Murf, your area and ours ran about the same.
I still feel about six days right now but we still have no lack of moisture. We had a 3/4" dump last nite and more coming from the Atlantic which you will also see.

You'll get a kick out of this but in high school Dad used to send me out to change the blowers to mowers and vise-virsa. I did a lot of those model 125 I had nearly 10 of that model alone. With a oil change and general lube greasing and going over tractor setting the points or replacing, plug was about 45 minutes to an hour on site. Can't do it any more as I don't think I could remember which tools for where but there are a few tricks to do it.

The technician first updated the tractor with PIPs to
fix the intermittent stalling problem; during the update, he had to refer to the 'printed' manual he had to determine what to diagnose when the tractor refused to do anything after the first controller update (turned out he needed to calibrate the transmission; but calibration failed, and we ended up using
my multimeter to diagnose the throttle potentiometer was out of specification; he went back to the shop, stole a throttle potentiometer off a demo tractor, replaced mine, and then got a different flashing code. Eventually figured out
that during calibration steps, he was lifting himself off the seat to determine when the rear wheels started to turn (a step during the calibration) and this triggered the 'no one in seat' sensor that interrupted the calibration phase: moral for any budding technicians out there: during calibration - stay in the seat !
The whole exercise was interesting to help with but alas, didn't solve the
intermittent stalling problem; tractor is now in the shop having multiple updates, harnesses changed (at last call, they were waiting for another harness to replace). This is under warranty, but eventually I'll have to do this myself given the time it takes to diagnose something, I won't be able to afford the hourly labor rate to let them diagnose; I'd rather diagnose, then pay them to just fix the problem.

I'll post (if I find out) all the PIPs they applied when I finally get my tractor back (hopefully Thursday - I have a pile of dirt to move before the hurricane :) hits southern ontario ...)

How much Berrymans did you put in how much fuel??? Berrymanns if DEFINITELY NOT what you want to put in diesel fuel. Berrymanns is a strong solvent with chief amongst its constituents acetone. NOT what you want to put into a diesel. This is worse than mixing gasoline with the diesel. Depending on the concentration, this may have caused or contributed to a head gasket failure if it did not do more damage to the engine. Berrymanns has explosive ingition characteristics. A compression check will verify the you prognosis. NEVER put anything but a diesel fuel additive or conditioner in diesel fuel. For severe cold use, mixing in some kerosene is OK but not gasoline additives. Hope it is something else. Let us know what you find out. Good luck on the repair.

I want a small Yanmar to do some wildlife food plots and mowing. Will a 1110D (at about 990 lbs) handle a small bush hog? I dislike wheelies EVERYTIME you raise the lift! Sometimes it just happens, but I really like to feel like the front wheels can remember where the ground is. I anticipate using a small disk and bush hog of 48 inches or less and maybe my "sleve hitch" 10 inch bottom plow.<br>

FYI I currently am using an old Yazoo mower, a real old Yazoo tiller and a 1964 JD 110 with a 10 inch bottom plow so you should know that high speed performance is not my concern.<br>

I crawlerd under there today and removed the cotter key and the linkage.

With the linkage removed, I can put a pipe wrench on the shaft that engages the PTO and rotate it fairly easily to engage the PTO.

The linkage when disconnected moves freely. I've always thought the linkage was flimsy. I'm guessing that it the rod isn't perfectly straignt, it can flex instead of putting downward pressure on the cam that rotates the shaft.

I cannot speak from personal experience but LTG Dick Cody (prior to the current Division Commander of the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault) had an LT 150 and he liked it. Kept his lawn looking good in his post housing area. He was a John Deere guy hard core.

I used 1/4" tubing and wished I had used 3/8th. Air comes out of most water inside the tube and bubbles can form air locks that really throw off the level. I still use my 1/4" level but it takes the bubbles a long time to rise through 30' of 1/" tube (half my level length). Air rises a lot faster in 3/8th tubing.

The reservoir idea on the fixed end is good. A large enough reservoir in relation to the volume of water in the tube and for most purposes you don't have to re-calibrate the level when you move one end. 3/8" tubing holds more water than 1/4"and takes a larger reservoir to achieve the same accuracy.

Lazers are dandy but a water level can check the level between points that don't have a sight line. You just have to be sure you don't get an air lock at the top of anything the tubing goes over, and it can't go over anything higher than the tubing ends.

For checking grades I tie the ends onto some lighting stands I have and then measure down to grade along a plumb line. It works better if there's a bit of a head of water at each end of the tubing. I can just raise the stand at the low end to get about 10' of head if I need to.

Paul put something heavy on the 3ph and lift it a couple of 6 or more times and look for your leak. I would focus on fittings or connections.

That is about the best I could find in NY. I ended up shipping one in from NC. The tractor was a 4115, with 410 FEL & 60" bucket, R4 Tires, 60MMM. Total price $16200 plus $800 shipping and no tax.

I have a brand new Farmtrac 60 with 5320 loader, boxblade and 6ft bushhog. The tractor is great. Nice powerful 50 hp 2wd old style tractor. Drive train is interchangeable with Ford 3610. Tractor is made in India by the same folks who built the Ford models.

I've put about 10 hours on the tractor doing boxblade, loader and disc work.

Even with unloaded tires and only a box blade for rear weight I'm able to fill the loader bucket with sandy loam/clay.

The placement of the differential lock pedal is perfect. Works very well in pulling through slick conditions. I also really enjoy shifting the weight back to the rears with the loader when I put the fronts in a ditch.

Used the boxblade on my dads 1/2 mile drive. Worked well. Pulled well in 3 low.

Used the tractor with a old 5 ft bush and bog disk with about 18" disks on old roadbed where I had previously removed small trees and brush. No problem in 1 low pulling the disks through the new ground.

After repeated passes was able to cut and smooth roughed out driveway bed with loader.

Only dislike is the gears are stiff. They are loosening with use (would appreciate any break in tips). I did bang my knuckles a few times.

Worked the tractor over two days for over 7 hours. Used about a gallon of diesel per hour.

Tractor is not a modern design or 4WD but suits my needs.
