I believe it was the F wire. It was about four (4) years ago. No trouble since. Good luck.

My old Satoh Beaver 373D lower connector for the 3pt hitch broke. It is the part that is mounted below the rear axle and attaches to the lower part of the 3pt hitch. How can I get the part out? Do I heat and knock it out? Of course I will have to remove the rear wheel to pull or knock it out. Looks like there was some corrosion at the break point about 1/3 of the distance across the break. Any ideas or any place to get a replacement?<br>

I'd have to check with Japan on the tie rod end. There is not a kit specifically for your tractor. . I can supply components(cylinder, sensing valve, & proportioning valve) to use to install one, but it would require some fabrication. These components would be around $800. You would have to source hoses & fabricate a clutch housing mounting bracket & modifications to the steering drag link.

Didn't see a response on the limited slip additive other than the Deere product. Have some left over from a 94 Blazer restore.

Same CX with a squeaky brake. I did change the rear fluids last year but the manual said nothing about an additive. Just hit 1200hrs so rear drive has maybe 200hrs.

Use a multimeter to check for power to and from the raise/lower switch and at the relays. Use the resistance setting on the multimeter to check the grounds at the relays. Use a jumper from the battery to each relay coil to exercise them and use the resistance setting on the multimeter to check continuity across the NO & NC contacts. Use two jumpers from the battery to power the lift cylinder directly and observe whether it extends and contracts.

In fact, there are a lot of sprayers and it's not so difficult to choose the right one. Here is a brief review of several sprayers from different manufacturers. Properly selected, high-quality set of "airbrush compressor" is worth considerable money, so pneumatic spray guns, mainly used by professionals.

Nick, one other thing, if you have a harbor freight or something simular you can pick up a small kit of various sizes of O-rings. If my grey cells are remembering correctly, I think I paid about 4 bucks for several each of 15 different sizes.

Deere Bunker Rake gears are grinding badly, need to pre-load the shift to get in gear. I have the RPM set to spec, but the but the secondary is spinning at idle high enough to cause the grinding. Can I assume that the problem originates at the primary not releasing enough? I see that the engine is a FE250 which is a repower form the original FE350, so not sure if the clutches might be misaligned. I can't really tell visually. Wonder if there is a common issue that causes the clutches to grab at idle on Gator type machines.

You should be able to add ports by tapping into a "supply" port on the "touch-matic" housing and the reservoir. This may require teeing into lines (not always a good idea). You would need to use open center valves. I looked through my shop manual and couldn't find any details on pump capacity and pressure, but I doubt either are very high.

I put remote ports on a 1947 "A" some 40 years ago and, although it worked for some applications, it lacked both the pressure and capacity to be really effective; when hooked to the haybine I had the haybine header "float" springs tightened down to where it only took 100-150 pounds of lift to get it off the ground.

I heated it up again and pushed another tube of grease in her. Quieted down. I have not checked the belt. Thank you Yea this is a great tractor. Strong motor Loader. Everything.

Funny you should say that. I was talking to a fellow today who was saying that my town's JD dealer has a questionable reputation, though they are a large outfit w/ many branches (in different communities) all over Washington State.

Not sure the model number of our Gator but it is I will say about 14 years old. Think it has decal like 4 by 2 or it and only decal to indicate any model.But the transmission does sort of go clonk at lease sometimes when going into gear. The person who went over ours with me said it was a snow mobile transmission design and that is whey the engine must idle so low as if memory is correct you are engaging with no way to clutch. Hope have the reason correct.

Yes, same as snow machines I ran in Alaska. Centrifugal where fly-weights squeeze sides of the pulley together. The belt and transmission shaft are always turning from the drag of the belt. My idle barely ticks over.

Yes the starter spins mine very well. I do have to use the choke to crank when cold.Do not use any gas with ethanol in it or it gums up the carb and has to be taken apart to be cleaned. Ran a good bit of sea form and other cleaners through ours with no success. We had a JD dealer that was also a lawnmower dealer (no longer a JD dealership, they wanted them to go only green and their red products was the money, JD made a bad call there) and they have been great on the Kawasaki engine. Then only issue we have had is with gummed up carb and normal maintenance.

When I got the Gator, the carb was beyong gummed up. The gum had solidified into concrete that needed to be picked and scraped out, and even STRONG carb cleaner wouldn't budge it even a little. It LOOKS perfectly clean now, but disassembled still smells like varnish.

Wonder if the color of the ball could have something to do with it? They say their do not see colors or can tell colors but the yellow of a tennis ball may be real easy to pickup and a light color may not.

Yea I have regressed with high temp nano grease heated spinal hoping to bring grease to dry spot/bearings. I am assuming it has them. Manual does not show any. I am desperately trying to keep from tearing the front end down. That worked for about 10 hrs of operation. Got back on her. Same noise. It will all be just like new before this is over. I replaced the cylinder. Might as well do the pump and reservoir. I will fix it and shoot you a note telling you what it was. Might help you down. The Rd. Thanks.

As to the first post. The most common reason for a crack would be deadheading. If the hoses to the loader have quick disconnects & the hydraulic line after the valve is disconnected, there is no path for the oil to go. this creates more pressure than system is designed for. Usually it cracks the hydraulic pump or blows the seals. This is an open center system so it requires an open center valve. I can supply you with a compact tractor valve.My email is on the attached website.
As to the first post. Where suction line attaches to rearebd housing. Remove 3 bolts. screen is attached to plate.

Yep-

I have a couple of cracked pieces down low (one near the gas fill, and one on the other side in about the same place).

And my Gator was just used to run plants around on paved paths in a plant nursery.

I suspect as they age, the plastic gets more brittle with sun exposure, too.

I had a Honda 4X4 atv that in Alaska I ran everywhere in the bush, and even at 30 below zero, and when I sold it after 15 years, the plastic had not a single crack despite flexing like a Gator never has to do.

I suspect John Deere just uses cheap grade plastic compared to Honda.

When I sold my Honda, I got almost twice what I paid new for it, whereas I bought the Gator for 1/3rd of its new cost, so for me, I guess the JD depreciation is a GOOD thing-I can live w/ a crack or two.
