I missed the unlimited funds part the first time around. The John Deere 790 and 990 are VERY nice tractors for the dollar spent provided you are not wanting hydrostatic drive trans. and on the 990 you cannot get the mid mounted pto as well as some of the bells and whistles. Again, the best advice I could give you would be to go and check these tractors out and demo them, reguardless of color. Kioti makes a nice tractor in this catagory as well. Vince seems to have the most experience with them here as far as I know. I am sure he will post his experiences when he sees this post.

Might be a good thing to throw at the dealer when buying to not let you be down more than four days. Our goal is 5 days maximum. If we pick up with a unit down(lawn partially mowed) we are sending mowers if available to finish.

Sorry Dave, we are Cadet dealers. They have got a great utility veichle and I think it is going to be a good seller overall. I don't know if I made the right desision on what I bought but I'm hoping so. I feel that I can at least get my money back out of it if it doesn't work.

How did the Demo go?? :) I had the gearbox replaced on the mower deck. The o-ring had been sheared apart. Apparently, it was just a fluke, and possibly was not seated 100% from the factory and the gears too the o-ring out?? Not sure. Anyways it was replaced and all is well now.

Attention new GC2300 owners............Please chime in; a question for you all: Do you all here the hydrostatic system, and or pump Buuuuzzzzz, buuuuzzzz at idle after it has been warmed up good, say after a 1/2 hour of use??
I noticed this with mine, and just wanted to make sure this was normal, and see if anyone else had experienced this

Willie or any of the rest of you that are interested; these are the tires I replace the badyear marabomb tires with. They are VERY good tires and wheels at a VERY good price. In fact these are the tires that come standard on Ja-Mar trailers. I went with the bias ply tires.

Does anyone know if kerosene is the same as #1 fuel oil, and if so, can youu mix it with #2 to keep it from jelling in the winter time? Thanks

It is difficult to get everyone to measure the same points on their tractors. I am thinking that I will make up diagrams in Corel and then transfer to JPEGs so everyone can read.

With out heat and complete vapor barrier there is little to keep the heat cycling from causing condensation. Here we get the extreme of cool weather and then the warm moist air arriving from the gulf of Mexico.
The moisture will condense on the cool cement floor and it can rain inside the barn with a metal roof. Heat/air conditioning is the only way of preventing problems.
Machinist tool boxes are wood for a reason. It is best to look for wood or plastic boxes to store your tools in.

I do agree with not using the pressure washer on engines. Oil seals and so forth are designed to keep oil in and don't work well to keep high velocity water out.

I used to race motorcycles in the California desert and the debate about pressure washers or coin operated car washes was alive and well even then. The bottom line is that the guys that would clean off their motorcycle engines at teh car wash may have looked better when the bikes were new, but after a couple of seasons the insides of the motor had rust where the ones that were left "dirty" looked much better inside and generally required fewer repairs.

I have been very careful with my pressure washer since that time. I certainly avoid any area where high pressure water could come near any vent or shaft seal.

I talked with the HM/Case IH dealer the other day and he confirmed that he got a better cost on the NH.
Red is prone fade as the red absorbs in the UV more than the blue. It is difficult to stablize the color for long term exposure.
Being of scotch ancestry, the squeezing the quarter till the eagle screams is a inbred trait so BLUE!!!

Perkins diesel, 3 cylinders, 152 cu. in., 8 forward, 2 reverse (4 speed with hi-lo) 34 hp, weighs about 4065 pounds; manufactured from 1989-1999; value for a 1996 (I guessed at the year) is $7500-$8700. Add $2500-$3000 for the implements.
Also listed is a 231S, made in 2000-2001, 42 hp; value $10700-$11800. With such low hours, it could be this later model. I don't have my book to look up the serial number to find out what year it is and to verify the model.

I appreciate whatever you could find out. I was looking at a used hunk-o-junk on a B8200, I think it was a BF300 (?)if that sounds right. I was interested in just the hoe, and was promptly told by the dealer that either Orange or Woods was due out with this "new" baby size hoe. Go figure...I am with you, it would be like reinventing the wheel at this point in time, but...crazier things have been known to happen. Looking forward to your findings.

lol, now Murf you know where mules carry that stuff dont ya ! lol. Dont hit any big bumps on the way over and keep your legs crossed. I always thought that murphs law was a result of my first marrige :( Now if I were a betting man I'd venture a six pack wager that I'm not the only one here polishing my rolex on sunday morning. Blue and gold looks good on a fountain ! The funny thing about coyotees here is that when I was growing up their were none. Dureing deer season on those silent gloomy cold mornings you can hear them whoopin it up in the cedars. Leave the c4 and just bring your golf cart Murf. If the survey has separate parts for dealer service vs. vehicle quality I've got it made. The dealer is great, but the truck? Well, two engines and four driveshaft assemblies in five years is pretty bad - and it needs yet another engine. Those 4.0L V6's from the late 90's are really crap.
