Can anyone tell me the year model of my tractor? It is a Belarus 250AS, the serial number is 623561.

Its been 5 days - did you get your tractor fixed? My Grand L is a hydro 40 series for which I have a WSM. In the section on GST, it states that the change from 30 to 40 is adding electro-hydraulics to do the shifting but indicates the transmission is identical. If that is the case, there are actually 3 gear transmissions stacked together. Main shift is a 4 speed gearbox with 2 sliding collars, one engaging 1st or 2nd, or neutral. The second collar engages 3rd or 4th, or neutral. This is the part of your transmission that appears to be working to give you 4 speeds. Transmission 2 is the sub-range shift that engages either high or low range. Yours appears to be limited to low range only. Transmission 3 is main range shift. Yours appears to be limited to low range only. It explains that when shifting from 1 to 2 for example, the hydraulic clutch in the transmission is disengaged, then the shift collar is hydraulically moved from engaging gear 1 to gear 2, then the hydraulic clutch re-engages. Since from what you said everything works fine in the first 4 gears, the clutch and that part of the transmission must be working fine. Unfortunately from there my WSM does not describe how the hydraulics are controlled for operating the 2 range shift gearboxes. It describes the electric control as found in the 40 series. From there it goes into the hydraulic section and the 4 shift pistons. It doesn't describe the shift mechanism for the manually controlled hydraulics of the 30. From the descriptions and schematic, there appears to be nothing that would cause losing both the sub-range and main range shifts at the same time. That would indicate it is a linkage problem but its only an educated wild-ass guess.

I have an Agracat 250 (Jinma) 4x2 25 hp machine. As the hour meter is broken, i do not have accurate hours but estimate around 100. the steering hydraulic cylinder needs to be replaced as does the ignition switch (key lost). There is a 4' bush hog that is really well used and dented. the tractor is in average condition at best.<br>
Does anyone have suggestions on what price to put on this for a sale. It seems like I paid around $6,500 for the machine and mower.<br>

I do a bit of milling here at home. I've read a bunch on this issue, as I thought about doing the same thing at one time.

Milling with a drill is a very bad idea. The bearings in a drill press are not designed to be side loaded. Placing a side force against your spindle on a drill press will quickly destroy the bearings.

Milling machines are designed to take the side load being applied during the milling action. As the milling table moves from left to right, front to back, a tremendous side force is applied to the spindle. Tapered bearings (like those on an automobile axle) are required for this job.

For large holes....say over 1" in diameter.....you'd be better off using a metal coring bit. It looks like a hole saw used for cutting circles in wood....but the teeth are made of carbide for metal use. Eye protection is REQUIRED. These things make hot chips by the thousands.

Super slow cutting speeds are required. Most drill presses don't go slow enough. A magnetic drill is a much better choice. You can rent a magnetic drill. Fun to use, too.

Finally - Got it started! Took your advice but had to modify it a bit. Still was having a hard time seeing the output point so I used decreasing sizes of vinyl tubing into a small syringe that I picked up at the local pharmacy. That did it, the small amount of fuel showed up better in the narrow diameter syringe body.
It took a bit of coaxing but it finally fired off. First time its ran in 5+ years. Ran it a couple of times for a few minutes each time. It smoothed out by the third run and started easier each time. I even have output on the generator.

Now I have to fix all the fuel leaks. I had all the fuel system entirely apart with the pump change and I pulled the injectors out to unstick them and clean them up and it appears just about every crush washer in the system is leaking, even after tightening everything again (as far as I dared).

Anyone have a lead on a supplier for crush washers?

