I checked the linkage and all seems to be working fine. Not sure where the governor is located and could use some help with that.

I would try set impact to tighten, then loosen, a few seconds between, flip back and forth. let air build up completely and check that the adjuster is set to the highest setting. It could be that it was turned a complete rotation and 4 is actually -1.
While doing that, put your thumb or finger at the seam of the housing. if you feel it shift back and forth, then it is stuck on the seal or O ring.
Acetone will help break that loos but you will end up with a mess because it will dissolve the seal temporarily.

Changing oil and filter is about the same on most anything. Find the fill port and the dipstick to check the level (think it has dipstick).

One word of advice here, you most likely will be flat on the ground, if you dump that oil it will be big mess and not great for the ground or water. You know that but first time I drained oil for mid size tractor the amount that came out socked me and I lost the drain plug and well there was bare spot for about 2 years.

But my suggestion was let the tractor sit for a day or two before you change the oil and when you open the drain plug watch the oil very carefully and open it slowly. If you have much water in it that is what drains first. If you see pure water come out you have water in oil for sure and will cause issues with system running it. If there is water you need to find and fix where it is getting in and or use shelter for parking it.

Not breaking is the most important part of a weld I think. Unless on fuel tank then not leaking and not breaking both are important.

I have a 7060, with the 12 gear, and I had them install the creeper gear as well, I will be using the creeper gear for my rototilling work. Ilove the little tractor, love the features, the "E" PTO, as well as the overdrive in 6th high range. Still getting onto the whole Tier 4 re-gen thing, One word of advice the mechanic gave me is to keep idling to an absolute minimum, as that tends to load up the re-gen, and will hasten the re-gen modes. I have around 300 hour on mine now and it has only gone into re-gen perhaps 4 times. As well, the tractor is great on fuel!

Thanks for the info. It will be two or three weeks before I can get back to this repair. It will begin with the motor on the cutter to verify its specs and then to get replacement pump if my current pump does not have a simple blow seal. Will give feed back then. kt

These bolts are removed and gear rotated when timing the pump to the engine. Do not change if only replacing pump.

New Zealand here. Little 2 cyl with heat exchanger in yacht. Why is the fresh water pump so reluctant to come off(removed the 4 bolts- its going to shatter)? Are these pumps available ( not the jabsco pump)
