I have a weight box that I bought with my new and first Tractor a decade ago.<br>
<br>
I was under the misguided opinion that it would be useful to me. In 10 years it sits in the shed never attached to the tractor even once. I use it to collect various odds and ends as it sits, thats all.<br>
<br>
To be fair to the weight box I am sure it has its uses like using a loader in tight quarters. I just do not have that use where a usable rear implement would be preferred.<br>

I have seen over the years many projects like 55 gallon drums full of concrete, etc..<br>
<br>
Has the world moved on from weight ballast? And now all use implements for this purpose?

A little off the subject, what part of east Texas, I'm wanting to do the same thing, there's 120 acres here that I live on and I love rescuing animals, have some raccoons that lost their mother, but also want to have horses or anything that needs a home or to be fostered. I'm a few miles north of Lagrange. I have a Yanmar myself and have rebuilt it from the inside out, but a great tractor, was bought in the mid 80s, is a 336d so I'm familiar with the brand, any parts I need I can get out of Paige TX. Anyway I didn't see the attachment, but I'm sure there's a way you can get a hold of me so I can have a look at it. Have a nice day

Could you have had an impact that damaged the control block or the male stems. Once I had that happen to my tractor. The impact damaged the male connector ends and it was a real mess, I was able to buy new ones it fixed the issue.

Yep corroded piston could be an issue you may have to install the old pads to be able to get it to protrude enough so you can get a look at it

Thank you, thank you. You are correct! The was a block in the line to the front axle. I cleaned it out and all works fine now, thanks again for you reply and help!!!!

We've had good luck freeing up stuck engines over the years by pouring a little diesel into each cylinder and letting it soak for a few days, then trying turning it over by towing it fore & aft with another tractor or a truck.

You can put a LOT more torque on the engine by pulling it.

Hello, I am new to this forum. Googled 4200 clutch and this thread came up.
I have a 4200 That I recently purchased at auction in anticipation of purchasing some out of town property to move to. . It has 2nd and third gear shifting problems. I have split the tractor thinking it was a shifting fork problem. There is also a lot of black soot in the bottom of the reservoir so my plan is to get into the clutch and also look at the brakes.
You mentioned that you have the clutch adjusting procedure on PDF. Would it be possible
To obtain that from you ? If you had to build the tool might I get a picture or 2 of that tool? I am at the point of making the second split of the tractor and as of yet I am flying blind. (With many years of mechanical experience)
Any PDF of the transmission shifting mechanism would also be very helpful.
I know it is a lot to ask and I would be eternally grateful!

I had same problem - same tractor. I had to change the oil twice. I noticed particles in filter also.. That clogs it up. The hose change - probably had something to do with it. Maybe they reversed something. Or maybe they let loose the particles into the system. Flushing it out multiple times may be required. Also using the right oil is important according to Kubota. I had similar problem and did multiple flushes and cleaning the filter til it worked correctly.

well answering from the experience, washing a car can be done often but it might be seen as excessive, unnecessary and more work than is needed. especially if you are washing your car all by yourself and doing it improperly can damage it. even if you do it once in a week make sure you are not damaging it. car washing regularly or weekly once is not mandatory unless you are from a nearby ocean or salt trucks on the winter roads. most of the times i get my car washer service.

I bike just about every day, but just 15 miles on a rail to trails bike path. I have gotten lazy and drive to the trail vs biking to the trail and doing more climbing :-) But I still work pretty hard by putting in the effort through speed.<br>

I was wondering if you are still riding.<br>

I used to be able to climb most anything, but I am not sure whether it is my fear of blowing it via too much or lack of an improvement program that would get me where I would like to be. Or maybe just be happy with status quo ?<br>

Glad you were able to resolve this. Electrical problems can be hard to find, but this was a simple fix, great news.

I had a few things to get through when I first bought it but it has been good since. <br>

The front end had some leaks at the drop down axles. The dealer repaired fine. Did find out the correct seals are no longer available. <br>
<br>
I had starting issues cold. Added a block heater. Main cause was a weak starter. I had that rebuilt, but was still having issues. Bought a new one and it was fine. <br>
<br>
I have issues with the brake pedal returning. The dealer had that fixed for me. It has started doing it again. I think it was just in the linkage, but I haven t investigated it myself yet. <br>

My tractor came with the front blade. I wanted a loader. I found the 812 no longer available. I found that Westendorf was the only ones that will make one for that tractor. I purchased the Westendorf loader. I switch back and forth between blade and loader. Depending on season. <br>
<br>
I have the mid mount mower. That had stuck wheels. I had to find parts for that as Cub no longer had the parts. <br>
<br>
All in all this is a good tractor for me. I don t use it hard or a lot. It has performed well for me. <br>

Draft control will probably not keep your implement from rising as you describe. Draft control is used to do what it says, control the draft of the tractor. Draft control changes the position of the implement to reduce the draft on the tractor, or the amount of "pull".

Wikipedia list WD 40 ingredients as mostly kerosene. In the spec sheet I linked before I did know that low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbon was Kerosene.

45-50 % low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbon (kerosene)
<35% petroleum base oil (non hazardous heavy paraffins)
<25% aliphatic hydrocarbons (same CAS number as the first item, but flammable)
2-3% carbon dioxide (propellant)
