I ran into this recently, when one of my employees bought a small gas powered band saw mill.

Everything in the literature and the website shows that this product is manufactured by a company in the Toronto Canada area. But once he took delivery of the product he noticed that it was packaged as if it had been shipped along way, the documentation included with it and deckles on the machine itself clearly indicated that it had been completely manufactured in China and just drop shipped to Canada. When he asked the vendor above this he replied that the only way he could sell his products for the price he does was to have it made offshore.

I'd have to go along with murf's line of thinking. That's why I asked if you tried both speeds. My lever shifts easily into the 540 speed, but I have to pull really hard to get it to go into the 1000 rpm speed and even then it will jump out if I don't use a bungee to keep it up.
Sounds like you have a shift lever problem.

I haven't replaced the belt and clutch needs work, gears grind going into forward or reverse unless I drop RPMs down by pulling choke lever. We enjoy the ride, just have to watch out for moose.

Many thanks to all of you for your advice! :) Here's my plan:
1. Start tractor, let run for 15-20 minutes without using hyd. functions and feel for warm/hot components.
2. Run the tractor with bush hog until the problem occurs, then turn-off PTO and see if hydraulic function returns. Try shifting between Hi/Lo on transmission lever and see if hydraulic function changes.
3. Drain the hydraulic oil and remove filters, suction screen and filter relief valve. Clean suction screen and make sure relief valve can fully close. Reinstall valve and install new filters.
4. Replace the 3-pt. load shaft seals. Should I use standard JD replacement seals or is there a better after-market design available? Any special tools needed? How much shaft wear at the seals is acceptable?

Unfortunately, I may be a month or two before I get to this as I'm recovering from back surgery, but I will let you know how it works out. In the meantime, please let me know if anything else comes to mind.

I did some testing on this over the weekend.
I picked up a hydraulic hose, a T connector and gauge from Napa.
I first connected the gauge directly to one of the loader valve output ports to set the pressure relief to 2000 psi. I know this is 200 lbs over the manual spec but this is just a test. Then, I used the T connector with the gauge to connect it in line with the P output from the main Hydraulic block. This way I can monitor the hydro pressure from the pump while in use. When using the loader, the pressure stays around 500 lbs unless I try to lift the tractor with it or something heavy. When I use the 3-point lift, it starts around 1000 psi for a few seconds, then jumps to 2000 psi which causes the loader valve to squeal (since it's in the same loop). This is with absolutely nothing attached to the 3 point. I thought perhaps there is something wrong with the loader valve so I took it out of the loop. I disconnected the loader entirely and connected the P and N ports on the Hydro block as the manual states. I also moved the switch on the side from the "S" to the "O" position. I tested the 3-point again and it acted in the same way, 1000 psi to start, then jumps to over 2000 psi. No loader valve squeal though since it isn't connected but it was using another pressure relief bypass somewhere. It also loaded down the motor.
I thought maybe there is a mechanical bind somewhere in the lift arms but I can lift it myself with no effort.
Do I have a bad 3-point lift control valve?
Bad hydraulic cylinder?
Clogged up line or something?

Seems no one must go down hill with a snow blower. Has anyone gone backwards moving snow? I have and it's not fun. I use a turned backwards blade on a grave drive 1/2 mile long down hill. I use the front bucket now and then to get some of a 2 foot deep snow out of the way. I do not mind running over my own tracks. Problem is that the more it snows, the narrower the drive get. A back blade is just to hard to use.

I am looking for a snow blower I can go down hill with, turn around and go up hill. Yes, I would really like a front snow blower but you'll have to give me the money for it. So, the last answer is a pull PTO snow blower for my Kioti.

Any good ones out there?

I assume you meant you bled the system by using the bleed screw that's on the injector pump?

Now it sounds like it's time to check the injector pump solenoid. It's on the rear (rear = towards the back of the tractor; on the left as you face the right side of the tractor) of the injector pump and should have probably 2 wires connected to it.

If the solenoid doesn't pull in when you turn the key to Start and stay pulled in when it's in Run, you'll never get the tractor to run as the function of the solenoid is to turn the engine off by cutting the fuel flow to the injectors.

That sounds like a good employer. No doubt you are a good employee. You know this but bears reminding you, walk anywhere you will be tilling the first time. Look for metal post driven in the ground, large rocks if you have them there and so forth. Also nails or such for damage to the tires.

Hi Fishy,

While I was reading your post I was listening to one of our guys trying to start our spray mule--wrong day for spraying, but not my call. Any way it sounds like we have the same problem. (same engine) It sounds like a plugged idle circuit. If it's been sitting awhile, though ours hasn't, the corrosive (to aluminum carbs) ethanol/water mixture sitting in the float bowl can plug the idle jet. This is a little tiny passage. The different circuits in the carb all overlap to a certain extent. A clogged idle circuit will make the engine run leaner throughout it's operating range. I'd be willing to bet a good cleaning would solve the problem. Sometimes you can get lucky by removing mixture screws and float bowl drains and spraying carb cleaner into openings and blowing out with compressed air. Make sure you know how many turns out from full in the adjustable screws are before removing them. Note springs and such. Otherwise I'd pull the carb and do a proper cleaning-though noting settings still applies. I'll let you know what I find with ours.

I have a cub 7300 with this exact issue as well. I did adjust the relief valve in the loader control block just enough to stop the squealing when using the 3 point lift. I didn't have a gauge to measure the pressure but will do this later before using the loader for anything heavy. One thing I don't get is, why does the 3 point lift seem to put so much pressure on the system when lifting almost no weight. I currently only have a trailer mover on there which weighs maybe 50 lbs. It seems that the pressure increases greatly the closer to the top that the lift gets. Is this normal? I can see the loader hydraulic lines tighten up every time I lift the 3 point.

That's not good. I couldn't put in rubber sealant on the outside to help or anything?

Reason why older tractors especially the ones that are not made anymore like Long get to be to expensive to keep.
