I am 75 and I can safely say passing gas has become much more frequent than I would like, or those around would like. <br>

Really it is quite crazy that to be PRESIDENT the only requirement is that you have to be over 45 with NO UPPER LIMIT. That's NUTS beyond belief.<br>

In business as soon as you hit 50 the young wolves are salivating and looking to take you out at every opportunity. They try to mock you "Hey tell the guys how old you are! Ha Ha"<br>

In many large firms they have mandatory retirement at 65. But here we give the job to any one no previous elected office required, got money have at it. Here are the nuclear codes have a great day. Hey want to self deal in your own charity no problem, we all would if we had the lawyers to set it up. Nepotism sure fine with us, maybe have a family and friends sale.<br>

But getting back to being an old fart, now your hearing is not so good so YOU think maybe it was SILENT, your MEMORY ( person woman man camera tv) is not so good so you will NOT remember what you did, Oh the joy of being OLD.<br>

I guess if it was a dealer I would run not walk away.

$2000 is almost no money for a D3850. Have to know the circumstances of how it got in this sahpe. Elderly owner died and widow looking to sell estate? Most other circumstances a red flag.

So you are in a qunadary could lifetime best buy of the century or the world worst decision.

Sounds like a headache, but if you like to tinker you may be in nirvana.

Yes i was thinking about removing it myself or at least replacing it with a half inch round bar. I tend to use the mower with the chute cover tied back to allow better cutting and grass ejection in longer grass and also to get closer to objects on that side of the mower.
The down side is that I can hit objects with that bar and the result, as shown, is a broken and fairly bent channel section. With it just removed the blades could hit objects with unfortunate results. The JD mower has , what i consider, to be a design fault in that if the blades hit a hard object such as a stump or stone etc the deck sheet metal in the deck itself distorts and the blades become oriented at an angle and the cut is no longer even. I have had several times to remove the deck and panel beat the sheet metal so the blades spindle is returned to the vertical and the blades cut correctly. A shock absorber would be a good idea.
Consequently I think something needs to be there to protect the blades but I may weld in another stronger bar if i cant reattach the existing channel satisfactorily

If you do not get any confirmation, I would start by measuring the Loader frame and looking for the same mounting points on the target, and making some measurements to see that it clears your hood on the target tractor.

I replaced the plug the plug was really old but not the problem. It looks lkie the vent cap was bad, as if I loosen the cap the stall goes away.

I tried cleaningthe vent cap, it seems to have no moving parts. The yellow dome has a small pin hole in it. That is now clear after cleaning it. Under the dome there was an old disentrgrated foam filter, I replaced with a fabricated piece. On the cap there is a screw which seems to regulate how much air can seep thru the tiny hole in the black cap.

I ran it on the flat garage floor testing revving and slowing up and down numerous times. Seemed better.

Then I tilted it so the fuel filled the cap, stalled instantly. Hmmm safetly feature?? Probably not I have to swing it around to get it on my back so I think still something up with the cap.

Bad news is that Blower is so old parts are hard to come by.

Hello, it is most often caused by a worn piston in the pump, I had a similar situation, I dismantled the entire pump and replaced the piston and now it works as it should.

I just fertilized the lawn thinking exactly what you said the weeds are dead and I want to encourage the cold season grasses to strengthen while the weeds are asleep.

Well spring 2021 came and I went out and marked all the low spots with red spray paint before the grass started to grow.

The my wife started nagging me about hiring out carpentlry and painting on the house which was a challenge with the pandemic.

Yup grass grew before I filled the posts and paint marks quickly dissappeared.

A month ago I had another project to fill an embankment with 10 yards of top soil. So I had some left over an I used it to fill some of the pot holes using my knowledge of where I am bouncing the most on the tractor and then walking it and staking each spot with a snow driveway marker.

I just leveled each spot with a hand rake, while some deep none that wide.

The dirt I got while topsoil rated was mostly clayish, not really meant for leveling methods in this thread.

I know a supplier that has a better topsoil mix for leveling with tools. But I think I am fine for now and can live with the bumpiness that remains.

How many hours on tractor?

Mine the linkages down through to the Transmission the pins in the universal break and screws up the shifting.

Also there is a 2 step procedure to adjust the clutch and linkages.

JD 4400 clutch does not work in reverse

I inherited this tractor from my father in law. So I’m going by hearsay about the actual problem. However he took the two fittings that go to the top of the pump and out to the injectors and they rusted out pretty badly along with the two small springs. I took off the injectors, fuel lines, fuel filter and tank. I am going to clean them all out. If I had to guess I would think the injectors where the actual problem.

Sounsa like a headache. Can you contact the seller and ge the info you need. Some models use tubing other hoses.
