I have a owners manual for a IH that uses a mitsu 3 cyl engine<br>-10 degrees 5 wt But not for extended durations or at full load<br>-10 to 32 degrees 10 wt oil<br> 32 degrees on up 30 wt oil<br>I live in southeast texas so the below freezing temps never occur so I<br>run 30 wt year around<br>My book said not to use multi-viscosity oil <br>Maybe this will give you a starting point anyway <br>

Len,<br>Go and drive all the tractors before you buy. Each has its strong points and each has its weak points. Dealer support is very important, these tractors will last a very long time and you will want a good dealer that will stand by your side! See which tractor fits your needs best and which dealer is going to work with you the best. Get some references from the dealer before you buy. This is my 2 cents worth.

Lots of folks know that the 650 thru 1650 series of John Deere compacts used a<br>Yanmar diesel engine, but not so many give Yanmar enough credit for the rest of<br>the tractor. I believe that Yanmar built the entire machine....top to bottom and <br>even painted it JD green. <br> The JD/Yanmars are excellent - as everyone agrees. From the ones that I have<br>seen it would be just about impossible to improve on the quality of construction. But it was not the top of the line Yanmar even for that time. Yanmars under their own name had things like integral power steering and the powershift transmission in the early 1980's. The JD versions never did get these extras. Stanley, I have zero experience with Cub's so maybe someone else can answer that one for you. Although, I would guess that NOT having a three point hitch would really be a huge disadvantage. The three point hitch gives you such a wide array of implements to use, I wouldn't even consider buying tractor that did NOT have one. That's my opinion though. I believe that all of the JD compact, utility, and farm tractors built in the 80's to present are diesel. Probably even earlier than that, but that goes before my time. I know that ones with Yanmar engines are diesel, anyway. As someone else said, the 650 is a 2 cyl. Yanmar All the others above it (meaning bigger) have three cylinder Yanmars. I think that most all of these are gear drive too. Not sure exactly when hydro started getting popular. Most of these built in the 80's have 4x2 (not counting reverse) speed transmissions meaning a total of 8 speeds forward and 2 reverse. They're really good tractors, though. Good luck!<br>Keith

The tractor that took the place of the L2250 is more like the L3010 not the strip down L2500.Although the L2250 doesn't have the H.P. that the L3010 has I believe that it is closer in features. Check to see if the L2250 has a live powertake off. This is not standard on a L2500.Also the tranny on the L2250 is and 8x8 and I don't believe that the L2500 has this.The thing that is nice about the 8x8 is the speed control is infinite no matter what implement you are using. This is just the info that I gather while I was looking to make a purchase.FYI the L3010 with a loader new priced in somewhere around 18,000 and that is why I didn't think the $9,000 was a bad price for my tractor. But like Dennis said the 3 year warranty is something to look at. I got a 90 day warranty with my tractor which is not much but it is better then nothing. Like I said post your question on the kubota tractor source and you should get the feed back you are looking for. good luck

Sometimes it helps to bleed a system with a full tank of fuel. I have an old 125C IH trackloader that won't completely bleed unless the tank is full. It is also possible you have a air leak somewhere as others have suggested such as a rubber hose or at the filter.<br>

I bought a new 770 4wd in 1994 with a loader, mid mower, and a 513 rotory <br>cutter. It gets used alot. The rotory cutter can handle up to 1

and it does it with no problem. It gets used on a 140 acre farm. Wouldn't
trade it for the world. May have a 5410 someday with a 609 cutter. But
the 770 will be parked right next to it. Have fun shopping.

I don't know what NH calls it, but it's a clutch. You use it to engage and disengage the PTO's and the drive. If you don't push it in before you try to shift the pto you can grind gears just like on your 8N. Most of the time you don't need to use it for the drive as the center position of the HST pedal is neutral. Hope this helps.<br>

You're right about alot of the dealers not taking advantage of the 'net. It's real and it's here to stay. Thanks for maintaining the CTB board, though. I really enjoy it! I purchased a L2550 not to long ago for $9000.00.The L2550 is the big brother to the one that you are looking at. It has 780 hrs, front end loader,4wd. I got some really good feed back from the web site kubota tractor source.You might want to post this message there. Anyway I got my tractor at a fair price I believe from the info that I gather up. So far I'm very pleased with my tractor. I had 110 yards of fill brought in for my front yard and I spread it faster then they could truck it in. No problem. Awesome tractor! good luck with your search.

I just went to the local New Hollander dealership. I was completely sold on the 1920 until the saleman showed me the TC33D. That is one amazing tractor. I was very impressed. Then the icing on the cake was when he said the 20 series was probably going to be discontinued sometime this year. Evidently he won't be able to order them next year. If I'm going to buy a new tractor I want one that they are still selling. It also tells me that NH really did create the Boomer line to replace the 20 series not as just a lower end alternative.<br>He also had heard that NH will come out with several larger Boomers at some point next year. Has anyone heard the same or have info on them? I'd prefer a Boomer with 40+ horses for pulling a bat-wing and using a bigger loader. So I may end up waiting till the new units are introduced.<br>I'd appreciate any comments, possitive or negative.

Be careful what you spray on the seals or any rubber. Some sprays may be cut with solvents, which will reduce rubber life, possibly through cracking. You may not notice any deterioration for years, but it could happen.
