hi. i'm sorry i can't answer your question, but i was wondering if, by any chance, you could help me? my dad has a suzue 150-WD that he just purchased. he's a farmer and has never owned such a machine. i've never even heard of it! anyway, he's wondering if you know anything about these tractors? do you know where i could look for information on them? do people really sell replacement parts for these? are they all made in japan? how did you know the year yours was made?
sorry to hit you with all these questions, but i honestly don't know where else to turn.
i'd appreciate any help you could offer.

I believe that Bubco.com has them (use as part of their quick hitch system) in a variety of lengths. The cost from Bubco is higher than what Bird mentioned, don't remember the exact figure.

Hillbilly, Your best bet is to stay with JD for FEL and equipment. There are many after-market attachments one can buy that are interchangable for our modern compact tractors and most are safe to use as long as the tractor can handle the attachment. When it comes to an attachment such as a FEL or backhoe that realy do heavy work and can do damage to our NEW PRIDE AND JOY compacts, if improperly (designed,installed,used). These two implements (made by the OEM) are just that, Designed for that tractors use. When I ordered my new tractor with FEL, I ordered the most heavy duty bucket that that tractor company made for that tractor. It had reenforcement on all 4 sides. I had had a tractor before and the bucket was very easily damaged for the work I do. Just my 2 cents.

I read this thread with interest and unless i am missing something, what was proposed in the original post could be quite dangerous. Connecting a chain to the front of the tractor and running it under the tractor to pull could result in the chain getting wrapped up on one of the wheels/axles etc. This could result in a very dangerous situation. If you want to try and pull them out, either use the front bucket method suggested (first push them over and then dig them out) or else pull them out with a chain correctly attached to the drawbar at the rear of the tractor with the tractor going forward. My current tractor is a Ford (New Holland) 2120 (not sure of any new Boomer's, but the 2120 was larger than any of last years) that I have had for over 12 years and I've pulled out many stumps/trees, but I would never attempt to pull with anything runing under the tractor. I could push over a 2" tree, but a 3" tree would be very challenging. That's what I use my backhoe for.

Even if you meant that the pulling would be done up in front of the tractor, it can result in a very tippie situation.

Also just one final comment on pulling. I have the top edge of my bucket strenthed by welding on a plate and have 4 "tow" hooks welded on. If I attempt to pull without the bucket just about on the ground it is very easy to tip over the tractor and it happens very fast. I also had the bottom "cutting" edge of my bucket made stronger by welding on a thicker edge.

Just thought you might gain something from my experiences.

Nebraska tests include gal/hour at rated load. This would be the maximum consumption. Ex. JD850= 1.62g/h.jd950= 1.838 g/h, Ford1510= 1.474, Ford1910= 2.236

Ronnie, I have an RDTH60 and have not had that problem, possibly only because of the difference in our soils, but one thought occurred to me. Are you keeping the grease zerks on the caster arms well greased so the wheels can turn freely?

Bob, Sounds like I use my tractor exactly as you use yours. You really should look at the larger tractors. I love my 4310 but you really need to go up in size. You will be happier and the tractor wont be worked to death. Good luck and Happy Tractoring.

Folks,I just replaced all filters on my new TC29.Nice tractor.I need to find out where I can purchase less expensive filters for this tractor.To give a example one fuel and one hyd.filter over forty dollars at dealership .Kind of hard to swallow.Does anybody know any cross-references?Thanx

Harry, I mow my lawn with a JD4100 (R4 tires), which is heavier than your B1700 and I have no problem with turf damage. My tires are NOT filled. You can always remove your tire fill and add ballast through removeable wheel weights, box blade, ballast box, ect... for loader work.

Ronnie--the gauge wheels on my JD belly mower deck have springs attached in such a way that the wheels always return to facing front. Were I to try to describe the design of this spring set up, my response would be too long to read. If you were inventive and willing to do what appears to be a simple modification to the wheels on your mower deck, it might do the trick. If interested, stop by a JD compact tractor dealer and look at the design of the spring setup on the gauge wheels. Mike S.

I thoroughly understand. I'm trained as a mechanical engineer myself. Got a TC35D with loader about 3 months ago. Great fun. For a real good time pick up the service manuals for your machine. I just got mine. Now I know how the HST operates. The manuals cover how things work and not just how to take things apart. Enjoy your new machine. Peter

Hello,<br>Ipurchased a new Cub Cadet LS 33 T log splitter,from the only Cub Cadet dealer close to me,and the only log splitter he had left,this guy sold the splitter did not,and would not put hydraulic fluid or gas in this new log splitter,I had to buy some myself!!And he would not reimburse me either!!This is not a normal practice for a Cub Cadet dealer is it?(maybe this dealer though) I sure got better treatment at my JD dealer when I bought my JD 4400 this summer.Any comments?

I've been comparing the prices and features of the 4600/4700 vs th 5105/5205 tractors. The JD info I have says that I can only use a 521 loader on the 5n05 tractors. If you compare the 521 performance on a 5n05 vs a 5n10 tractor the 10 s have higher performance. The 5n05+521 vs the 4n00+JD460 comparison the 4n00 win. Price wise the tractors are similar when outfitted with comparable equipment at least from the two dealers I have talked with I think jdlawns and www.4turf.com work out roughly the same as well. The backhoes from JDs are another story as well. The JD48 for a 4600/5700 is roughly 7,000 installed while the JD10A for the 5n05 is about $10,200. A big jump in price....

These are really tough choices between these tractors.

New for 2001 will be the 7360 with a powershift trans and a no-clutch shuttle. Also in the works, is a new model 7450 with the same trans as above. There will also be new loaders and backhoe options.

Harvey yes the rearend spur gears ground up into a fine shavings along with the left rear axle spline.This has happened twice on my late 1999 JD4300.And this past weekend it broke again.Only difference is this time it was the rearend and the right axle. 1) was at 25 hrs. 2) was at 50 hrs. 3) at 120 hrs.First two times I was pushing Brush (limbs and small trees, from a past ice storm.This time I was digging a ditch with the backhoe and started to move the tractor forward and it snaped.Just wondering if others have had this happen. I was just looking at a 1997 L2900, 4 speed manual trans w/Hi/lo, w/woods FEL and backhoe (don't know model #). It has 1400 hrs and is in good condition.
He is/was asking $17,500 and has been for sale for 2 months. I'm in Central NJ. It has 2 problems that I noticed (the seller may or may not be aware of these problems). The 3rd gear synchro is shot and the engine oil is at least one qt. overfilled. Don't know if the extra oil could be coming from a bad seal in the hydraulic pumps.
