I installed a geothermal system in the house some 10'ish years ago to replace an aging forced air oil system. In my case I'm located in a broad river valley and the water table is between 36" - 40" below grade so wells were shallow and cheap.

Up until the spike in electricity rates beginning a couple of years ago it was a screaming good deal. Now it's probably lost about half of it's advantage, but that still makes it very cost-effective.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again and in fact am planning a hybrid of forced air and in-floor radiant geothermal and wood-burning system in the new house I'm hoping to start on this summer.

Yes Brendon, Rat Terriers are very closely related to Jack Russell's, and yes, they have a very deep-seated built-in hatred of rodents, even skunks.<br>

Luckily mine, which are the 'original' JRT's, now officially called Parson Russell Terriers, have skunks down cold and odor free.<br>

The skunks just amble along and don't have much in the way of vision, they don't need it, the dogs line themselves up about 45 degrees to the rear and side and just run at them as fast as they can. When they hit the skunk just behind the ear they clamp their jaws down and roll and flip the skunk coming to a stop back on their feet and shaking vigorously. The first hit and flip usually breaks their neck cleanly and there's no fuss or smell.<br>

Bob, without even knowing what area you live in, let alone what your soil conditions are like, any advice on what or how much to use would not even qualify as a guess.

But as a VERY general rule, a decent lawn needs an absolute minimum of 4" of quality topsoil, 6" is the accepted minimum for creating a quality stretch of turf.

As to how, if you're not talking multiples of acres, a strong young lad with a spade can dig and fling topsoil or triple-mix directly out of a FEL bucket around waist level. This method requires the minimum amount of physical effort.

If you give me a few more details, I can offer more specific advice.

Blowby can be caused couple by of things.. One can be you have lost compression in one or more of your cylinders due to worn rings and enlarged cylinder diameter allowing explosion exhaust to be pushed into the oil crankcase causing the pressure you see

It is laughable they add paddle shifters to to these econ boxes in the spirit of sportiness. there is simply no sport in them at all PERIOD.

Art power to the oto stops the moment you turn the pto off, but does not the weight of say rough cut mowers baldes then continue to spin stopping whennthe energy is used up and not doe to the pto shaft having like a brake on it?

I am right sure on my b2710 and m6800 those blades contiue to run for a little.

Mahindra is an Indian company. They assemble Tractors in the US, and guess since they made it to the worlds highest unit sales volume lately, must be the reason Kubota is comparing to them on the Kubota site.

They claim to have won a Deming quality award as well.

Time will tell I suppose.....

Ford didn't get to be the number one pickup truck for 50+ years by putting out junk and not doing any R & D.

I'm pretty sure they're aware that anybody who actually uses the truck AS a truck instead as a 'cool' version of a minivan puts a bed liner of some form in the truck.

We use heavy rubber mats shaped to fit the floor.

We have a few of those trucks, so far the biggest issue is the complaining from the guys that don't yet have one. ;-)

The BX is certainly a "real" tractor, it's just not a BIG tractor.

You have to bear in mind these tractors were not designed for large western style farms. The average size of a farm in Asia is 5 acres. That comes from the maximum amount of land 6 adults, 2 grandparents, 2 adults and 2 children could work with hand tools. However with the massive need for food and lack of men to grow it following the Second World War these small tractors were developed. To Asian farmers these are full-sized tractors.

The only big drawback of using these tractors in the Western style is that they were not designed with a FEL in mind. They have no need or use for a loader for anything but construction over there. Witness the broken bell housings on some rebranded Asian units a few years back.

When I was in Japan and toured one of the Kubota facilities I was surprised to see tractors that they had bought back to examine them for possible improvements. Several of them were well over 10,000 hours on the clock and still working just fine.

Found my problem a couple of weeks ago. Had power at the positive terminal of the battery but none at the other end of then positive cable. Removed the cable cleaned both ends works good for now. The cable looks like there is some corrosion internally so I'll probably be changing it in the future.

I am still in the process of completing the installation of a Harbor Predator v-twin into a Kawi Mule 2610. The machine is now operational, but I still need to adjust belt tension (aka center length) and re-install the bed. <br>

I replaced a very tired v-twin gas engine. The OE engine has a splined shaft, so I was not able to re-use original clutch. I purchased a new Comet 780 from Las Vegas Carts--easy to deal with. <br>

I cannot yet speak to the charging output, but so far it seems more than adequate to keep battery charged for starting. I am going to have to lift the bed about 3-3/4" as I am using the new engine's factory air cleaner and the installed height is about that much higher.<br>

A couple of notes: the HF motor has a 1" crank. there is a shoulder on the inboard side that keeps the new clutch farther away from the side case than necessary. I was tempted to free-machine (with grinder) this shoulder off, but elected instead to space the driven clutch out about the same amount to obtain belt alignment, as the driveshaft to front axle is very close to the other side of the engine. <br>

My initial impression of the engine is positive. It came with two extra sets of jets for high altitude. I measured, with a wire drill, the original sea level jets, and drilled out the highest altitude jets one-size larger. It has been my experience that factory jetting on almost all new EPA/CARB engines is too lean. <br>

The engine starts easily and is very responsive off-idle. I did not run it with stock jets, but saved them just in case. The muffler that came with the engine had exhaust pointing forward. I cut the stub off and welded that end shut. Then I drilled a hole in other side and welded a pipe, which I slotted with a cut-off wheel, into it. This seems to work very well, as the muffler is pretty symmetrical inside. <br>

I used a piece of 1/2" plate as an engine mounting plate. I cut slots into it, but need still to extend them a bit farther forward to remove a bit of slack in the belt. I will try to post pictures, as the engine will have to come out again to lengthen the slots. If I had it all to do over again, I might purchase the high-performance single Honda clone from Las Vegas carts. 26hp and a higher safe redline, and a much smaller package. The HF engine is pretty big-a tight fit. <br>

If one is replacing a diesel engine with a Honda clone, the cart people sell a pulley that mounts inside of the primary clutch that would drive an alternator. I will try to answer specific questions as they arise.

I know this is an old post, but i would caution on doing that. I among others have CRS most of the time, and this can become costly. Not to mention you could deadhead your hyd. pump

By looking at Parts manual, i think part #34029 3245(solenoid valve) is the one i need? Also, page 1-165 #23 is a relief valve. Can i turn this to lower arms after removing the acorn nut (lock nut/ slotted screw). I see that page 1-165, item #12 what does this do, as far as hyd. valve? Thank You for your time. Jim
