I think what counts is a consistent position each time. Most manuals I have seen say to put all the implements at rest and of course you would shut the engine down.

My 4115 has a sight glass on the transmission along with a dip stick. When I installed the front blade I had to purge air from the new hydraulic circuit and sure enough the level in the sight glass disappeared.

So I went off to the dealer to get a quart of the right stuff and by the time I got back the level was back up where it belonged.

So I guess you should also let it sit for a while so everything can drain back and find equilibrium.

Can anyone help me determine if this is a good price? L3300 tractor with an LA480 loader and a Bradco 9MD2 backhoe, 2500 hrs. Not sutre of the year. They're asking $17,900. I haven't operated the unit but it looks henerally OK. No leaks, etc. This is a private party who is selling it.

Just for future reference, I've decided to take my boat motor apart and do a little playing. I couldn't find my old poleroid but I took my digital and started taking pictures of the engine and compartment. Mainly of all the controls and how they are fastended and operate. I might have this apart for the winter time and I know it will help in assembly. I found doing this helps to not wind up with extra parts?

I wish I had a picture of a load of Cherry and Butternut that was in 9'to 11' Logs length being loaded on to a truck. It was a ten wheeler and it did have to be moved a couple of times as the 20 plus logs 15" the smallest up to about 28" butts couldn't be stacked very high because the BX22 Kubota didn't have enough weight so he had to make four piles. He did have to use low range to pull them up the hills on the 1/4 mile pull from the woods to the house driveway to get them hauled out. Unfortunatly I missed the first load that went out! When you guys doubt the capacities of this tractor and say you need more I just wonder why! This tractor also cleans his driveway at home and his place of buisness, mows his 7 acres of lawn and tills a couple of acres of gardens.

They're more expensive because most of them have their own frame and hydraulics. Other than the fact that I don't have a mid-pto to run a front blower, I wouldn't want one even at the same price as a 3ph mount type. I need both a blower and a loader to the work I've got to do. If I had much longer runs, I might think a front blower and rear blade would be better.

If there might be a MMM in the future, It'd be good to check if one of the JD loaders is compatible with a MMM. Few after-market loader frames and some factory frames as well aren't compatible with MMM's and loaders have to be removed to mount MMM's. Lots of people are doing that and maybe some owners would do it even if their loaders and MMM did work together but having an option would be good.

Below is a link to an archive discussion about loader relief pressure. Looks like drjvc came up with around 2,100 lbs. and many are set at 1,800.

However, what's correct depends on what the goal is. A dealer should be able to say what the factory specs for their loaders are. If there's a tendency for relief pressures to be set low from the factory it may be because the design engineers did a rethink and decided that less power would increase loader life, or maybe is another corporate liability legal issue. What's correct may be different for your goal than for corporate goals.

Well, I did some really dumb arithmetic early yesterday morning--now corrected. A 35A rated alternator puts out 420W max at 12V or about 500W at charge voltage. W = A x V--wonder what I was thinking?

To answer the question the total power requirements and the rated alternator outputs need to be known. However, if the heat is electric, I'd guess that a larger alternator would be a good idea. You'd need a larger battery too if the power requirements exceed the alternator output since the battery would carry the load until it discharges and then the load will drag down the alternator voltage and the regulator will limit output. The tractor likely has a main fuse that usually is 30A for a 35A rated alternator. Chances are that the cab would have to be wired directly from the battery through an in-line fuse. A heavily loaded alternator isn't likely to keep a battery fully charged.

In terms of HP, 1hp = 748W. Max alternator output would take less than 1hp.

Hydro's need oil just as Mark said. You should run it as suggested even if it is light loader work. If you are just traveling around your property then 1/3 throttle would be fine other than climbing hills.

Your logic is understandable. I was coming from the direction of the current TC33 using the 7308 for both SS and non-SS models. I don't have one but I'm curious as well.

I spoke with my JD dealer today and he said it was normal on the 2210 to get some seap unless kept at full throttle. I have been moving dirt with it all day and man is it slick. Thanks for the input. Trailmaker

I am over fifty (well over) and have been looking at compacts to make my life easier but every time I get almost close enough, I lose some of my income, my Property taxes go even higher... So I don't get it because I figure I will just have to sell out and go to a smaller place where I won't need it..... And so it goes......<br>

The issue is you have the big place and you need a bigger machine to maintain it, because you cannot do the work you could in your forties. But you put off the purchase because you think hey I really should move to a smaller place down in FL or out west. Some place cheaper than where you are now.<br>

And if you are moving someplace smaller you need a big diesel to sell like a whole in the head.<br>

So to put my problem in a question form. If you are only thinking of staying someplace that needs a tractor for a couple of years 2-3 max is it financially a bad idea? How can you sell a tractor without taking a real beating, I don't see any tractors for sale around here that aren't tag sales for garden tractors 20 + yrs old and that sounds like a beating.<br>

Just received two price quotations for a NH TC33D w/4wd/hydro/R4 loaded tires & 7308 FEL for $18,500 and $18,050. Both located in the Rochester, NY area. Too high?
We don't pay tax in this area because tractors are for agricultural use. Anybody else find this so?

Well after all this time I finally got a straight answer from the JD dealer on the JD genset use with the 2210. He says no problem to use it, it could even be used on a slightly larger machine. I am thinking certainly no bigger than a 4115 which is key to me as I have plans to trade up. He assures me that the warranty will NOT be voided even though it is billed for the X series. Now if I could just make up my mind. Started at $1,750 but after a LOT of time came down to $1600. Dave

For the tractor that you have asked us about it is much like an older Ford like your Dads. I would take a serious look at what you choose to buy in the future to be sure that the used one you buy will fit all the attachments you want for the new one. The loss of investment to trade all might not be freindly news.
