That's pretty funny :) Speaking of which I really like those Mill Creek mini-spreaders, one would look great behind my 790! Would be nice to find a cheap one used but they are often times too large for my use.<br>

It also reminds me the farmer I go to has a son of about 16, I know he really likes working with the father. I was helping because the son was away for the week. I was going to ask if the son was intending on continuing the family tradition after school/college. You really have to like the way of life or the $$$ from the real estate developers would be very tempting.<br>

Art, I agree with you about muddy conditions, but I got the impression reading the original post that he was talking about hard soil that got slick on the surface when wet, not particularly muddy.

My soil gets like that and it is like ice when it is wet. The cleats still don't sink into some of the places well. In the sandy areas, it doesn't make much difference whether it is wet or dry, but may even be slightly better.

Where I grew up in MO with black dirt and plenty of mud, we always used R1s and there were only a few times that those tractors were stuck. But when they were stuck, they were really stuck. (as in up to the axles and frame)

I have read in Deere literature that the 61" bucket on the 410 loader is designed for light bulky materials, like feed I would guess.

Ducatti: the 4115 has the "feel" of a larger, heavier machine when compared to the 4110. The added wheelbase really feels like it gives more stability, especially when using the loader, and more traction for some reason. A lot more traction.

You can connect your generator through a second breaker in the panel. This is a good added insurance policy and you can select the style and capacity of the breaker to set whatever protection point you want.

I would select a two pole breaker rated for 4 amps per KW of power generated or the nearest standard value. So for 5KW of Continuous power generation I would use a 20 Amp two pole breaker connected to the 220/240 VAC outlet on the generator. A breaker sized this way will allow for some peak running. For additional safety, you can reduce the size of the breaker. A 15 amp breaker will handle a 5KW generator connection for a significant period of time.

The type of breaker used is important. Typical breakers can handle high overloads for a significant period of time. Some breakers are rated for 200% rated capacity for 1 hour. Others will trip at 125% after a few minutes. The second type is better for protecting a generator. These are used specifically to protect electronic equipment rather than general purpose or motor circuits.

Depending on your codes, this may be a breaker in your main panel, or it might have to be a small separate panel installed with your transfer switch. Remember to connect the neutral to handle unbalanced loads on 110 VAC.

I thought a box blade would be the ticket for my grading needs, however, with the JD2210 I find it difficult to control for fine work. I have a Frontier BB1048 and use it mostly for pulling rock around the driveway, and �rough work� in the dirt. I use the FEL for fine leveling. Just drop the bucket and drag backwards, works great. Many tractors have a knob under the seat that faces forward called the flow control valve. Most flow control valves adjust the lowering speed of the 3ph but don't change the lift speed.

The adjustment is to accommodate different weight implements. If the valve is closed, most lifts can't be lowered and they'll will stay up for a long while especially if there's isn't a load on it. Good chance that's the problem but more later if it's not.

That's correct Tom, In some areas wher smaller field or those that have shorter life spans this is often used. Some prefer fruit tress as every thing grows well there, most use some sub specie of Poplar but The willow would be a good choice as well. Dave

Which oil to use and how much should come from a manual, although universal hydraulic/transmission fluid has been almost universal in compacts for quite awhile. A clogged filter will make the lift run slow.

Blue smoke is oil and could be a worry. I would distinguish between blue and gray smoke because most diesels will make some gray smoke until they warm up to. If it is gray, it could be just a warm up thing or maybe a thermostat that's not completely closing. I'd check the temp gauge.

I would check to see if the engine oil is the right viscosity, but the wrong oil more is moe associated with white smoke. It's more common for an oil burner to burn it at higher temperatures and under power than at idle. If it's blue smoke, I'd check the crankcase breather (if it's an open system) for blowby. I guess oil smoke at idle might be caused by excessive oil under the rocker arm cover or worn valve guides but those problems aren't too common.

No experience with Yanmar parts myself nor do I know the TX. I'm wondering if there's a chance that the gear is intended to be shrink fit onto the race I guess it's a compound bearing and it would be the outside of the outer race that is maybe recessed into the gear. Granted it's a stretch of an idea. I haven't seen anything like that in the TX's I've been into, but it's just a thought. A manual should mention such a procedure if that's the case. If so, the original one might have been loose due to the cracked gear.

Another possibility is that the bearing race has a spur on it due to the original damage. Unfortunately the more likely possibility is that Yanmar has a new OEM supplier and the gears aren't exact replacements.

I did some checking this evening. The R4 tires are in the wide mode. I could see the problem. The hoe had shifted over on it mounts towards the right tire. I dropped the hoe and put it back on and it was centered again. While it was off I made sure the mounts on the tractor were tight. I did trim a bit of an angle off those steps to give it a bit more clearance. You can't tell they were touched by looking at them. It seems fine now. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think to call this a fuel filter problem is wrowng that it should be listed as a feul problemand it does seem to be pointing to the alge problem or simuliar.

I'm looking forward to the mileage thing, even when I'm not pullin the tractor. Will be gettin a 35 ft trailer soon also, and I know my half ton would not cut it with that. It's a work out for it with the tractor behind it.I was also impressed to see a max a the race track out running mustangs and firebirds through the quarter mile with a impressive time of 13.01 - 101mph. WOW screamer Three quarter ton pickup, It wasn't stock though.
