Boom mower with flail cutter head on it. Had bought a flail mower head for my 5ton excavator and used it on it but it was a little large for that machine on capacity. Came across an old mower that needed a new cutter (was a flail mower on it of the same size as mine). Had to make a mount for my cutter for the mower and pulled the valves off of it also as was using on tractor with enough remotes to operate the boom but used the pto pump on the cutter for the cutter head only. Made one mistake...in pulling the valves off missed the fact the relief valve was in them so ended up with pump and cutter with no relief valve. Worked fine till had a hunk of wood to jam the cutter and then ended up with busted pump. AND I MEAN a busted one. Split it the full length I think on both sides. The cutter had a step up gear box to drive pump and I was going use that set up and then thought go ahead and do that and when the gear box goes you will never find a replacement and could not think of a reason to not to use the pto pump and eliminate the gearbox and pto shaft.

Back to the BBQ resturant, if you have not been here since then you would not recognize Myrtle Beach. Growing too fast. Take care my friend.

Good advice Thompson. I wish it was easier to get to the engine on this model. It's raining again, so I'm hoping to get a look at the pipe connections soon.

I'm not sure where you are. I like Santa Rosa Diesel in N Cal. I ship them fuel pumps for overhaul. I've always been happy with the quality, price and promptness of their work.i do not have any affiliation with them except as a satisfied customer. I've never sent in injectors, but I have a machine that is due. If you use them please let me know how it works out.

Do you have the lines hooked up correctly? and or the electrical lines hooked correctly? If your electrical wire are switched I believe it could cause this

Fuel these days is so bad, any time I hear a story like this my comment is always the same, pull the air filter off and either give it a shot of starting fluid or pour a little gas down the carb throat.

The Ethanol will cause the carb to plug up, and / or rubber components to break down so fast that in just a month or two you have a clogged up carburetor.

If it starts or even tries on this method, just get the carb rebuilt and be done with it.

Always use either 100% gasoline, NO Ethanol, or dose it up really good with a quality additive like SeaFoam or Sta-bil.

OK I found the mount you mentioned but cannot find anywhere how to check belt tightness for adjustment? Can you please point me in the right direction? The mount looks like it could be shimmed to limit motion some.

My main concern is that the belt seems to loose, it is actually rubbing on the outside of the belt against the gator frame on the bottom and is very close to hitting the exhaust manifold on the top. The writing on the outside of the belt is being rubbed off.

Thanks , that was my next move, with every thing rebuild up to the steering wheel unit. I have the dash off and in the process of cleaning all the grease and trash off of the unit. I'll break the lines loose and if it doesn't turn ,i'll take it off and have it repaired

Sounds to me like your fuel tank vent is plugged. After some time it builds up a vacuum and cant move any more fuel. When this happens, remove your fuel cap, if you hear a swoosh sound, clean the vent.

Deficiencies: Buna-N can have problems with automotive brake fluid, ketones, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and nitro and halogenated hydrocarbons. While it is ozone and weather resistant, this resistance is not infallible but can be supported through compounding.<br>
Applications: Nitrile functions well in applications that have limited temperature and resistance requirements.<br>

-Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR)<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 300 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Skydrol, a hydraulic fluid, has a noxious smell and can irritate skin, and its corrosive properties can be damaging to equipment. EPR o-rings work well with Skydrol and other hydraulic fluids, as well as steam, water, silicone oils, brake fluids and alcohols.<br>
Deficiencies: Similar to nitrile, EPR is not perfect for a wide-range of applications due to wear and tear issues.<br>
Applications: The aerospace industry uses EPR o-rings in hydraulic pumps.<br>

-Fluorocarbon (Viton)<br>
<br>
Suited for: Fluorocarbon is an all around material that can handle a number of applications, especially diverse sealing jobs that involve movement. It is also suited for petroleum oils, silicone fluids and gases, acids and some halogenated hydrocarbons, like carbon tetrachloride.<br>
Deficiencies: Fluorocarbon is not recommended for Skydrol, amines, esters and ethers with low molecular weight and hot hydrofluoric acids.<br>
Applications: Fluorocarbon o-rings are very versatile, and features in many different automotive, appliance and chemical processing industries.<br>

-Neoprene<br>
<br>
Suited for: Neoprene can seal refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioner units, as well as petroleum oils and mild acid resistance silicate ester lubricants.<br>
Deficiencies: Finished neoprene products are often compounded with lead-based agents, which can be hazardous to human health. Additionally, some people are allergic to basic neoprene. In a functional sense, it is not very resistant to petroleum lubricants and oxygen.<br>
Applications: Neoprene functions well in refrigeration units of air conditioning systems.<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 300 degrees Fahrenheit. <br>

-Polyurethane<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 212 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Polyurethane features abrasion and extrusion resistance, as well as general toughness.<br>
Deficiencies: Applications requiring good compression and heat resistance would not be suitable for polyurethane.<br>
Applications: Polyurethane o-rings are often used for hydraulic fittings, cylinders and valves, pneumatic tools, and firearms.<br>

-Silicone<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -120 degrees Fahrenheit and 450 degrees Fahrenheit, although silicone o-rings have been shown to withstand -175 degrees Fahrenheit during short periods of exposure.<br>
Deficiencies: Silicone exhibits poor tear resistance, abrasion and tensile strength. Their poor abrasion resistance means they are better suited for static applications than dynamic. They do perform well with water, steam or petroleum fluids, either.<br>
Applications: High temperature fuel injection ports can use silicone o-rings.<br>
Temperature range: Between -100 degrees Fahrenheit and 500 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Pure PTFE o-rings are very rigid and hard to apply, but PTFE encapsulated o-rings handle surface wear well, in addition to exhibiting corrosion and abrasion resistance, non-permeability, chemical inertness and low absorption.<br>
Deficiencies: Like silicone, PTFE is rigid and is better suited to static applications.<br>
Applications: Examples of PTFE o-ring use includes automotive steering devices and paint guns.[/i]

FWIW - I researched the specs on the hydraulic fluid for 6284 Cub very thoroughly. I found that Mystic JT5 hydraulic fluid had exactly the same specs as the Cub fluid and cost substantially less.
