The Smokin Boomer II is now an Oil Leaking Boomer. I found a puddle of oil beneath the exhaust pipe and oil spots on the left front tire after 2 hours of light load operation. Called the dealer and he has never heard of this problem before with the compacts. Dealer is suppose to come get the tractor and look into the problem. I'm sure they will not do what needs to be done to fix the tractor so I'm getting ready to contact New Holland. Any comments from other 1725/1925 Boomer owners would be very helpful. Thanks.

I have a 10 year old Kubota L2550 4WD tractor with a locking<br>rear differential. After I engage the locking lever, it pops out<br>when I start moving. Any ideas? I have been in 4WD mode at<br>the time.<br>

My yanmar excavator has wire around the hoses (like a coil spring) in locations where they are most vulnerable to damage. It makes them pretty tough.

My 1925 has 222 hours and engine runs well. The unit was delivered Dec 1997, from the factory. My only complaint is the stop cable keeps breaking.<br>Dennis

I bought a TC21D in April, with turf tires $11,374.00.<br>I don't know how that compares with other NH dealers but this price was about $150.00 less then the local price for a Kubota b2100.

Bob,<br>I would highly recommend a solid rear mounted unit, preferably the 3pt PTO mount in your case. Having experience with Trac-Vac's<br>

a problem when your lawn is less than flat. Common sense tells us that something higher, than wide, has a tendancy to tip over.
If you head the "enclosed red trailer" route. I would plan on a few modifications as well. Remove the skimpy 3" wide wheelbarrow tires,
in favor of wider/beefier 6"-8" wide turf tires, and consider adding a set of inexpensive leaf springs, from the local Tractor supply store.
Without some degree of suspension, a relatively even surface can make that little trailer bounce around like your going over
speed bumps. "I" never had anything but good luck with the blower units or engines. Unfortunately, I can also tell you from experience,
that forgetting to regularly remove the grass that sucks to the air intake for the cooling fins, will burn the motor up rather quickly!
(Hint: Don't let your friends/relatives borrow your stuff!)
I would also recommend cleaning the housing when used in wet grass or before putting it away for the winter. Wet grass will rust the
housing the same as it does if left on a mower deck. Another perfect use for used motor oil.

Ray,<br>I have used a middle buster plow to trench for drain lines and electric line. It works great and only cost me $100 at Central Tractor (here in PA). I was able to rip through roots and all, lay my line and come back and fill it in with the front loader and I was done. Good Luck, Doug

My TC25D doesn,t have a bumper or brush guard on the front like all the old tractors have. I worried about snagging a limb when mowing and damaging the front end. On the old tractors many of the bumpers look homemade. Does anyone know a source for these?

When my 4300 HST was new, under 10 hours, I had a similar problem. In the middle of cutting grass, box scraping, what ever, the engine would stall as if someone turned the ignition off. After several minutes of cooling, the engine would start again. I took mine to the dealer where attempts to adjust microswitches, changing fuel solenoids, etc., were unsuccessful. Later, a JD factory tech told my service technician to check a thermal fuse located behind the fuse panel. Apparently this safety device was overtemping and killing the ignition. The dealer replaced the fuse link. Since the repair, I have been trouble free at 150 hours. Good luck with yours, I hope this helps. Let us know your outcome.<br>Lou

Tractor is advertised as low hours and same as 1650 JD. The asking price is $6995.00. I am trying to determine if it is worth the asking price and what kind of headache I would have getting parts for maintenance.

Roger's idea sounds real good just for the adjustable top link, but the idea of having the hydraulic quick coupler at the rear of the tractor for other uses also appeals to me even more. An e-mail message to David is enroute.

If you can afford a new tractor, buy one of the 3 brands you listed. Personal preferences aside,you won't get hurt by any of them. If you can't afford a new version of one of these brands, look around for a used unit that fits your needs, in one of those 3 flavors. RUN AWAY from Rhino tractors AT ANY PRICE. They are junk, parts support is woeful, and if you want to get rid of one, you need to dig a hole, because no one will look at one on trade.

I have a 5' KK finishing mower that I pull with a JD 790. It does a very good job. I like the anti-scalping<br>feature. I have heard that KK will soon be coming out with a rear discharge model.
