I live in the Shenandoah Valley and got my B7500 with no delay (couple of weeks ago) from a dealer in High View, West Va. There is also a dealer in Warrenton, VA. Good luck. It's worth the wait :)

I have the R-4 tires and each tire took about 55 gallons on my 4410. That comes to around 445 per tire. The 790 tires are not that much smaller. I would guess somewhere around 325 - 375 per tire. You are right about being a back breaker. I would not want to change one. The tires on my old Cub 154 Loboy were fluid filled and were the original tires. They lasted over 30 years. Knock on wood! ;-)

He is on his way out to replace the finish mower it was his mistake they loaded the wrong one. I elected to go with a 48" for $100.00 less. It is my thought that it will give the tractor more control on the slopes. Maybe this will make things better.

Darrell, I to am looking at the new compact tractors. At first I was leaning real hard towards the JD line up but I wanted to keep an open mind about them and I stopped by the local Kabota Dealer. He also carried the NH brand and was very helpful. What I found was even the smallest NH is designed basically like the largest tractors. they dont have subframes that you have to worry about bending in half or bolting up an extra frame to. The JD Dealer said that in order to use a backhoe I would have to install a big frame rail to stiffen up the tractors existing frame or it would bend. Then if you wanted to put in a belly mower you would have to take all of it off. This is way to much work for me. The Kabota had the same frame problem. and they have an aluminum differiential case and transmission housing. The NH is cast iron.
If anyone has more information please let me know.

Am looking at this Kubota tractor model L2350DT FWD with a LB400 loader and B4672 Backhoe. Has good tires, no major leaks, has 450hrs on meter, good paint. In fact everything appears to be in good working order and in good shape. Would like advise on what this unit is worth.

Thanks to all of you. I was able to get the Mid PTO on successfully finally. I used a triangle file between the spines, wire brushed inside the collar and re-greased. The shaft went on halfway and stopped. Started the tractor, let the PTO run for about 15 seconds, shut it down and the darn thing slid into position, locking very nicely. Best of all i finally got to mow with my new toy!! Again, thanks to you all for your suggestions.<br>

I thought one of my oranges was falling apart all of a sudden.

It happened to be a GST, however, as time progressed, I realized a chattery noise...almost a rattle, and I was concerned. One day it became really concerning and distracting. I then realized that the split brake lock bar had worn off the paint on it's surfaces, and was rattling within the lock arms between both brake pedals.

Point being...don't assume that it is anything major...nine times out of ten, it isn't. Check out the little things first.

There is a multitude of tractor saftey courses taught at night at High School campuses all of this great nation courtesy of the FFA. Also there are regional ones as well. Consult the Progressive Farmer Magazine for details. They are youth oriented but could save your life.

Here is a general recomedation though: Never drive across a steep hillside. Only go up and down. A tractor is immensly more stable end to end. Also spread your tractor to its fullest dimension if possible.
Never disable any shields guards or covers no matter how inconveincing. Keep tractor serviced and greased. Never override any saftey switches to crank a tractor and most of all if in doubt, don't!

Let's put this in perspective. One Tomahawk is 1.5 million dollars. An image for the world to see of a strong, determined leader taking an active role with his military...priceless. How does anyone count the PR that this has generated as anything but brilliant. It just adds to the image burned into the terrorists minds that we mean what we say and will put a boot in your... if you mess with us. Some would doubt if that is the image we should portray, but I would say that it blasphemes the meory of all those who have served and given their lives and appendages in service of this country not to continue a strong tradition of defense of freedom. War never has been PC as long as it has been around. But no one can doubt that correctly done, it has had a major impact upon keeping history on decent tract to ensure that there is a future for the freedom loving peoples of this world.

I'm in the process of purchasing a BX22 tractor see my earlier post). I've ordered with the 60" mid mower attachment but thinking I may have made a mistake. The main mowing I'll do will be once or twice a year on a 2 acre field that is mostly grass and wildflowers. Just like to knock it down a couple of times a year. Would a mower that attaches to the rear PTO make more sense? The main use of the tractor is for the FEL and backhoe so the mower will not be mounted very often. Thanks in advance for your thoughts?

Sorry to hear this saga! However, so often is the case...great product, but terrible representation to the market! Doesn't matter what color the tractor is,or product for that matter, they all have them, sadly to say.

I hope your orange proves different results than your delivering dealer has.

Two years ago, I decided that the JD4400 was the ultimate compact tractor. Then I tuned in here, and quickly learned that this new model was apparently rushed to market too soon and had its share of teething problems. This was later confirmed by members of another tractor board. I decided to wait until the product matured. I am now awaiting the arrival of my new 4310. I already got my $20 worth. Dennis is not trying to get rich; he is just trying to survive. I think it is good for all concerned to have two or more competitors on the field. Count me in.

When I bought my first orange, a B5200DT, I bought it with a 3pt finish deck. Why the gear shift... we had some serious issues with hydrostatics at the time, and we really did not trust them very much. I learned to mow the lawns with the gear shift oramge...like any other 3pt deck, it is something to get used to. However, the HST affords you a luxury that the gear does not, the ability to keep the engine revs AND the deck / PTO revs at operating speed.

With the gear shift units, you lose your rear PTO as you dump your clutch pedal to change gear directions, unless it is equipped with a two stage as larger units are. If you maintain the operating speed, when you start off again, you'll typically get a real jerky, hard engagement of the PTO drive as you start off.

As John pointed out, if you have wide open mowing coverage, then you really won't have a problem. I still cut in tight areas with my B5200DT and 3pt deck and FEL on it. However, if your yard to be mowed is disciplined with many turns and trees (obstacles in general), you'll be forever trying to change gears and mow. This is when a HST will certainly outperform a gear, for manueverability.
