Congratulations.

I have liked my TC45 since the day I looked at it and I am sure that you will like your tractor as well.

I also got the quick-tach option on my FEL. I have a set of pallet forks that I swap out quite often. I understand that the quick-tach interface is an industry standard and that you can use any attachment for a Bobcat or other skid steer or quick-tach tractor on your loader. I have not needed to rent a special bucket for anything yet, but it is good to keep in mind.

Same story here. When I started using Amsoil it was the only game in town.

Now there is simply no reason to wade through the religious pyramid marketing hogwash to obtain synthetic oil, especially at Amsoils inflated prices.

It seems to me this whole MSDS copywrite discussion is silly. MSDS' are mandated by the government to be made freely available to the public. If you can't copy and paste info that is required to be freely available then it's time to shoot all the lawyers. Wait - didn't that time come about 40 years ago?

I had the fun buggy out for about an hour. I was truelly impressed with what it can do. Photo # 9 is up but not the best. I have to gather all the help I can this weekend to set up this deer blind but If I have time I will try to get a better photo of it in the mudd or something good like running from a black bear. lol. The tractor has 1400 hrs on her now, with never a spit of problems - anywhere or warning, (perhaps this is the warning).

At first I did think a hydraulics problem was the culprit as I could follow (so I thought) the squealy moan through the circuit as mentioned. I worked it in low range with heavy lifting - now noise. I then backed away from the work site in high range, and the noise was present, though weak. Working the hydraulics, hard or easily, there seems to be no noise, and the response is quick and unfaultering.

Whether the 1st gear and reverse gear, use the same gears -I could not say. To the best of my knowledge, this series tractor did NOT have synchromesh transmissions, as "technically" one is suppose to come to a complete stop before shifting to a higher/lower gear select.

I'd like to help but I only know mechanical pto's and gear TX's. When I hear hydraulics and pto's I think of the infernal pto brakes and fortunately I don't have one. I don't think of hydraulic cylinders as making any noise when they actuate except for some fluid noise though. Somebody here probably knows about this drive.

You might say whether the pto has power to it all the time or if it's just free-wheeling.

I don't know how it's used. I don't use mine much and would figure I needed more ballast, smaller bites with implements or different tires if I used it regularly. When I do use it, I drop the engine rpm to near idle speeds before engaging it and I don't steer when it's engaged. It's very hard on locks to engage them if one tire is spinning fast and the other is on a high traction surface.

Generally tractor hydraulic systems don't require bleeding. Any air is pushed through the system back to the reservoir where it bubbles out of before it enters the pump again.

Clogged hydraulic filters and screens are usual culprits when hydraulics have reduced power and I'd change them if there's any doubt about their condition.

I don't know the tractor but you might indicate its HP and also how much the bales weigh. Tractortips says a 460 is around 40 engine HP with 18gpm hydraulics. If it's around there the tractor should be capable of getting most round bales at least off the ground. If it's much smaller the problem may be that the bales weight too much and the hydraulics are stalling. If that's the case you should be able to hear a relief valve opening.

Mark, yep..dealing with Craig Taylor Equipment Co., but one out in Wasilla. They ARE pretty proud of their stuff but it's kinda tough ordering from outside since shipping on heavy implements is breathtaking. I wonder if I could fit a broom on the blower replacing the auger.......? I don't think so but sometimes I start dreaming stuff up. A welder's next.

I have a 4400 and I have a 4 in 1 loader and I was having a similar problem and I come to find out,I had pulled the lever back too far that opens and shuts the 4 in 1 bucket,it was overworking the hydraulics and robbing my power elsewhere.

They have checked the cylinders and say they are OK. They have put on three valves and all leak down. The valve is what the rep is saying does not have tight enough tolerance. The manufacturer of valves have a certain guideline they go by and Kubota is satisfied with this. This is what bothers me the most. If something is not good enough to to do the job, then Kubota should want a tighter tolerance. I guess not enough people has complained about this machine. Maybe not thta many people own the L48. Most own either the L35 or B21. Rep says no problems with these
He also adds that these machines do not have the self leveling valve. So he thinks the problem is with the self leveling valve and the main valve but doesn't know for sure.
It has him shaking his head and all of the mechanics who have looked at it. This is why he is offering me the electric lockoffs if this will satisfy me. I just don,t know whether to put on the lockoffs or ask Kubota to buy the machine back. Other than these problems, I really like the L48. But to me, when you buy something new and pay that much money for it you expect to get something that is not leaking down. Maybe I expect too much.

Just an FYI for you, I ma still not receiving any email notifications. Last week, I could get it to happen, maybe by coincidence, by clicking on the "click here to view your post" tab, however that has failed now too. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The cookies have been updated about five times now with the latest browser, and medium security settings, as it has been right along.

Sounds as though the wife had good instinct regarding the car. Was a sad moment last night when I parked the Cherokee for the last time, it went 50k and the only $$ I put in it was to turn the rotors and replace pads. A couple of things were done under warranty, the most serious was a front wheel bearing. Blew through two sets of those in my S-10 over a period of 100k. I can't believe how well these new tires wear. Those Michelin's were still in excellent condition with probably 25k left in them.

She drove it to the city today and was a bit nervous but the report came back with a thumbs up, so we shall see if she keeps it the 60k it is covered bumper to bumper.
