The nozzles I have always and do run are spraying .4 gpm at 40 psi. For 17 nozzles that gives me 6.8 gallons. If I pick it up to 60 psi it goes to .49 gpm and that puts me at 8.33 gpm. Then I do not want a system that is at it's max ability for a sprayer for could need to add a few more nozzles for coverage or use larger nozzle to get the gallons per acre with some chemicals. Guess could put tractor in "crawl" gear. lol

I do appreciate the point the gpm per nozzle is not that much but there are booms here and we don't have large fields that was say 30 feet each boom. They all run electric controllers but seems no one who sells the units know the info on them. Well take that back, at least no one I have asked. kt

Ah that brings back memories to me as well. Was putting in telephone pole cut-offs for fence posts. Drilling my holes into a bank of sorts at the edge of the road. .. . otherwise flat lawn. The auger caught hold down under, and down she went! As you pointed out kt, faster than the clutch could be thought of. Tried with a bar to reverse the auger...no luck. Disconnected the digger from the tractor and there she sat. LOL
A neighbor stopped by with his orange, and we tried to lift the bugger out...no luck. We then REALLY showed the town folk how it was done, as the two of us muscled the darn thing around in circles to reverse the direction. Eventually we got her out and reattached, but not without A LOT of sweat, certain embarassment, and A LOT of laughs! Now if I want a hole for a post, I'll dig with my backhoe and backfill! LOL

Dennis that is not what I thought you were talking about. I thought you were talking about for an open hose with not end fitting, sorry.

I would say your pricing on those is fair. Now what size are mine? Until recently had no need for the color fittings or did not realize I did until it hit me sure would help on hooking up rear remotes so you do not hook the hoses backwards which still works but, well works backwards.

Hello something is wrong with the 4x4 on my 204c it does not go into 4WD.<br>

I took the plate off in front of the gear shift and as I engage the 4x4 lever I can see something moving down in the casing. The drive shaft moves as the tractor goes forward and reverse, but the front end will not engage. <br>

As I engage the 4WD lever it seems easier than normal,I still push in the clutch and let it out slowly and as the tractor starts to move is when it used to go into 4x4, but not now, any ideas what to do next? <br>

How did you determine it was going into the engine? The hyd oil lever is dropping and the engine oil raising? I would find it hard to tell there is hyd oil in the engine oil I think.

Its easy and you may want to order a replacement too. Its on the Right side of the tractor in the back of the pump housing. One bolt holds the end cap on holding in the filter. Mine was really full of gunk and cleaned it and it started working again but since putting an new one in its great!

Went under the tractor today. I just could not get the Hood to stay down thought it was me. the stub from the food that is supposed to catch in the latch is about a 1/4 inch to short. Once I unlatched it to change the oil is has never went back down. Using a Bungee cord for now but I gotta call the warrant-tee folks now.
Only Issue so far. Less than a month owning it hoping its the only Issue

Alright

I traced the electrical to those 4 wires on a terminal and started to look at the fuel pump.

I look more closely at the fuel pump and noticed when I tightened it down, I had hooked some wires and crimped them to the frame.

Looks like it was cross powering due to me not being careful enough.

Well, some general troubleshooting.
If you pick up on the arms, do they push down?
If so then the depth control may be on.
did something bump the arms up then they crashed down hard?
The I would suspect the arm or rod that goes to the piston may have punched through or cracked the piston (happened on a ford 8n I fixed.) Would have to take it apart to see.
If you lift, does it lift smoothly? If jumpy, could be that your pick up line has a pin hole and is sucking air.
This shows up as if the hydraulic fluid has water in it, but if you put the same fluid in a sealed jar, will turn clear and the level will drop when the air gets out of the oil.
The release control valve may be stuck open or open too much. This is the valve that slows the drop of the arms.

I bought a new JD4210 in July 2002. The reverse in the transmission was always stubborn and gradually got worse. It would pop out on its own and required manually holding the shift lever to keep it in reverse. It got so bad that I was afraid to get into a corner where I would need reverse to get out of it which limited where I could use the tractor, which I mainly used for pasture mowing. I had a loud noise develop and when they took the transmission apart the bearing for the drive shaft had disintegrated and had to be replaced. When I first got it back the transmission seemed to work better than ever, but then suddenly it became almost impossible to get the shifter out of the gear it was in, making it near impossible to restart the engine once turned off since it has to be in neutral to activate the starter. It has been returned to the dealership for repairs again, and I have heard some discussion that the 4210 transmissions have perhaps been having significant problems from other buyers too, but I don't seem to be finding the correct website forum to uncover information about this and what responsibility the John Deere company may be taking or be required to assume for the cost of labor and materials for making such a repair. Anyone else out there know about a website where I might learn more about if this is a wide spread problem and what the company has been providing in terms of corrective treatment and expense coverage for others with similar problems? Perhaps my information about this being a common problem for standard transmission 4210's is not correct? thanks, Mike

Could be the governor kicking the throttle up to compensate for the engine slowing because of hitting a difficult section (thick grass, or too tall).

Or a slipping belt or clutch due to thick grass resulting in slippage and engine speed increase...

been there, done that, spent a bunch of $ when I didn't need to. rules are no html posting but if you'll go to the search box, while you're in this forum, and search on my username you'll find what my deal was (mr. mopar started the thread). I did clean the carb, which needed it, but the root cause having to run with the choke was the cheap little plastic restrictor had fallen out of the air intake tube.

I put the bigger jet in but didn't really need it. good luck.

Took loose main battery ground to tractor frame, every things working like it should. Strange it would start tractor ok, but not have enough ground to mess up safety lights.
