I have just purchased a jd 750 i have no plate below the pto shaft for the serial. Is there any other place i could find the serial numbers///thanks cte

The problem with the Kubota L2600 is the PTO is transmission driven. A live or independent PTO are much easier to work with. The L3000 isn't much more and really a better value. Your area is ripe with dealers. I would check the respective web sites and use the dealer locator feature. I would at least LOOK at the others before making a decision.

Yes, I had to be pulled out. My neighbor pulled me out with a Ferguson 35.
The whole story is even funnier than just the picture though. I had ordered the tractor and picked it up that day. In fact, this was its maiden voyage around the yard. The truck was still sitting in the yard (running!) with the trailer attached.
I remember how proud the dealer was of the clean-up job they'd done on this tractor; "even Armor-All'ed the tires" he told me. He he he.
I sent him pictures of the incident, now he uses them in his sales pitch, I think.
Before anybody makes a rude comment, YES, I should have had the ROPS up and seat belt on.
Glad you enjoyed the picture. I once had a whole series on the 'net, I'll see if I can put it together again and post the link sometime.

The few I've seen advertised without SS have been running around $18K. From that I would say with SS and in exceptional condition around $19-20K. Biggest bargaining point is you loose the financing incentives. Paying 3K or so less could end up costing you the about the same if you factor in the financing. Personally I would buy new unless I got a fire sale price.

Is anyone familiar with the YM 270 tractor? It looks somewhat like the 2700 series and it is the same HP rating. I'm trying to determine when it was made. I'm told somehere in the mid to late eighties but the 270 doesn't really show up anywhere on the web. Any opinions would be welcome.

So I faxed about 10 dealers, emailed about 4 and am going to put a deposit on a B7800hsd tomorrow. I couldn't believe the differences in prices. I am purchasing my tractor an equal distance from my house but in the opposite direction and saving exactly $2,000. It definetly pays to shop around.

On a B1550 HSD with Bi-Speed turn, how much oil does the front axle and both hubs hold? I filled them with what the book says, but that did not seem like it was as much that was drained out. There is no dipstick or sight glass to check the level. Does anyone have any opinions?

I'm with Art's suggestion, the mechanical lock is the easiest, fastest, surest way, IMHO, to secure the lever in place. A simple hinge located next to the shifter in such a way that when the 'free' side is flipped flat outwards it blocks the shifter from moving will do the trick. If the lever is jumping out with any amount of force it means the gears are not mating correctly.

We do this to our construction equipment to, for instance, prevent the shuttle shift from going into high range, or to lock the machine in neutral as a safety to prevent the machine from being bumped into gear when the operator is not expecting it, or while it is warming up or cooling down.

I was just looking at a similar configuration and at my local dealer, they were quoting about $11K for the BX2200 + 60" deck, and an additional $2900 for the loader. I hadn't asked for the tiller pricing, yet.

I just bought my first set of filters for my 7360SS. Part #MA1031-0511-200 air filter element $59.05, #MA1031251800 hydraulid filter $83.81 could these be correct? I have bought several for my other Kubotas and air element was 12.00 to 17.00 and the hydro element was 15.00 to 20.00 depending on which dealer I used. Does any one know a different source than the dealer? I am a firm believer in O.E.M. parts. The Cub is ok but these prices are strong. Thanks for any and all help.

My purchase last fall was about $1000 less but without the rotary cutter. Other differences with your package include the 62 inch MMM and possibly the 53 inch FEL bucket included on my order.

4710 has a bigger motor (134 vs 121 cu in.) and significantly more peak torque than the 4510. Whether it's worth the extra spare change is your call. Most owners seem to recommend the 4610 over the 4510 for the smaller price difference. I'm planning on a 4710, but will fall back to a 4610 if the local dealers are too proud of the 4710. The 4710 is microscopically less fuel efficient than the 4510/4610 per hp produced.

The dealer just picked up the tractor for the third time. Now the problem is getting the tractor in neutral to start it. When it does start, it will only move in 1st gear.

I purchased my TC 33D last July and I decided to look into a loader this past fall. I found out about the 14LA loader and decided to wait. Well, my dealer has been telling me that they checked with their factory rep and for whatever reason (they don't know if it's a change in design on newer model tractors), the 14LA will not fit older model tractors. Again, he said that even though my tractor is a 2002, the 14LA will not fit my tractor. I find it hard to believe that NH will be manufacturing a new loader that will only fit future machines. If this is true (I hope it's not)why would NH limit themselves like this? Has anyone else heard this or can someone else confirm or dispute it?

Yes I think Peters has the most likely answer. It could also be water colecting in a low spot inside the tranny.

Pillow block bearings work fine for the roller axles. You can get them many places, Tractor supply, Graingers, etc...

I don't think a plastic barrel would hold up too well. I used an old piece of 18 inch diameter steel pipe, welded plates on both ends with solid axle stubs sticking out, and a 1 inch pipe collar into one end next to the edge to fill and drain. I have mine filled with used oil, it seemed to be a good use for it. Just have to watch going downhill, the beast is heavy and will push you if you let it.
You might also want to put a drum scraper on it, they can just keep getting taller with the dirt sticking to it sometimes.
