Here are some Wix interchange numbers. For the Hydrostatic filter 19632558000 use wix 51664. The 51664 also fits the hydraulic filter on the 19-20 hp tractors using the 11812303000. I don't know what the mitsu. filter specs are but the 51664 is a 20 micron. Wix tells me they are working on a filter for the 19642509000, but it is not out yet. It's supposed to be a 57118? The fuel filter is a 33264. The air filter on the 19-20-23hp (10300511200)is a 46387. There is no crossover for the larger air filter. The oil filters are either 51334 or 51356. They have the same base but I don't have an exact interchange number.

I have a TC33D and just last weekend was tasked by my wife to remove some stumps from trees up to about 4 inches we cut this summer. She wants to clean up the area and plant nicer things than stumps and overgrowth. I have a "sub-soiler" (that is what it is called here in Georgia anyway) that I have been using to prepare garden plots. I use the subsoiler to cut the roots on both sides of the stump and continuing around the stump to get all of the roots. With the hydro stat it was pretty easy working over and around the stump. Once all the horizontal roots were cut, it was pretty easy to pull the stump and the tap root. To me, thats easier than chaining up and pulling the rear off the tractor or over loading the loader hydraulics to get them out. My two cents...

I was just wondering how a Hydrostatic transmission works. Is it basically just hydraulic fluid pressed through a hydraulic motor? Are there any clutches inside the transmission (other than the one on the back of the motor) that are prone to wear? Are there both clutches and hydraulic motors? Just wondering. My machine is a Kubota B7500.

Duane, I'm a little out of my element with some of this, too. I grew up with a dad who owned a service station and auto parts store, and in later life was a fleet manager for a few years, but most of my experience and knowledge is dated. Quaker State oil used to have the CC/CD rating for diesels and I started using it in 1982 when I bought a diesel sedan. I'm still using Quaker State 10W-40 in my gas powered car and pickup, even though they dropped the diesel rating in the past. I called Quaker State and talked to one of their technical support guys and he said it would still be just fine in a diesel, but that you would need to change oil more frequently. I've never used Pennzoil even though it's a very popular brand. I have a brother who has been using Chevron's Delo 400 15W-40 in big trucks; Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit diesels for years (in both Alaska and Texas) and I have a farmer neighbor who buys the same oil in 55 gallon barrels for his 3 big John Deeres, and it's readily available at Wal-Mart and K-Mart, so that's what I'm using in my tractor. Maybe there's something better, and maybe not.

I have a B1200 4WD tractor. I have not been able to locate any information about this model. The Kubota dealer in this area is no help. Does anyone know where I can get manuals or ROPS?

John I agree with you competely.When you go to a dealer and deal on a new tractor you don't normally mean a new year old tractor.I would really watch this dealer.Don't underestimate this guy -----they know exactly what they are doing. They don't stay in business making mistakes.As for people who see nothing wrong with this practice I think if the money were out of there pocket there thoughts would be alittle different.Ken

Some advice please.Background: Kubota L3000 tractor with 10hrs of use and original oil in engine/trans. The tractor is housed in a closed barn in central NJ. Winter usage includes monthly horse manure dumping and removing snow from a 500 foot gravel drive way two or three times a year.Question: Should I use a block heater? If so, what kind? Freeze plug insert, radiator hose insert, or magnetic 'stick on'? Should I change the oil to a different weight? Should I stop being so anal and find more productive things to do with my time and energy?Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Rich.... <br>

i have a NH 1520, 23hp the loader with it is rated at 800 lbs, this tractor has the same footprint as the boomer you are talking about, if you are planning on lifting 1200 lbs, you better have some serious counter weights or you will stand that tractor on its nose. i havent found anything that big to lift so far. it will handle a full bucket of limestone, and yes i have stood mine on its nose once or twice, nothing serious but the rear wheels were off the ground.

I have been told (by my JD dealer no less) that the Great Bend loader (subsidiary of Bush Hog) is just as good as the JD loader, but costs 20% less $. Looking at the specs for the Great Bend and the JD model for my tractor, they are nearly identical. My JD dealer has a whole lot full of new Great Bend loaders and a couple of JD models. Go figure. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, and I would but for a few details such as $2K extra spending money.

Roger, Thanks for the fast reply. I forgot to mention that the unit I am looking at has 1500 hours. Is that a great deal of hours considering the price. Also, a Kabuto friend said that hydrostatic drive is THE WAY to go. What is your opinion? Thanks!

