I can't comment on the NH tractors, but I have about 65 hours on my Kubota B2710, and it is a fine tractor. I run a 5-foot rotary cutter, a finishing mower and a box blade. The loader is very strong and easy to operate. This tractor will pull whatever bite I get with the box blade, and the loader has a surprising amount of digging power. It operates the 5-foot cutter in rough vegetation with ease.

Bob - you didn't mention whether the finish mower is a belly or 3-point, however I too have a B2710 with loader. I also have a 3-point finish mower and a rotary cutter. I bought a new 16' tandem trailer (5000#) with NO brakes, and 5' ramps for $900. I pull it with a 4WD Suburban and don't have much problem stopping it, but I can tell its back there when I stop. I live in a small town and typically haul the tractor 6 miles to my 24 acre property. Most of the time it has the cutter on it, which is much longer than the finishing mower and hangs off the back of the trailer a little. I couldn't use the fold up ramps for that reason. I just throw them up on the trailer and drop the cutter on them to keep them from falling off the trailer while moving.<br>If I was driving in a lot of traffic I would definately go for the trailer brakes, but I don't need them in my situation. I especially didn't want any braking equipment inside my truck. I don't regret buying the

I know how hard it is to get unbiased information when first starting out. So I'll identify my bias up front: I LIKE YANMARS. I think that they have <br>the most sophisticated designs and are built with a goal of having better reliability than many other makes. <br> Yes, the 1500 will do light dirt work IF it is a 4wd with a loader. They are too light to do much real dirt work in 2wd or when only pulling an<br>implement. With 4wd and a loader they will really surprise you. I built a pond, a raised parking area, dug a foundation for a small house, built a<br>driveway, and cut a few hundred feet of trench 4' deep and 6' wide mostly through dirt and rock. All of this was done with my 165D Yanmar 4wd<br>and factory loader. It has turf tires andI normally run chains to protect them from the rocks and to give traction on ice. <br> 254 or 1254 are both low hours for a tractor of this age. I'd believe 1254. It is not even 1/3 used up yet. I would base my decision on condition <br>rather than hours at all times. I've seen ratty-looking ones that run well, but have never seen a nice-looking one that ran poorly. <br> I do not know about shop manuals for specific models. I have an SE5 I use on my B2710. It is my first rotary cutter (and tractor) so I actually read the manual. I believe it says to make sure that when you start lifting the cutter, the front of the cutter (which should be an inch or so lower than the back) will raise a couple of inches before the tail wheel comes off the ground. If I understand it correctly, that is supposed to allow the cutter to follow the contour of the ground.<br>The cutter works great, and seems very well made and durable. I have a similar problem with humps and mounds, mostly LARGE Texas fire ant beds. The first time I cut the field I hit one about every 20 feet and it knocked the RPMs down on the tractor. I'm just finishing the third cutting, and most of the mounds have been knocked down.<br>

I recently purchased a Yanmar YM2000. Everything is written in Japanese except the name and model of tractor. Is it a grey market tractor? I bought it to mow several acres of open field and put 4' Howse mower deck on it and it seems to do a great job. The only thing is I have to put it in gear and then engage the PTO. Do go any other speed or use reverse, I have to stop and take the PTO out of gear and let the mower shaft stop rotating before reengaging it. I don't think this normal. Any ideas?

Since Deere is in such high demand has that caused the prices to be non-competitve to Kubota and NH. If they are more by grand or so I can't see going with them. Has any got some price comps in the 25 HP range?

I've had my 4300 hydro for a while now, have about 20 hours on it and have been very satisfied with it. The loader is very strong and easy to use with the hydro. Only problem I have is that when I make a right turn the right front wheel rubs/grabs the loader hydraulic hoses. I'm afraid it will eventually rub a hole or even tear the hose loose. My dealer gave me some rubber hose protectors that wrap around the hose and are secure with ties, but the wheel hits that and just knocks it up out of the way. Anybody have any suggestions?

I have had two made for different tractors. A hydraulics shop started from a standard hydraulic cylinder and welded Category I top link swivel ball joints directly to small extension plates and then welding these assemblies to the cylinders. The extensions are needed to provide clearance at the tractor and implement connections. I connect these cylinders to auxiliary hydraulic outlets at the rear which are controlled by a valve and lever near the operator. Cost for each cylinder was about $200. Rear hydraulic outlets were already there.

All the comments are good so far. be sure to remember that all the ballast in the world won't help you if you go sidehilling with the bucket full and the mast high. There is something to be said for the rush you get when your tractor rolls over for the first time. You need to be careful. As soon as the wheels come off the ground you will know. <br>If you need to haul a load across a hill do it at the flat and then climb to the point you need the fill. DON

My 4300 hydro did the same thing. My dealer adjusted the parking brake and the problem was resolved. Prior to the adjustment the tractor would only pull about 2300 rpm at transport speed in range C. After the adjustment the tractor will run about 2850 rpm at full transport speed. On a long hill it will drop back to about 2700 rpm. Since this is the rpm the tractor is rated at for full power I am satisfied.

Could someone Please tell me the best way to replace a lower shaft grease seal on my Allied Brush Hog.<br>Can this be done without going into the gear box?<br>It looks like it can be done, if I can get the old one out, but I'm not sure if this is the way to go.<br>Has anyone any replaced one this way?<br>Thanks

the transaxles on the 112 is the same in the 212 the only difference is the shifter but you can switch them but when swiching them make sure it is in neutral<br>

I have an L3010 HST too. First this is the pedal is not a gas pedal, it is for the HST trans only. The fuel is on the column. You did not say how many hours you have on the tractor. My tractor ran a little warm until it started breaking in. The more hours I have on the tractor the better it pulls and the temp is staying in the lower norm. range. And do check you fluid level as suggested. Good luck

Being that we are in the middle of a heat wave I thought that it would be a good time to ask a question about snow throwers. This winter I will be doing snow removal with a Kubota L4310. (36 PTO HP) The tractor is 62.4 inches wide. My question is what would be the best choice of three point hitch mount snow thrower for this tractor? I am particularly concerned about how far it will throw the snow. The job that I do, I previously handled with a John Deere 420 garden tractor and the 48 inch two stage thrower. I end up throwing a large amount of the snow twice because it can't toss it far enough on the first few passes. Just another 10 or 15 feet would make the difference. Kubota would be a very distant 2nd place runner with me.. I personally would rather have the John Deere.. For many reasons. Nobody makes a more user friendly Loader to pop on & off. The Hydrostacic pedals on A John Deere is hands down superior to Kubota. You can use your right & left pedals while operating Hydro Drive with a John Deere. Loader frame comes completly off on a JD. And the awesome universal lever stays on the tractor.. to control other impliments on JD. And the grill guard stays on tractor now too.. So, I don't know your financial situation but, if you have the means get the JD... and get 4wd HYDROSTATIC.. a 4200 HST or 4300 HST are both awesome tractors.. so don't pick the Kubota just because it seems cheaper... its like buying computers.. we all would be better off in the long run if we just spent a few extra bucks and got the Macintosh!!!<br>so don't cut yourself short..!!! get the JD if you can...
