The rod you speak of is only for the gas motors. The diesels have a mount on the driver's side that is supposed to address the forward/rear motion. Adjusting it is detailed in the shop manual, but I don't know how much it helps. Diesel motors shake so bad normally that they can't be tied down solid like the gas motors.

Take the fuel filter of and check that the O ring inside the top of the filter housing has been fitted correctly ,then replace the Small O ring in the centre then replace the O ring on the bottom bowlthen replace the washer or O ring under the long bolt that holds it all together MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL GOOD and gently tighten the centre bolt ,it does not need to be to tight.
If that does not fix it replace the rubberseals on the ends of the fuel pipes,anotehr problem could be the filter inside the fuel tank ,remove the flexible plastic fuel line from the tank valve,remove the valve ,remove the small screw that holds the tap into the body and remove the valve from the body,remove the small nylon filter and clean out and blow out with air and a piece of wire,reassemble and refit the fuel valve to the tank,use thread tape on the threads.

Typically blue smoke in a diesel indicates unburnt oil not fuel. If the exhaust is spitting liquid of any kind that indicates something is not being burned.

If you have both blue smoke and oily stuff being spit out the exhaust that generally indicates you have motor oil making it into the cylinder. That is not good. It could indicate a bad cylinder / possibly broken piston ring.

Does the engine sound normal? Is it reaching normal running temperatures? Is it making normal power?

If this is happening while it is being driven I suspect you have leak in the exhaust system. If while sitting still then would try to extend the exhaust. I still would check for leak in the system.

Not sure our gator is same model but have you tried pulling it (the lever) up while depressing the release button? If that does not work makes me think something is come lose or broken. Can think of no problem with using a lubericant to spray now the lever around the release button.

One possibility is you have air in the system, check all hydraulic lines for wear and connections

So back to thinking 600. There are circuit breaker/ fuses up by the voltage regulator. the connections sometimes get rotten. They have little cap type connections and corrode over time.

Dennis,

Drill a hole in the fan housing directly in line with the shear pin hole and then spin the fan and shaft into alignment and use an extra long punch right down though the hole from outside the housing. A pipe wrench on the driveshaft and a block of wood to jam the fan works good for us.

I don't know about that unit in particular, most of my tractors are Orange not Green, but the up / down 3pth control lever on most tractors is a round rod that goes through the transmission / differential housing with a threaded hole in the end of it. The lever you grab to move the arms is bolted into that rod. If the bolt or other connection comes loose, the result is exactly what you describe, no resistance on the lever and no motion in the 3pth.

Get underneath the tractor, with the engine OFF, and have a helper move the 3pth lever back and forth and ensure that the entire linkage is moving, not just the lever.

My CASE DX25E (a close relative to your tractor) has the following fuse block: (From left to right standing on the left side of the tractor looking down at the split fuse block, forward to back)

15A Hazard/Horn
20A Alternator/Headlights/Taillights
25A Instrument Panel/Turn Signals/Fuel Pump

5A Safety Control/Brake switch
-- Empty circuit
-- Empty circuit

There is a separate 40-amp fuse (in own fuse holder) between the Starter and Alternator that protects the entire electrical system.

I can't recall if it will flow on its own there. If you have a rubber hose between the tank and pump then you can pinch it off. Spray the shut off at the tank with penetrating fluid and you should be able to work it slowly loose. Its always good to have this working.

It should be, I have a 336d and I think that was plenty, just start the tractor and put the joy sticks in middle position when you check the dip stick.

I am having problems bleeding the injection pump, and injector lines. I believe the air is getting into the system at the primer pump. Any experiences with this primer (booster) pump? When I pump, the diesel squirts up along the shaft, and pressure will not build. If diesel gets out, I am concerned that air gets in along the same path. The bleed plug above this pump does not fill; rather, I continue getting air and a bit of diesel. Most of the diesel comes out at the plunger shaft, as noted above. Primer pump may need to be rebuilt?