The front oil seal is what I first suspected, but there does not appear to be any oil dripping from there. Also, the oil smells like gear oil, not engine oil and it is not a black as engine oil.
I will look again. I can get a better look if I unhook the from axle from the frame or pull off the side panel.

How much is the shop manual?

FYI.. The best price I have gotten so far on that configuration is $13500. But, I am in SC and the shipping would probably wind up costing you more. This is the configuration that I am close to buying. I will look forward to seeing your new owner comments if you beat me to the purchase <G>.

I operate a small children's summer camp and need a machine I can finish mow about 2 - 3 acres, scrape a bunch of driveway and road, move various types of fill around and, possibly someday, put a small (6 1/2 - 7 1/2')hoe on.I am looking at a TC29D (Hydro & a few bells and whistles) w/7308 FEL, R4's, 350 hrs in great shape overall. The seller is asking $12,800 and seems pretty firm. Good price or not? Good tractor for my needs?or not? Any thoughts and opinions appreciated

Just a comment on comparing 3ph and loader forks. I believe that each work well and each have their own advantages. In my case, my 3ph forks will lift more than the loader will. It lifts to 5.5 foot, which is enough to pick pallets off of most trucks. It gives a true vertical lift and carriage tilt--I didn't get the side-shift option. It also has a high backrest between you, the tractor and the load, which is very comforting when you've got a 1000 lbs. in the air. I think most loader forks also have backrests, but with either type forks, you don't want to be lifting loads that are higher than the backrest over you or the tractor. Of course, there is an advantage to being able to use the forks and the bucket without having to change them.

Since I haven't used loader forks, I don't know if the arms angle below the forks when the forks are lifted high. If they do, that would limit the reach in picking pallets off truck beds. I think they would have to be lifted higher than the bed, and then angled down, or the arms would run into the edge of the bed. With 3ph forks, the entire length of the forks can be placed flat on a truck bed, even at max height. Angling forks down and running under loads may upset them. I also don't know if loader forks are true pallet types the are adjustable in and out, and are hinged to fold up. Without the hinges, the forks can dig into the ground or jam into a truck bed when the carriage is tilted down. Without the hinges, I think I would have upset many loads or dug up a bunch of things. Without the adjustment, you can't necessarily match the fork notches in some pallets.

I imagine many of these features also are available in loader forks, and I think they're important features to consider irrespective of which type of forks are purchased. Of course, the cost of 3ph forks is greater than for loader fork attachments, but then I did end up with a hydraulic top link for the carriage tilt. Without the top link to use on my box scraper, I'd probably still be trying to finish this summer's grading. I hope some of this even contains some useful information for getting box scrapers out of pickups. At the least, remember the hydraulic top-link. Once you use one with a scraper, you'll consider the scraper pretty useless without it.

Yes, I have to do the battery cleaning chore this week when I bring the tractor back from our camp. As a reminder to myself, I'll note that a ground cable has two ends, and both are subject to corrosion.

MD, if you find that cheap source for 3-point stuff, let me know. I too have been looking from Lansing to Flint to Grand Rapids and for anything that looks decent is 5% less than brand new. I've tried auctions too, saw a 3-point lift boom go for 50% MORE than new! Saw a Bradco 3-point trencher, rusted cyl. and all for bout the same as new. Good luck, happy hunting (half the fun of it).

I asssume you are speaking about the lateral float position of the pins in the draft links when you refer to "float". Use your lift link pins in the float position for hitch mounted implements such as mowers which have ground engaging skids or wheels which will allow them to raise slightly to follow the conture of the ground. You would use the rigid position for ground engaging implements such as plows to prevent twisting relative to the tractor. To controll the minimum cutting height of the mower use the rockshaft position controll lever (3-pt.hitch controll lever). If your tractor has a rockshaft draft controll lever you would leave this in the off (no float) position. Draft controll is used for ground engaging equipment only. The top link sould be adjusted so there is a small amount of slack in the top link when the mowing deck is lowered into the cutting position with the 3-pt.hitch. Regardless of how you adjust the mower if it has skid plates instead of gage wheels on the front you will have some gouging due to uneven terrain and turning sharpley on corners to the extent that the ground is hard enough to support the skids. You will experience no gouging on concrete for instance, and a lot soft soil.