Mothballs in a crab bait cage work well for otters on boats but I've never used them for mice. One thing you can do is saw up some old 3"or 4" pipe into 2 foot sections, drill a hole in the centre and feed some aluminum wire through that is about 3 feet long. One end you make into a loop to hold some solid poison or pellets mixed with peanut butter and the other end you wrap around the tube once you pull the bait back in to the centre. This gets around the problem of domestic animals or livestock getting into it ( not many things can reach a foot down a 3" x 2 foot tube either way except for the things you want to get rid of. They are just as easy to set up as a trap and last far longer without having to empty or re-set them. The other thing is that the first thing that you will kill using these is the " scouts" ( Believe it or not these animals are that organised) so they can't take back the idea that there is food or a warm place to stay somewhere near. This means you should either leave the traps out year round or get them out before it starts to cool down outside. Also, if you have found out the routes they go on put a couple of these things along the routes. If you can continually get the scouts most of the rest of the group will stay away.

As for the people that want to do live release, I personally wouldn't. The things are vectors for all sorts of different diseases that affect people and animals alike.

It sounds as though you have adequate fuel flow and pressure at the injectors, so if the injectors are okay and diesel fuel is free of water and otherwise okay I would check for other problems.
1. Make sure all of the fuel line fittings are tight from the tank, fuel bowl, inlet/outlet at injector fuel pump and at injectors at engine.
2 Remove the air filter and make sure there is nothing blocking air flow inside the filter housing to the engine.

3. Make sure the engine is turning over fast enough for the engine to start. Even though the battery may be checking good as to voltage, it may still be too weak to start the engine. Try another battery if you have one, if not hook up some jumpers from another vehicle. If there is any doubt about the battery take it to auto zone or advance auto and have them check under load.
4. You did not mention your glow plugs but, I am sure you made sure they work and are using them.

This braket on right side too. I guess these will have to be welded when replace on right and left side. The top ones are the rusted ones and will have to<br>
be cut off and weld the new ones on. The bottom brackets seem to be ok.<br>
Just need new rubber mounts for left and right sides while Im going to be<br>
doing all this stuff.

thanks for the reply i have checked the tank thinking that was the problem have been working on it changed a couple of o-rings but didn't seem to help what we have done is bled the whole system right to the injectors and crossing my fingers seems to have done it ...this system has the vent and return hooked together kinda weird but seems air was circulating through the return and not being able to get back to the tank would fill the filter housing with air but tractor would run fine it is still working so far ..again thanks for the replies..dave

I think you earlier asked about the filter screen and it wasn't answered. Some tractors (don't know about yours) have not only a hyd spin-on filter that gets replaced, but a fine mesh screen that (after you locate it) gets removed, cleaned, and put back.

I just got this IH 444 tried lift arms out they worked got it home went to hook up mowing machine let arms down and they wouldn't go bk up but my wet lines work so do arms work off same pump any ideals THANKS

I have a IH 444 I just got it bfor I bought it I tried the lift arms out and they worked when I got it home bk it off trailor went to hook up mowing machine I lowed the lift arms and now they wount go bk up or work at all but my wet lines hook up works so does it all work off of same pump or r they drefrent pump for lift arms any body got an ideal whats wroung

I had a similar problem with my case 580. It turned out to be one of 2 cutout switches they use. One was under the brake pedal and the other switch was on the bucket lever control. Every time you pressed one of these switches the machine would stop moving. It took me a while to figure it out as to why my machine would not move. I got it running after I disconnected the wires going to the solenoid valve located on the right side of the transmission. On your machine that solenoid is controlled by many other factors. If you simply connect that solenoid to a 12 volt battery you can hear it click on and off. Meaning engage and disengage. Once you see what is happening you can begin to trace down where your short is. Mine was a bad switch under the brake pedals. The direction of the wires connected to solenoid does not matter plus or minus, that is why they are both black wires. By the way, I have since stop connecting those wires to the switch under the brake pedals and instead hooked them directly to the brake light switches located above the pedals. Now my case stops instantly.

If I mentioned this earlier I have over looked it but running a subsoiler around any crop each year will really help keep trees and other non crop roots out. You will be surprised how deep tree roots will go to get to fertilizer or water.
