I have a set of new AG tires on my 2820. They are size 12.4/26 Bridgestones. Available only in Japan evidently. I want to put on a set of R-3 Turf tires and wheels, but have had little to no luck finding the right tire wheel combo. Can any of you yanmar experts help me? I would sure appreciate the right info, as to who and where I might get the required wheel tire combination. I live in North East OHIO next to Pennsylvania border. The biggest problem I am encountering is getting a wheel to fit my bolt pattern.

I got a quote for my exact tractor from Ted at $17,350-$17,550 depending on delivery. Even though I got the same price locally I paid more due to taxes But, I also have a great dealer for sevice and warranty work, so for me it was worth the few extra bucks.

The compressor size depends on how deep you are going. If you are only going 10 to 15 ft, then a 2 HP compressor should be adequate. These work by making bubbles that push water and muck up through the pipe. You inject bubbles near the lower end of the larger pipe at high pressure. The flow up through the pipe will carry the stuff out.

Any compressor with a good tank will give you adequate flow for a short period. At deeper levels more power is required for supplying a continuous flow of air at higher pressure. These really work best when you can keep up the flow continously and the entire column of bubbles and water provide a powerful suction.

Lifting the front on the 7308 is limited by the length of the main cylinders not only by lifting ability. Put a 6 inch block under your bucket and it should lift the front end although in your case if the pressure is low it could effect this. I think it would be well worth the money and time to have a dealer check and adjust the loader pressure.

Turning up a hill will require forces on the front tire traction points that will be higher than turning downhill in most cases. Exceeding the available traction is the definition of skidding.

Imagine traveling on a side slope. Generally turning downhill will not break the wheels loose from their traction. Turning uphill, especially with 2WD can cause the wheels to break loose and skid straight. Once the wheels are skidding, they may tend to follow the fall line of the hill, whether you want to go that way or not.

Tom, if you had an implement on the 3PH, it seems very remote that you could tip the tractor over backward. Also the CG would be shifted to the rear and the front end would be lighter. It may very well be easier to turn uphill.

Alternatively, if I was pulling something like a 4 wheel wagon from the drawbar, I don't think that I would want that thing following me downhill at uncontrolled speed. I would probably carefully turn uphill in this situation, get off on the uphill side, figure out a solution. I just can't come to any solid conclusion any way that I look at this. For every answer there is an exception. This is probably just the kind of question that keeps the lawyers for the farm equipment manufacturers up at night.

I have done some extreme off-road travel. You can get vehicles through some amazing tracks, but each situation is different. It is amazing what a shovel, heavy ropes, straps, high lift jack, and a winch can do, but there are no hard and fast rules.

Mark - I just consulted Bush Hog, Worksaver, and two Landpride manuals about slip clutch checks and adjustments. Bush Hog suggests you do an "operational check" (i.e. make sure the clutch isn't frozen) after 30 or more days of storage, Worksaver suggests a check just after winter storage, and Landpride suggests re-doing a clutch run-in after "long periods of inactivity." All manufacturers describe check and adjustment procedures; none mention readjusting after hitting an object. The Bush Hog manual states (and in bold type, no less), "occasional slippage is normal for drivetrain protection." If I had to readjust a slip clutch every time I hit an obstruction and the clutch "slipped," I'd be better off time-wise with a shear bolt set-up. I would quietly burn any manual I had that told me to readjust the slip clutch every time it slips.

Has anyone compare the BX2200 to the JD2210? I am narrowing down to these two tractors, and I would like to hear your opinion on their performance, use of implements.

I also heard that New Holland is ready to launch a comparable model (to the BX2200). Does anyone have any info on that?

Depending on the year of manufacture of the tractor for a 1982 model around $3400 to a 1977 model $2200. Those are nice little tractors. Check it out good and run it. Make sure the tractor is cold when you get there to start is cold and determine if the glow plugs work properly and if the clutch is not sticking. (i.e. will not go in gear without grinding). Look at the front end steering knuckle to check for steering play. Condition of tires. What does oil and trans fluid look like? Does tractor have ROPS and seat belt? I can show you where you can get a discount coupon from Kubota to purchase one very reasonable. (big pain in the butt to install!) Run it good and hard cutting or something to put a good load on it. Does oil come out of gear shift? (clean mud dawbers's nest out of trans. vent tube on L/H side just below seat) Good luck!

Dave, the CCM is built like an anvil. I would just buy a few extra blades when I buy the machine. As long as the shipping is reasonable, I think you would be way ahead.

You need to push in the clutch...my B2150 won't turn over regardless of the glowplug time until you depress the clutch.

Hi John,

I'm a tractor wannabe, and am seriously considering the BX22. I have 11 acres in NC and half of it needs recurring bushhogging. I really like the BX22 features, but I am afraid it may not be up to the bush hog. My dealer said it will handle a 42" hog. Can you share your thoughts on how well your bush hog worked with the BX22? I appreciated your thoughts on protecting the hydraulic connections.

I've recently purchased a new Bx-22 and LOVE it! Now I'm ready to find the right tiller to go behind it. The dealer tells me a 60 inch isn't too big and he is recommending a Landpride 50 inch. Does anyone have any idea how big is too big? I don't want to stress the tractor too much.

I live in souther VT also. I just purchased a 12' trailer at Harvest Equipment in Newport VT and paid more. There is a place in Montpelier that claims to have cheap prices. I went there and so the trailer, but couldn't find an employee. It is called Walt's. www.ackequip.com/

Need some adivise, will a model 417 loader with 60" bucket fit on a new model 7000 machine. The web site says that the 7000 uses a 475 loader with 48" bucket. If carefull not to overload the 471 would it mount to a model 7000?
