly well supported by NH although some parts aren't in inventory and others are obsolete. My 1710 has an optional synchromesh TX that also has live pto. The 12x4 synchromesh TX is very desirable. In addition to live pto, it can be shifted from foreward to reverse on the fly for loader work. The optional 12 x 4 TX has one shifter on the steering column and the other on the TX.

The hydraulic capacity is decent for an older tractor. I think 1910's have about 8gmp to the hydraulics whether it has PS or not. PS is driven from the main pump on these tractors so the rated flow is not what you get for hydraulic operations if it has PS. I have heard an opinion that the front drive shaft to differential coupling isn't particularly strong and it may be wise to avoid 4wd use on high traction surfaces and take it easy going into piles with a loader. I haven't had any problems myself nor I think have most owners. I do have turf tires which limits load on the front drive a bit.

My main complaint is that the PS steering is pretty weak with a loader and turf tires and quite a bit of 3ph ballast is needed to keep the steering reasonably light. Rather than running on, I'll be happy to respond to any additional questions.

I have a B8200 4WD HST and drag a 4' rotary cutter for clearing / cutting often and I'm very happy with it. I've never pulled a blade behind it but it pulls my 5 foot cultivator though heavy, rocky soil easily. My manual gives 250kg as the max weight for the 3ph.

don't buy the tc25. it is very under powered, because it is the same size machine as the tc29.that's why the discontinued it. shopping my self. got a price on a tc24, gear drive/with turf or industrial tires 60"mmm and a 54" fel for 15,500.00 also check out the NH tc30 great economy compact at a great price. or if you like john deere, check out the 790. both are 30hp 4x4 deisel no frills compact tractors and the prices are great.making my decision in the next 3 days . good luck

The 2554 does not have a syncronized transmission or forward/reverser.
Did you look check into the 3054 ? The 3054 has sycro. tranny and foward/reverser ,30HP for around $11,000.With loader around $14,000.
