The fuse issue on the starter was caused by the rubber around the key. It was keeping key on and thus causing an load to the starter. Took mine off and it works fine now. The NH dealer said there is a service bulletin on this now....

I guess I'll try and answer my own question here by saying I contacted a dealer in another state with the question on the 14LA fitting prior production tractors.
He contacted his own Field Rep who said "It has yet to be determined if the 14LA Loaders will only fit new models or will have mounting kits to fit prior production models like yours (mine)"
If the decision has yet to be made I would suggest that anyone interested in a 14LA that already owns a TC 29/33 may want to contact their own dealer and voice your opinion.
Right now it looks like I may be the only one interested.

I'd go Kubota,all the J.D. dealers I've met are arrogant
pricks.If that's there dealers then the tractors must be crap.

Farm diesel doesn't have the road tax added to the price, is dyed red (so DOT can check it, if you're running it in your truck), and has a higher sulfur content (I think...not as EPA controlled, yet).

Well folks, the weather is improving, and the cabin-fever is getting pretty severe, now on top of that I'm suffering froma bad case of 'picture envy'. Since I am still forbidden from going to the office, even if only to raid my computer, I posted some old pictures I had on my old home computer.

The first is the house and immediate area, the second is the 'Toy Box' (or shop to everyone but my good lady), and the third is one of the Toys, a JCB TLB that got retired to domestic duties.

Hopefully a couple of pics of my shiny new 'Bota are soon to follow, then some of the home-brewed implements, etc.

Merk, nice job on that drag conversion with the box blade.

I spoke with a Kioti owner here in Canada recently, he claims to have been one of the very first Kioti owners in Eastern Canada, he has just taken delivery of his third new Kioti, a shiny new DK45, cab and all.

When I asked him about reliabilty, a big concern to me since I run a fleet of compacts commercially, he said the ONLY problem he had with either of his first two units was with the first one. It had been shipped from Asia with 68 weight hydraulic fluid, which when temperatures fell in the winter got pretty thick. He drained it, refilled it with 32 weight, and never had to do anything else but maintenance on it before he traded it in on the second unit, which was trouble-free for the entire time he owned it.

Now to be fair, he had not put as many hours on the two of them combined, about 650 hours together, as we put on some of ours in two months of commercial service. But then they suited him and his tasks just fine.

Bottom line? Of all the Kioti owners I have spoken with here in Canada, the biggest complaints were not about the machine, but problems with the dealer itself.

both windings must power up to pull solonoid to run position and then only hold winding be powered up when key switch in in run position.

That's good info. The main use for the FEL would be to move some topsoil around. I'll give the owner a call. Does the price sound about right? According to the ad, 462 hours and "excellent condition".

I might have had the incorrect name before,sorry, Northern Tool and Equipment they go by now. Most snowmobile dealers carry these as well, however quite pricey from them. Northern also sells these for rolling around snowplows as well in off season.

I would suggest you go with the ehydro and get the 4610 or if the extra 4 HP is worth about $1800 to you, go with the 4710. Either one I am sure you will be delighted with. I recently procured 15 4710's for the 101st Airborne to tow helicopters (as heave as 50,000 lbs.) on the flight line and in the field.
These tractors have been deployed for 3 months in Kuwait and Iraq and I have not had any reports of problems with maintenance or performance. The soldiers love these tractors. I personally own a 4410 and love mine as well. Later on down the road, I feel the resale/trade in value of the 4710 & 4610 will be much higher as well. The extra HP will give you the option to expand out into different and larger equipment too. Good luck on your decision.

It all sounds a bit strange to me. All I can say is here we go again. Deere didn't fix the 4000 series problems by adding a 10 to the model number.

Maybe they should just import the whole line from Japan. The 4100, 4010, and 4115's just do not have the problems their US assembled counterparts have.

I live almost a mile above sea level and I rarely use all the power my BX22 generates.

When I was "bulldozing" brush for a new driveway I would run at less than 1/2 throttle in low gear so I could reduce the wheel spin to near zero and not over stress the front blade if I hit a rock. Even at low power settings it just ripped the brush out of the ground.

When I use the backhoe I never run at full power, never. It is just not needed and the controls are much smoother at half throttle.

When I am pushing into a pile of dirt with the FEL it actually works better at reduced throttle settings as the wheels don't dig in so much.

The only time I use full throttle/full power is in transport. Like when I have a big scoop of gravel and I am running 400 feet to the top of the driveway with it.

I think my tractor would be just as efficient for my present needs with 18 HP, but as Art pointed out, I am not mowing or running anything off of the PTO's

I have a B1750, Bi Speed, yada yada...virtually the same machine, merely a little more HP. The problem that arises with overfilling a cavity with oil is , that as the oil heats up with use, it will want to expand. If the chamber in which it is located does not accomodate a void for the expansion measure, it'll be working on the seals/ gaskets , etc. then you'll be noticing oil on the floor / ground beside your tractor.

This is a common misunderstanding, one may want to fill the respective reservoir more, but you will be creating more problems for oneself. Hydraulic fluid vs. gear oil expands at a rate much higher and faster than that of gear oil. Different topic,different day.

I think that many loader frames as well as hoe sub-frames apply load to the bell housing area. If I understand the geometry, the object of these mounts is to distribute loads, and about the only place to distribute it to is the middle of the tractor. I think engineering is pretty complex and it is good to hear that Kioti is standing behind their tractors.<br>

My loader frame lift arm pivot mounts bolt to the cases just ahead of the TX/engine joint. The load may be divided between the pivot points and front axle, but I'd guess that a heavy load in the bucket is still sort of like suspending the rear end and using the cases as a fulcrum. Some of those round bales sure are heavy. I know that top-link compression when digging with my 3ph hoe tries to jack-knife the tractor at the case joints but I can't really see that most sub-frames would change things that much. I'd still rather have something to distribute load away from the top-link mount for heavy-duty work though.<br>

The turfs do well for traction on most all conditions. The industrial tires are better traction in torn up turf or grading. I would have trouble finding reasons to go to the industrial tires for a near finished or finished property.

It was soft ground at an area where a ditch drains a swamp. I had hoped that I could mow the ditch by straddling it with the tractor and instead of backing out of there, I tried to just cut across. That is the day I learned that "Four wheel drive isn't magic".
