description. This must have been a heck of a disapointment!
I've had my little Yanmar for about 18 years now. And I just bought another
one this weekend because I like them...and because I always wanted one of this
size. It is in good shape, but not particularly inexpensive compared to other
compacts. I did look at several other tractors....including the new Deeres.
For my money, the other compact manufacturers have yet to beat the older
Yanmars. I particularly like the Power-shift feature, the 4 reverse speeds, the
method of driving the front axles, the very quiet and solid engine, the integral
power steering, the factory loader's geomety and breakout force (3600 lbs), and
something I have a hard time describing....but I call it "balance" I measure it
by how familiar the tractor "feels" when I first test it out. Not all of these
features are important to all people...And although Yanmar built tractors for
John Deere, Deere chose not to license all of Yanmar's best technology.
If you compare the John Deere compacts with their Yanmar counterparts, the
Yanmar has more advanced features. As far as parts for useed tractors however,
you just can't beat JD...Although in fairness, my 18 year old Yanmar has never
needed any parts. I order filters a two at a time and always keep spares on
hand. The tractor lives in a shed, and engine oil is changed once a year;
transmission/hydraulic oil is changed every 5 years or so...

We are a grey market Yanmar dealer and are familiar with the FX24D. The FX24D is a very nice tractor. Most true turf tires are low profile and that is the reason for changing rims to maintain a similar outside diameter. If you replace your rear tires with a higher profile turf tire that is the about the same as what you have and replace the fronts with a 7.00 x 15 five rib you really should not have any ratio problems. Plan on spending $450 to $600 to replace all four tires and tubes depending on what type of tires you select. If you need more info contact us Affordable Equipment<br>864-859-2623. <br>

I was told Kioti used Kubotas old designs.They are very similar to Kubotas from the late 70s early 80s.I am taking delivery of a 3054 gently used in just a few minutes.I've owned Kubotas from the early 80s and liked them.Deal was too good to pass up on this and it appears to be sound in a limited test drive.I mainly intend to bushog w/5ft cutter.Any advice as to type to buy? I'm leaning toward generic lite model New Holland dealer sells for $499.Another question:When do you use the 1000 rpm pto?Thanks in advance this is a great board.

Have you ever heard of a Unicorn log splitter? It is a simple, non-hydraulic, screw-type machine that runs direct off the PTO. I have one, and it works really well. Brand-new they run around $400, and I got mine used for $250. Some people have an initial concern about safety, but aside from avoiding loose clothing (always a good idea around a tractor no matter what) the Unicorn is no better or worse than a hydraulic splitter in my opinion.<br>Good luck!

Does anyone know how many NH 1725 were sold in the U.S.A. market? I own a 1725 with 400 hours; The tractor powers a backhoe (Woods 750), hole digger, box scrapper and loader. The tractor is well maintained and have not had any problems. Is the power loss issue with the 1725 a myth?

I wanted to mention a few problems I have had with my 4100. I have about 8 hours on it and have taken it in twice. The first time to have the mower adjusted but when I was there it wouldn't start. After several hours of work they finally found the computer module (a $200 part) under the seat to be defective. It would turn over but apparently did not get fuel so if you are having problems starting, check that.<br>Also, after mowing awhile, I kept hearing a loud noise periodically. I thought it was just thick weeds but it sounded unusual so I thought I would remove the mower (which by the way takes about 5 minutes and is incredibly simple). Fortunately I noticed the hydraulic line above seemed worn and deduced that the mid PTO shaft was rubbing on it when the mower is raised (as when cutting high grass). I was probably close to perforating. When I took it back to the dealer, I was expecting some argument but the service manager apparently was aware of that since they had already had another one in to replace the line. He said when they received the new one for me they will bend it to avoid that in the future. Obviously this is a design flaw that you should watch for if you have a 4100.<br>I can accept these things in a new machine as long as they are taken care of. Other than that it is a wonderful machine.<br>Also, for general information, they said they are the hub for 3 states and have only one of the 4000 series to sell. He reiterated what has been said, that John Deere hadn't expected the demand to be this great. He also said that they have to order a year ahead of time and that was how John Deere gauges the demand.

I bought a 4WD NH2120 several months ago with a Woods 1020 6' wide loader and a Gearmore 6' box scraper. Everything has been working out fine. At one point I had three tractors on my property during the rainy season because the loader for my 2120 hadn't arrived yet. I used the 2120 about a dozen times to pull both the other tractors out of the mud. When I did get the loader on my 2120 it was like heaven on earth compared to the other tractors. The Woods loader is great and the tractor handles fine even when I have the 6' bucket (over)loaded with material. It seems to have plenty of power for grading with the box scraper, although I can't scrape a full box load with the teeth down in some of the hardest soils I have on my property which is probably understandable given it is only a 42 HP machine. The only minor complaint I have is it is a little hard to shift between the low/med/high gear ranges. This will probably get better after I mash the gears a little more. The shuttle fwd/reverse and 4 speed shifter are great. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I do not know about tractor dealers But when I worked at a car dealership GM would reimburse for repairs if the owners paid for something under warranty if a Dealer was not avaiable Weekend,Holiday Towing ect. Just a try If the local dealer will not. Ask for the name and number of the regional Customer rep.<br>this will get the dealers attention or e-mail the USA kubota company

My Hesston 1014 14' swather is run off of hydro power, the pump runs off the PTO shaft of the tractor, and is run to another pump that turns the tine reel as well as the auger and sickle. I know this unit is a little bigger than your looking for, but maybe give you some sort of an idea on how to apply it to your situation. This unit also requires a min. of 50 PTO HP.
