I keep my implements on timber blocks on soft ground. A pry bar with the tip sunk in the ground levers them around easily. My side leveler has a crank, when one lower link arm moves up the other moves down. If an implement isn't square to the tractor and one lower link pin is made, an implement can be nudged square with a pry bar or by moving the tractor a few inched forward or backward with a HST. I have gears and sink in the loader bucket and move the tractor with the bucket curl sometimes. A block left under the rear of an implement will keep the distance close enough for the top-link to reach.

I sometimes wish for TnT but mostly when I'm cutting side grades with a box scraper. sometimes I wish for quick hitches but I don't change implements a bunch of times during a day. When you get the hang of it, swapping implements goes quickly and easily with just the regular equipment. I used to struggle with them and use heavy hammers and all sort of stuff. It's rare now when I have to struggle to get the finger loose either putting them in or taking them out. It's just a knack that most owners develop their first tractoring summer.

Correct, the Yellow is heat. You probably have a bad heat sensor. Run about $10 to replace, it is on the left side of your block at towards the bottom. Red is oil Pressure.

I had the same thing happen on our used riding mower. Somebody hadn't bolted the heat shield back on. The shield is kind of a box. It eventually fell completely out of the mower and got really chewed up by the mower blade. The plastic grill was melting a little while the shield was loose but melted a lot during few times I mowed when the shield was completely off. I couldn't get a new shield easily and eventually banged the old one back in shape as best as I could.<br>

I repaired the grill with fiberglass. I used a Drimmel tool to grove the plastic across the weakened area of plastic and provided a margin of several inches around the area. I also roughened the entire area with a wood rasp and cleaned it with lacquer thinner. I applied 3 ply of fiberglass cloth across the area and an extra two ply where the plastic was reinforced.<br>

The patch isn't pretty but it's on the inside. It has also held up OK for several years.<br>

Plots, we discussed DFA briefly on another strand. This is directly related to the Duramax so I will continue here. power Service DFA is definately not the product to use in the Duramax. It seperates the water in the fuel which due to the high pressure of the common rail system can be forced through the fuel injectors and pump causeing a lot of damage. You can get more info on the GM web site but the only GM approved DFA are Stanadyne and Racor. Dave

A regular hoe is a pretty expensive thing to have just because it may be handy. If money is no particular object then why not?

3ph hoes are less expensive and may be appropriate to an idea of occasional light use. There is a bunch of discussion in the archives about stress on the tractor frame from 3ph hoes and possible serious damage to the tractor. My hoe is a 3ph type. I've had it for five years without problems. My use has been occasional and light after the first year but it's good to inform yourself about the stress issues before thinking seriously about a 3ph hoe.

AC's comment about digging depth and moving is good to note. Most hoe's rated digging depths are for 2' bottoms. To get max depth, the boom and stick have to be pretty much straight down from the tractor and then you get 2' of trench at best before having to move the tractor. Moving a tractor every 2' of trench ends up taking a lot of time. In addition, digging trenches at max depth is one thing but digging deep shallow excavations is another. You don't want the tractor close to a deep excavation wall because walls collapse. The only way to dig close to max depth is to dig close to the tractor or to terrace the excavation walls.

I find that 5' is about the max practical digging depth for my 6' hoe and I'm a lot happier with 4' depths. It might be good to scan building and electrical codes in your area to see how deep a hoe may have to dig and then get one a bit larger than those depths.

Sorry, my question was definitely about power, not safety. I think that the hill is steep enough that I would prefer to mow up and down the hill rather than across it.

I bought my B7800 in late June as the 0% deal was set to end on 6-31. Seems like Kubota keeps extending the 0% deal every month, sooner or later they're going to pull the plug though. If you are serious about buying, and can find the machine you are looking for in stock, go ahead and go for it!

I put a down payment on this tractor today. The dealer is trying to find one in Ohio. The dealer is local to me. Rex Murphy, Mechanicsburg Implement, 937-834-2307. I got a few extra goodies (BL80A posthole digger, 9 inch auger, rear work lights, quarter panel defogger kit, radio mount kit) that raised the final price to $30,900.

The cab is essential to getting my wife to use this tractor. I work 70+ hours per week, so getting my wife to mowe our newly acquired 6 acres will be huge. My wife has allergies and a horrible aversion to cold (snow blowing);).

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely check the true pressure and then go from there. The oil used this time was a different brand. This oil (15W40) was for diesels, but I believe the last oil change, I used an oil from Agri Supply for farm equipment, so I'll check that also. Thanks again.

I've never seen or read about any other MF 711 skid steer loaders. Do I have an odd ball? I had a Massey Ferguson dealer tell me that I can't own one because he couldn't find it in his book. Yet with a description another dealer was able to locate filters for this model. Also, any idea of fair asking price? 4 cylinder gas air cooled engine, hydrolics slowing down over time

I guess I would rather not spend the money on different tires right now. Besides, for all the different kinds of stuff I do with my tractor the r4's seem to be pretty good for just about any of it. I think they look good too... makes the tractor look more rugged than turfs... anyways, I guess I will just keep my eye open for a good seat somewhere. Northern has a few, maybe I will check them out... or maybe I should just trade the whole tractor in on a new 2910 with a good suspension seat... probably not.

I use UTF (universial tractor hydraulic fluid) in my 750 with no problem. I did have some foaming problems during some heavy digging with it and some cheap fluid. If you can get some UTF with anti -foaming qualities, it's better.

I agree with the others here. You would probably do well to pass on this deal. How much are they asking for it? The only info. I could find was on a 1982/83 YM220 which is worth maybe $2000 at best in great shape. Not sure if this is the same tractor as the YM 2200.
