I heard this morning that NH is purchasing IH/Case. Suppose to create a big competitor to Deere's construction division. NH=11 billon/yr. JD=14 billon/yr.<br>Anyone hear other info??

Pete- I own a B1700 with a 5 foot Woods back blade. The tractor handles it just fine, and in fact could most likely take a 6 footer. It moves snow great, but don't expect it to level dirt like a construction vehicle- what I find is that the tractor is so light that bumps in hard dirt lift the blade rather than the blade leveling it off in one pass.<br>Good luck<br>Paul

Flash, the prices should NOT be similar. If the Kioti is not substantially<br>less expensive than the more familiar makes then something is wrong with the<br>deal. Not only is the machine less expensive to the dealer, but be sure<br>to compare the Kioti dealers overhead with the local JD, Kubota, or Ford dealer.<br>Who has to pay the most for buildings, parts, and employees?? <br> If the Kioti really is the same or close to the same price as the others<br>then I think I would stay with the more familiar name. For the most part, the type soil your digging in will determine the need for downpressure. I build fences and do landscaping, so digging post holes or planting trees is an everyday occurence for me. I find that in most cases especially spring time after the winter moisture, you will not need downpressure. However I have had to have downpressure during the spring on certain soil conditions and during a hot summer here in TN downpressure is a prerequisite. Down pressure is great when you can't sink an auger but the price difference between a light weight and a heavy weight digger w/downpressure is tremendous, and unless you are using one often I think the bobcat rental with digger makes alot of sense.

The 3pt finish mower is EASY to hook up. It rolls really easy so backing up to correctly is not critical. (It provides a counter weight for the loader when the neighbor stops you to help move some dirt when you are mowing.) It takes some

However, the 3pt rotary cutter is a big pain to connect. You got to back up just right. (It will probably sit until I get well.)

I bought a 4100 about a month ago. I got the gear transmission, since I will be doing mostly mowing. I have a 60 inch finish mower and 4 foot box blade. No problems, and seems to have plenty of power for both the mower and blade. It seems to be really fuel efficient.

That is about retail. I am from central Missouri and a local dealer has them for 5500, but will sell them for 5000. You might check on a Bush Hog model. They sell here for 4500 and are about the same quality.

I purchased a 4300 HST, MFWD, 60

I was hooking up my 25A flail mower to the 4300 today and I would have greatly appreciated the telescoping draft links that the New Holland has. Hopefully Deere will include those as an option on future tractors.
I've owned the 4300 for about two months and like the tractor. I had a problem with a misadjusted parking break at first but that problem was resolved. In the case of the 4300 vs. the TC29 I think it comes down to the price and the dealer support. "> JD4300 vs BOOMER TC29D

I am in the market for a new compact tractor. I currently own a Ferguson TE-20. Its a nice old tractor, but very limited. Ive looked at the New Holland TC25, and I think it is what Im looking for. I got a quote of 12,000 for the FWD model. I am not interested in Hydrostat drive.Any opinions on this tractor or any other brands in the 25hp category?v It doesnt have a live PTO, which makes bush hogging tough. Do other makes like JD, Kubota, Massey,etc have live PTO's? Is this something I can live without? Any advice would be appreciated!<br> Mike

John,<br> That is a bit high. I have a 755 with belley mower and loader with 570 hours and if I were to sell it today I wouldn't take less than 11,500 for it. Things to consider- does it have a 3 point hitch, and 4wd, these were options on the 755. Mine does. I Hope with this and the other post, it gives you a guide to go by. The 9500 price was a very low price, but it was left outside which can do alot of aging to the tractor.<br>David

Pressure in the Crankcase can becaused by several things some of them might be:<br>-Worn Rings and or pistons<br>-Leaking head gasket<br>-Worn parts in the valve assembly<br>You should do a pressure test on each cylinder, if you see one much lower than the others add an oz or so of 40 weight oil and recheck. If the pressure goes up significantly its your rings pistons if not its your head valves.<br>Heads/valves are easier than Pistons.<br>Good Luck<br>
