Has anyone had any GOOD experiences with TYM/Scorpion/<br>
Mahindra dealers as you were looking to purchase.<br>
Not talking about the tractors, I do believe the product<br>
is a good one. However Tractor like anything else will only be<br>
as good as dealer/service.

A couple of pigs for butchering are not much of a problem. The problems arise when you are raising dozens or hundreds of pigs. My least favorite time was when they had little ones. As I said, it was in the worst weather. You always had to worry about the adults squashing the littles ones and sometimes the boars were a problem.

On one occasion a boar came up behind my dad and sunk a tusk into his leg at the ankle and ripped the back of his leg open up to the knee. It took over a hundred stitches to close. There were also accidents involving other big hogs and we would hear about small kids that were killed nearly every year. But these injuries were all on large production farms that raised pigs. Keeping one or two is a different matter entirely.

Hogs can also get pretty domesticated and if they become pets, it creates other difficulties. Never name a hog that you intend to eat.

I'm sure you'll be happy with the 7308 - there aren't many complaints about them. When the loader is installed you might ask the dealer to check the hydraulic pressure and verify that it's adjusted correctly at the relief valve. There have been reports from NH owners that valves have been incorrectly adjusted at the factory, causing the loader capacity to be reduced accordingly. You want to be able to get full use from your expensive new loader.

After a while you will know which gears work best if a given situation. It is a lot easier to stop at the bottom of the hill and choose a lower gear there.

When in doubt, it is certainly wise to pick a gear too low and lose a little time than to select one too high and get into trouble.

Joe, you're going about it the wrong way, find a big heavy old flail mower, the kind with a continous tail roller. It will take a lot less power to run it than a rotary mower, and you wont need to pick it up to clean it, if it even gets any buildup underneath, mine don't. The heavy machine, sitting on that tail roller will also take out a lot of the little humps in the grass.

Then it won't be so bumpy when I put my Super Rebel down on your strip....LOL.

The old fella who lives up the roiad from our hunt camp was born & raised in that area, as were several generations of his family. He spent most of his life in the woods, as did his father & grandfather who were both professional hunters, the timber companies would hire tham to hunt to provide provisions for the workmen.

He told me years ago that he had been taught to completely ignore a charging bear, apparently when one bear spots another in the wild they will often make a mock charge, just to test the reaction of the other. In all but exceptional circumstances the charging bear will either pull up or turn away then just go on about it's business. He claims it's worse to try and shoot the bear because this only escalates the mochk charge into the real thing, a fight for his life. The bear will usually win in this case.

He claims to have been charged countless times over the years, each time he stood his ground and the bear just ignored him. He said one got so close as it went by it brushed his leg.

I'm not sure I want to test the theory, but he is still out in the woods and just fine... OF course with my luck I would find a bear who had never learned that theory...

Besides, I doubt it holds true of bears which have had exposure to humans.

Kubota uses a "backbone" as a sub-frame.

If you look closely where the center or top link for the three point hitch would normally be you should see a 5-6 inch wide, inch thick slab of steel.

From this stiffener there should be some supports running down to the lower hitch arms.

The cloud-point of summer blend #2 can be 20's. Cloud-point is where wax particles start forming in the fuel and they do have potential for slowly clogging a fuel filter.

Most service station #2 is blended for summer or winter use in regions where they're sold, and winter blend is closer to #1. For people who don't go through much fuel, there's a risk of ending up with summer blend in the middle of winter but near as I can figure there's no reason not to use a conditioner that also contains anti-gel. Shouldn't be a worry and you can ask a service station what blend they're pumping. In SC climate, cold weather aids like block heaters likely aren't required. When it's cold, just keep the battery up, use plenty of pre-heat and crack the hand throttle a little more than usual. If it doesn't catch right away, use more pre-heat and try again. Diesels don't benefit from cranking and it just dilutes the oil with fuel.

I don't know the tractor so my comments may be irrelevant. Many Japanese compacts have a manifold block that contains auxiliary system ports for loaders etc, a diverter valve for selecting between aux and 3ph and the system relief valve. You'd find such a block by tracing the high pressure line from the pump to the 3ph. It looks like a block. If it has a pressure relief valve, there's small steel line going to the cases in addition to the larger outlet line.<br>

If the tractor doesn't have a manifold block, I believe the usual solution is to cut the high-pressure line and install fittings to run to the loader valve inlet port. The outlet runs back to the other side of the high-pressure line, and a loader valve that is power-beyond rated is used. Plumbed in this way, the loader or the 3ph will work without changing a diverter valve. You do have to know if the system relief valve is ahead or behind of the loader valve. If it's behind, then protection of the loader system depends on a relief valve in the loader valve.<br>

Use of a manifold/diverter is preferable because the diverter always can be changed to remote so the loader is taken out of the system. Some possible failures of a loader valve would mean that the tractor couldn't be driven without pumping a bunch of oil on the ground. Some tractors do have ports as part of the 3ph or require a different lift-cover to provide auxiliary ports.

I have a Fimco 50 gal tow behind sprayer that I use with a JD 445. I installed wiring from the tractor battery that runs to the back of the tractor. Two wires, one "hot" and one ground with an inline fuse. I also installed a switch box near the seat so turn the pump on and off. Works very nice, and you don't have to fool around with a separate 12v battery. Also use the same setup with my Thompson spreader. Just be sure you put an inline fuse in the system.

Don't get me wrong I love NASCAR. The growth of the sport shows that they have made many of the right moves. On this one I have to say they are off base. There should never be a chance of a guy winning 8 or more races and finishing behind guys with only 1 or 2 wins.

If you look at the point system this year we have a chance that one guy could end up winning 10 or more races and losing. If Kenseth's one win had been a second he could still be beating a guy with close to 10 wins. Lucky he got the win or it would look even worse for NASCAR's point system.

I could care less who wins the championship I would just like it to see it be the guy with the most wins or at least that you'd have to be close to the top guy win-wise.

I don't think that these drivers or crews do anything but bust their buts trying to win but if it's a decision at the end of the race that could mean a big drop in position or not finishing the current point system has to way heavily. It's the old risk vs. reward thing. If you go for the win the lack of any real points bonus for the win has to factor in to the strategy. If you had a big jump in points from 2nd to 1st or even 5th thru 1st it would have to influence your plans and incourage risk taking. I don't mean crazy moves but situations like Ryan Newman gambling with fuel mileage.

I just want to feel like the Winston Cup champ is the driver who had the best year not that he happened to milk a point system. I want wins! :)

We had a Mini Hoe powered by a Honda motor. The thing was so light, you had to leave it hitched to the car/tow vehicle with the trans in neutral and the parking brake on, otherwise, it would drag itself all over the place. It did okay digging 30" deep holes for planting trees, but I wouldn't consider it a serious digger. I'm much more impressed with the BH on the BX22.

Based on the serial number phwiker posted, tractortips data indicates it's a 1995 model. I don't know how accurate that data is though.
