Check where it comes out of transmission to confirm that all of the driveshaft is OK with the fwd lever Engaged.

Once again, a symptom with very few details. In order for anyone to offer any suggestions, you need to provide some information. Gear drive or HST? That may or may not matter, but who knows? What else doesn't work? Gauges, warning lights, headlights, glow plugs? Have ALL fuses been checked? Not just those in the fuse panel. There may be one or two 40A fuses in the harness, usually not far from the starter, down low near the back of the engine. They can be hard to see since everything is black, probably dirty, and they have black plastic covers over them.

CORRECTION: I set the injectors at 3300 psi, range is 3250 to 3350. I work on tractors better than I type.:-)

Sounds like fuel starvation. 1) Try replacing the filter (easy & cheap). 2) Check your fuel lines for cracks or leaks allowing air to enter (also easy & cheap). 3) Have a look at your fuel cutoff valve (a little more complex - but not bad - and a little more expensive if you need to replace it). If it's restricted with crud or not completely opening, that could limit the fuel flow.

None of these comments are specific to your machine...

- If you disconnect the fuel line at the carb, does fuel flow out? (Do you have a plugged fuel filter somewhere?)
-If you disconnect the fuel line under the tank, does fuel come out? (some tanks have a filter in the bottom)
- Is this the first time you've run the machine in a while (months)? If yes, then it's likely you have a gummed up carb from gas that's dried out and you'll need to disassemble the whole thing and clean all the nooks and crannies. I have a quart can of Gunk parts cleaner that's over 20 years old but takes care of this in fairly short order.
It will be of use to have a carb rebuild kit on hand in case you muck up any gaskets or the valve parts aren't reusable. You will need the make/model of the carb and/or the details of the engine make/model to buy it. From what I see on PartsTree, they aren't cheap...

- Is the fuel bowl(s) on the carb filling? Usually it's on the bottom, but I see from PartsTree that the bowls are on the sides of the carb. No easy way to check this if there isn't a bowl drain. If the bowls are not filling, the fuel inlet valve is probably stuck closed.
- Are the needle valves & metering holes plugged? Again, almost impossible to tell without disassembling the carb. You can try moving the needle valves out and back in (count turns!) and sometimes this is all it takes.

- Or do you have an air problem? I had an ant nest in my splitter engine between the air filter and the carb. I wouldn't have spotted it if I hadn't taken the whole filter assembly apart to get to the carb itself.

So I'm having a fuel issue. I've changed all the lines from fuel to vacuum. I can put had in the carb, and it will run until the fuel is gone. I can see the filter fill worth fuel but it seems like no fuel is going to the carb. Any thoughts would be a help.<br>

The female connector housings on the wiring harness that connect to the headlight pigtails on the grill have gone the way of old nylon. These are 3-pin things using standard 1/4"/6.3mm quick-connect blades. No markings on the connectors (of course).<br>

I found a web reference to the Stanley PN 001-1726 on the headlamp socket/pigtail assembly that implied these were also used on a JD 175.<br>

with some help from other source trying to confirm this info before i dig in. injector pump was taken off with out noting timing marks. this is a 1987 taishan 30 hprse power diesel. talked with someone and here is what he said. on the injector the front line (there are 2) hold your finger on the opening and turn motor over by hand until you feel pressure. then pull gear off pump, pull top motor cover off and turn motor over by hand until both valves are open and then turn motor back 12-14 percent and then put gear back on pump and reinstall motor cover. does any of this make sense. thanks

rubber collar. Like you say I will see how it goes
onto the the tractor too. I have to have a new one because
my old one is worn bad on the top of the hole.
Will let you know what the new one looks like and will send pictures of it back side etc.

Well, it wasn't the switch. A guy let me test with a new one. Same thing. A loud thump/click every time I turn the key, then finally it will turn over and start. Still no electrical at all. Does the relay do anything besides the glow plugs on a e2004 and is there a solenoid to check? What about an in line fuse on a e2004?

Getting ready to install new clutch/pressure plate. Manual says to check release levers height using gauge #NH1300. This gauge looks easy enough to make , does anyone know the difference in height between the outer legs and the center tab? Tried two local dealers, no help there. Thanks.

No idea why I thought your tractor might be gas, brain freeze I guess. My manual does give decent details on priming but I always fill the fuel filters as full as I can, crank and then run it at least say 1500 rpms and it often will keep on running through any air left in there. A good note to know is WD 40 is very good starting fluid for a gas or diesel engine. Remove air filter and use burst of WD 40 while cranking it. Even if air in fuel system it will crank on it and keep using short burst while it is running till it runs steady.
What oil the manual says to use in front end not sure but if had option to use the same as in trans I would. I have a super duty manual transmission in Ford pickup and it uses ATF fluid. The clearance on machined parts is much tighter than years ago.

Do want to share a warning with you or two: hyd oil is running under say about 2,000 psi, be very careful with leaking injecting oil into your skin and cutting you. Also if you have a leak in that system it can drop your transmission level very quickly and give you a costly repair (I had this to happen). Also if not already covered do not run in 4 wheel drive unless on say gravel or dirt. On such as concrete or paved road can damage the four wheel drive system. The front wheels run faster ground speed than the rear wheels so the front wheels needs to be able to do some slipping. be careful and have fun. If you don't have a canopy on the tractor it sure is nice in the sun or rain or in hail. Do not play in lightening.

Possible ignition wires put in wrong position on distributor cap. A GM dealer did that to my car doing a broken timing belt repair. The mistake caused broken valve rods etc..<br>

Kenny, the pumps we use have an open center. If you use a PTO shaft extension you can run two pumps in tandem.
