if anyone can help me out on this tractor and you like to hunt i can put you in a deer stand on my property there are some 180 to 200 class bucks here, can,t guarantee you will get one but they are here i live in southern ohio.

I Google my tractor name and found you Kids, Y'all seem to know quite a bit of info. so I'm asking for your help....<br>

on the left front there is what I'll call a steering knuckle.<br>
It rest on a pivot point on top of the left steer wheel. It then connects to the rack n pinon. the drag link it bolted to the bottom of both steer wheels.<br>
Well it's broke tried to weld it because my dealer closed with out notice. That failed(didn't think it would work) I have no idea where to purchase parts. oil filters, air filters, and other parts. Like my steering knuckle..... <br>

I'm unsure of there being a oil cooler used but with larger tractors that is a common failure. Other wise your oil system runs with more pressure then the cooling so you do have a leak!

I am wondering if you can tell me where to find the drain plugs for oil, I think it is the first nut under the steering wheel, on the bottom of the body

the Hydraulic fluid for the PTO has me confused
I think the dip stick is behind the seat and i think the PTO drain plug is underneath the seat under the tractor

what hydraulic fluid is best and how much do i need
my brush hog fades down when i am mowing, and starts plowing dirt! not good!
i think i need to try changing the oil and hope that fixes that problem. fingers crossed

i have another question....do diesel engines have spark plugs? I see three metal wires connecting to the engine with big nuts that seem to have spark plug type things, and I see a little box off the engine a bit on the right side that seem to have more normal looking spark plugsspark plugs, three in a row

I have heard talk of "glow plugs" on old diesel trucks, i am wondering if the odd looking things on the engine are actually those...they look a little like spark plugs, but not as much as the three in the "box"

Do any other hydraulics work? Steering or scv? I assume you have independent loader control valve? I would start by changing the hydraulic filter, draining hydraulic fluid and cleaning the screen. You also could have a bad stroke control valve in the pump. Answer back with more info and we'll see where to go next.

I would have to agree with first post. if you have not voltage at small post with start button pushed check is you have a broke wire at your clutch safety switch.

I don't know if you still have ur problem but if so it sure sounds like the loader valve on the pump. Don't know what running out of gas has to do with it but I've fixed a few with the same symptoms and it was always the loader valve. Try starting it with the trigger on the wand engaged.

I have 4 cylinder 404 and the engine oil can be added in two places. The valve cover and there's a cap on the front of the motor half way down to the left side when sitting on the tractor (which is the easier place to add oil). The injector uses hydraulic fluid and I have a little hand pump oil can to fill it. I fill it by removing the little dip stick and shooting in in there.

I know this is an old post did you get to the bottom of the problem? I had the same thing going along all of a sudden the white smoke and spraying black smutt all over loss of power stop doing what you were doing allow the tractor to idle back to smooth but ot like running over 1,000 rpm.
got a guy out that had the tractor running while he was trying to work out the problem ended up with the ute parked next to the tractor covered in oily black took ages to wash off. Over the phone I suggested that I had heard on this forum somewhere that there were in hose filters, but wasn't trying to tell him how to do his job.
Apparently this was so and once removed the tractor hasn't missed a beat No more white smoke which is usually a sign that there is a new pope at the Vatican and no more black smutt, it wasn't good for the complexion. It was expensive having a mobile mechanic out, but at least in the end nothing had broken and worth considering for anyone that might have a similar problem in the future. kind regards Yozza

You may not need to do this at all if your fuel system hasn't gotten air in it between the injector pump and your injectors. Just try it now and see if it starts up. But if it doesn't, you may need to bleed the air out of your system. <br>

Again this is a easy step. On my fuel system the line leaving the primer pump goes up to the fuel filter. Then from the fuel filter the line goes back down to the injector pump. You could break the fittings slightly loose at any of these points to verify fuel flow to your fuel pump.<br>

In your case since you haven't changed your fuel filter you could just crack the line at the fitting behind the hand primer and unscrew the primer knob several turns counter-clockwise until the pump piston pops up. Then simply pump this piston several times until fuel comes out of the fitting you loosened. Then tighten the line back up and push the piston back down and while holding it down screw it back in by turning clockwise until it gets tight. Then crack the steel line going up to your front injector and turn the engine over until a solid flow of fuel comes out with no air bubbles. Retighten and move to the next injector and then the last one. Crack the steel lines at the top fitting not the ones on the injector pump.<br>

It will probably start when you tighten up the first one but do them all anyway.
