Since the dealer's got it, I won't try to second-guess the problem. It'd be interesting to hear what the dealer comes up with though.

A 1.5 gallon overfill seems pretty huge for a tractor that size. I'm not sure that even topping up the reservoir with all the hydraulics fully extended and then checking it when all cylinders were retracted would produce that much over-fill unless one of the hydraulics was a big log-splitter or something. It might be good to think through how that much oil got there.

I disconnected my seat switch on my TC33 since it broke after 1 day of operation. But electrical problems are still commmon on my machine. Pushing tree limbs and logs into a pile slightly disconnected my neutral saftey switch wire connections. Of course this occurred after shutting down the machine in a sloppy barnyard (had to tow the tractor to dry ground with my old mitsubishi grey market), The leads weren't totaly disconnected. still in the plastic sleeves so you couldn't see the open circuit. Today the main fuse down by the starter blew, for what reasonn i'm not sure, I was running down the road with lights and flashers on. Shut down in a friends yard and after trying to start up, no juice...not even to the guages. I guess I better call up the sevice dept, only have 25 hours on the Boomer.

Mark is right...grey market units can potentially present interesting legal ramifications, however, it sounds like the one you found is from a private sale. Question though for my own curiousity...What does this "L" unit compare to in normal orange model numbers? Just curious

The difference between the two tractors is actually about 1+ hp at the pto more on the 1750 than that of the 1700. I love the B1750 that I have with FEL, HST, 4wd.

As far as value on the B1700, a 1999,4wd, HST that is in mint condition with only 54 hrs on it has a book value in the neighborhood of $10k+. Add the MMM, and the grass catching system, your probably looking around the $12-13k range. Keep in mind that geographic considerations play a role also, however somewhere in that range.

There was a YM273. Never heard of a YM270. The Vietnamese are purchasing some of the really old tractors & repainting them like new. Most of the direct importers won't deal in these models because of the lack of parts.

Looking to buy the tractor/front loader and use it for landscaping, slashing, and general work around my 2 acre property. Not sure which model to buy. Is the extra power of the BX2200 that much more worthwhile than the BX1800?

I'm at sea level, and there is no snow here. The ground is gravel and light clay soil, with laterite "coffee" rock often close to the surface.

Cutter, Mark if from Tifton, GA. No freezing ground down there and better soil. I guess that explains his statement. I used to live in FL. A roller would just sink up in the wet dirty sand :) Rollers are not needed everywhere.

I am looking at purchasing a B7500 this week and am looking for feedback on this machine. It is the HST, with FEL, Landpride 16 series 60" RMM, and Box Blade. The total price is 13,350.00. I will use it for grass cutting 3 acres, light grading, and 350' driveway grading. I live in Kingston Springs Tennessee where nothing is flat so I have 5 different levels of ground with a pond and creek at the bottom. My question is I am getting the turf tires due to the fact I do not want tire tracks everywhere but am concerned about traction. My dealer says that the R4 tires are a 200.00 upgrade if I was to swap them out. This is the first tractor I have owned in 15 years. My previous experience was with a 8N Ford aproximately 1950-1960. Gravity fed gas powered.

The stories that get heard about dealers, not just in New England but all over. I bought an orange years ago from a dealer about 6 miles from the house. I got a reasonable deal at the time, and I grew up with most of the guys that worked there. Dealer went out, the franchise got picked up by another dealer even closer. I went back to price out a B7500...first off, it was higher than any where else - not by a little - by alot! Then when I asked what the absolute best price was, they responded "if you buy from any one else and you have a problem, I'll make sure that your the last one on the service roster, warranty or otherwise"!

I realize that all dealers do not act this way, but alot do. I also realize that no-one wishes to be on the receiving end of someone elses problem, however, if under warranty...it is still under warranty. Needless to say, I did not buy there. The best price that I found was in Middlebury VT, at 12.8 with HST, FEL. The MMM was still another $2100.

Sounds like you got a very good price at Salem Farm Supply.

Look for something other than a gray market Yanmar. I bought a 2200 five years ago and had nothing but problems. It died last summer of multiple wounds (no compression, leaky radiator, bad alternator & starter). I could never get it start in the winter. The only parts available are used off of other dead tractors. It's not worth the risk to save a few bucks.

Thanks John, I just can't believe how easy the backhoe comes off/on. The loader comes off easy too although getting it back on took a little bit of study. Next time I take it off i'll be a pro, great design!! I mowed about an acre of field and was impressed, took the deck off(so easy)and started digging till sundown, hard to believe it's just 22hp. Oh and by the way it's scratched and dirty now ,I should have taken that picture Mark talked of. Tomorrow it's time for the tiller and it is very heavy. Thinking of making a dolly for it in the shop so I can wheel it around to the back of the tractor. thanks again

I have checked the voltage at the connection where the solenoid hooks into the wiring harness. There are three wires. One ground, two hot. When the iginition switch is in the on position one of the hot wire shows 12.46 volts and stays thatway until the switch is turned off. The other hot goes to 12 volts as soon as the ignition switch is turned on, but it goes to zero in about 2 seconds. The two second hot wire should pull the plunger on the solenoid in and the second hot wire holds it in. My information says that it takes 50 amps to pull the plunger in and about 1 to hold it. It must not be getting the entire 12 volts and 50 amps required to pull in the plunger. I also have another problem. The voltage going to the solenoid is intermittent. sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. Yee Ha!
I'm trying to figure out how to test the relays you guys mentioned and the timer relay for the pull in side.
One good point - the tractor still starts and runs with the solenoid removed if you operatethe fuel lever manually. I'm afraid this negates all the safety switches or I'd rig up a manual kill switch out of a good stiff coathanger.

I got the B7500 and used it all weekend. I am real happy with the tractor. I spread dirt and moved dirt. I am pleased.

Mine dose not have a hoe on it. I was just using the front end loader. The dealer ordered a new one (Bell) from NC and stated it should be good as new by the end of this week.

Fred Cain is a short line manufacturer that has specialized in low cost equipment for years. However, price was the selling point not parts. Many dealers have access to his product line. Check with your local non major line dealers. I have been unsuccesful in the past in pulling parts in from FC. It seems that there may be more than one FM sold under the FC name mad by different manufactures over the years.
