The recall is to replace a thrust washer in the tranny that isn't wearing correctly. My dealer said the factory washer is too soft and is getting warped (bent). They are installing a harder washer to fix the problem. One word of advice: if you need the tractor back right away, don't have it fixed immediately. My dealer is waiting for seals and other parts necessary when the axels are pulled apart. Mine may be in the service bay for three weeks or more. Fortunatley, the dealer gave me a loaner mower...

Change your hydraulic fluid filter. It may be clogged. Had the same problem and that was the solution.

Putting myself in your shoes,<br>I would agree with the idea of purchasing either a sub-soiler or a Middle buster<br>plow. Although the Sub-soiler will not remove the soil as Doug indicated. A blade/loader<br>can also be used to create a v shaped trench. This design will also prove to<br>be more benefitial in allowing drainage, because you have more stone, surface drainage area.<br>Naturally the disadvantages, are that you will be purchasing more stone,finding a home for more<br>dirt, and have a larger exposed stone surface area(Edges of the V). This may be a problem in tight <br>areas. But I think that could be overcome by back-filling dirt, while you are placing stone in the <br>trench. Fortunately,

dozer to perform the deed. You mentioned the fact that you have quite a bit of trenching to complete.
It may be in your best interest,time included to hire a small dozer to perform the initial ground removal,
and complete the remaining back-fill/Drainage pipe portion myself. Because I haven't physically done this,

I am looking at purchasing a Yanmar 226 Diesel 4wd with about 800 hours. It has a shuttle shift and when I put it into reverse, I had to rev it to get it to move. The dealer said it needed an O- ring kit for the transmission. He is installing the kit. <br>Is this a common problem? <br>Does this sound like a proper fix or is there likely something else associated with the problem?<br>The Ag tires and wheels are very narrow on this tractor. Where could I look to get turf replacements? Where can I get a service manual? Any parts dealers in western Canada?

Got a '79 (older) L225. Won't stay in 1st/5th gear or 540 PTO speed. I'm told I need to split and install/replace Main Input Shaft, 1 gear, and some bearings. Since this

1. Is this an afternoon, weekend, or longer job?
2. Is the split/rejoin a real pain?
3. Any other advice/precautions?

I have put 100hrs. on my 4400 w/ 430 loader and have had no problems. I would highly recommend this tractor. A word of caution the 430 loader is very capable of flipping the tractor over if not used with care. I recommend ballast on the 3 point (a good heavy 6' blade works well)woods makes a heavy duty line. also liquid in the tires helps. make sure your dealer greases ALL the hydro linkages. this has caused some people to have sticky hydro pedals. mine are smooth as silk. by the way you will find yourself using the turning brakes. you cannot do that on a kubota.

Dennis,<br>I Have a cheap set, they aren't worth 2 cents more than any other set i've used.<br>My Parents have a Quality (pricey) pair, and seem to have much improved the sound quality.<br>I am assuming partially due to the Cancellation effect. This is hard to measure because<br>it is designed to lessen any noise, but we all know that 100% elimination is impossible.<br>I think you will be disappointed with this feature on a tractor, but it may help. <br>Assuming they are only slightly higher priced, I would probably still opt for them. <br>But I think you will see the biggest benefit from a pair that has the large rubber type<br>ear surrounds, instead of the foam type. Normally used on the small, cheap sets.<br>Stay away from those little nubbie types, not only are they a pain in the A^&, but they<br>were partially & purposely designed to allow outside noises from entering. This is useful<br>if your wife is calling for dinner, while you are listening to music. Volume is the only 100%<br>way I know of, to truely cancel sound. Of, Course it can cancel your hearing as well.<br>FYI, all earsets concentrate the sound waves directly into your ear at a more intense<br>level than normal. 85db at 1 hour, I think is the threshhold of ear damage. Unlike surrounding<br>noises, 85db from earsets isn't very hard to achieve.

Don't believe everything you hear. I don't know whether you were on the board back<br>last Aug. - Nov. when I had bought my original 1725, and had so much trouble with it<br>that NH replaced the tractor with the TC29. NH & my dealer tell me I'm one of the<br>few people that have had experience working with both models. Believe me, the TC's<br>are better built than the old ones. The engines in the old ones had some problems,<br>and they've been completely redesigned in the TC models.<br>Don't be afraid of the TC's! I can't recommend them highly enough. Mine has done mostly<br>heavy loader work, I've used it with a bush hog, the tedder, and now the baler. I've yet<br>to find anything that will bog it down. Mine's the 29, and the 33 has that bit<br>of extra horses, so I don't think you'd have any trouble with what you want to do.<br>

I have been seeing advertisments in the local heavy equiptment trader magazine on several dealers who sell LongAgribusiness (landtrac compacts) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. Where are they made? How dependable are they? Are parts hard to get? I would call a dealer but thought i would ask those who use them everyday. I was considering a N.H. tc25d w/loader, and 6' rear finishing mower but according to the ads I am seeing, the Landtrac 280 dtc has all the same options minus the hydro trans.( has a syncronized shuttle shifter). Any input good or bad is welcomed.

I can't believe your dealer could not tell you how to install mower w/out the loader, it is simple! First turn your wheel hard to the left. With the deck on the right side of the tractor,(smooth floor helps)roll the deck under at an angle, the left side should be forward of the right side by 8-10 inches. It is a tight fit but is easy if approached from the right angle. Incidentally, and this is in the book, the left rear gage wheel shoul be rotated 90 degrees so that the deck rolls sideways and the front

Probably too late Guy, but for whatever it is worth.<br>You will never need to use the independent brakes to turn sharp and I mean never! Doing so while mowing will only scuff your turf. Most people I have spoken too never use this feature. Secondly, the Kubota mid mount mower goes on very easily with out raising the front end. Simply turn the wheel fully to the left and the mower will roll easily under using the multi directional gage wheels. I have one and can install and remove in under 2 minutes. The Deere 4100 is actually a Yanmar, loader and 3 pt lift specs before buying.

I have a 3010 gst with 16hours on itand it pulls a one bottom plow with ease. I also used my dad's 6 foot disk and the tractor pulls it great to.
