I agree with the other guys.Hire out the big stuff or rent the machinery you need for the work. If you buy anything new/used in either a compact or ag the problem you run into is attachments. No matter what you buy it will be hard to find everything you need in one place. When buying used equipment,even though most people take good care of their stuff,you're taking the risk of buying their problems. Good luck on your project!

that given a year's time you will run across several for real cheap. Every

Several companies sell a loader for this tractor. Most are better than the<br>original equipment. Some of the companies will even match your paint. Expect<br>a loader to cost in the 3000 range. <br> The 650 with low hours and no attachments will go for around 5000 if in<br>average condition to 6000 if it is exceptionally well kept. Chas and Scott, I'd be real curious to know what the damages were/are for your tractors as I just bought a 4300 w/ 430 and sync shuttle for $17,500. I to had heard about shortages, but my dealer put the package together in less than a week.

John, I looked at a very nice 755 in western IN last week. It was 4WD with Model 70 loader and 440HRS. Only the foot rest paint was worn. Asking price was 11,500. Hope this helps

Another option is the JD790 since you don't want HST. Not only does<br>it have Continuous Live PTO, it is rated at 30hp gross -- 25hp PTO.<br>The base price is around $11,000 for FWD. I just purchased a 1984 International 244. It is a 3cyl diesel PTO HP 21. MLS, I can't comment on much but the price you were quoted for the 4100. I just got a quote yesterday from the jd dealer here in Fishers, IN for a 4200 HST w/420 loader, mid mower and turf tires. He said it listed for 23,330 and would sell it for 21K. I don't know how much less a conventional tranny is, but I do think that the 4100 should be about a grand less for the basic tractor. Seems like 16 is a fair price. Do people still do business with a hand shake? I think I better move east.

I'm not so familiar with compacts, but I regularly hook up implements to my catagory II hitch, from the 7' snowblower to the cultivator to the plow to the sprayer to the 7' mower, and it only takes a couple minutes for these implements I can't possibly move by hand. Three point is certainly the easiest way to hook things up.<br>I think the rear mower will be not quite as fancy a cut as a belly mower, but myself I would _never_ want a belly mower on a tractor with a loader.<br>--->Paul<br>

I had the same basic problem with my Ford 1500. All I could do is open <br>the fittings one at a time. I applied pressure by applying air pressure<br>to the fuel cell while my son cranked the engine. As fuel surfaced and <br>bubbled over I reattached each fitting all the way to the injectors. <br>Took about 5 minutes total. I went with the Deere because I'm really not in a big rush. I admit I would like to have it earlier but such is life. I agree with you that the NH is an excellent machine and of course more available. The main thing that turned me down was the NH dealer told me to check the weight of both units, and that the NH is heavier. After checking I found that the 4300 was 400 lbs heavier. I did like the supersteer option and would have gone with that. I think the main swing item was the dealer, the Deere dealer wanted to deal. Good luck with your new unit, hope you have years of trouble free service.

I have seen this problem on low-hour tractors that do a lot of sitting. Often the cure is as simple as a couple shots of penetrating oil where the throttle shaft enters the injection pump, and working the shaft back & forth from low idle to the full throttle position, with the engine not running, of course. When the oil frees up the shaft, it will return as it is supposed to. Good luck.
