Have you tried ebay? You may want to talk with a Massey dealer on where the hyd come from and find out the price for any parts you will need before you look for front end loader. I think you will find there will be a block that mounts on the transmission to pick up the hyd oil probably on top of the transmission between your legs.

I hope you have it fixed by now but more info is needed if you still need help.

What does "pulls plug loose" mean? Do you mean it pulls the pto shaft from the mower? If that is it your issue may be simple: first there is a pin of some sort that holds the pto shaft onto the shaft on the mower. It may be a shear bolt if a smooth shaft that is what you should find and it probably does not have a true clutch on the pto shaft but if a spline shaft then normally what you will find is a pin you push in that is spring loaded. You could also find there is a collar on the shaft you pull back to the pto shaft to release it. If the shear bolt or pin then replace. If one of the last two then try lubing the push locking pin or collar and check for trash on them. Often they will rust or just junk sticking to them causes them to "stick" open or locked. kt

A hydraulic block was available as an option or you can cut the pressure line & plumb the loader in series with the 3 point. I can supply a loader built for the 1030. I can be reached at parts at sheaftractor.net

Haven't looked at it yet as it is in next county and friend of a friend. He removed cable but something inside is impeding movement. Anybody know anything about this?

I got that figured out and am on to another issue I don't think will be so easily diagnosed.

When I lift my back blade or anything with weight on the 3pt, the tractor starts to shimmy/vibrate and the 3pt slowly drops. The arms will lower all the way when I park and shutoff the tractor too.

The trans dipstick shows full. I got this tractor from my grandfather a couple weeks ago. It only has 1400 hrs so I'm hoping just a full hydraulic oil and filter change will fix this.

Any idea?

I can honestly say I'm happy with my 404. I have about 200 hrs on it now and the only issue is electrical connectors lose connection over time. I pull them and spray with crc electrical cleaner. In a recent post a guy just bought from northern tool and said the tractor has foton all over it. He says they are now servicing them. I haven't called to verify that info.

gatoraider thanks for your advise. In reading the forum I was hoping it would be you who answered my question. It makes perfect since and knowing that might be the problem, I will take your advise and just live with it. Motor runs smooth, no oil smoke, always starts up. Doesn't seem to have much compression but still runs strong and will pull a truck. Thanks

Well, after a shower and supper I decided to start disassembling and removing the linkage completely, more than I did yesterday. I found a roller bearing that was inside two butterfly shaped plates on the right side of the transmission. Cleaned up the bearing then reassembled all the linkage parts and now the hydro pedal returns to center perfectly. I hope this fix lasts. At least I know how the linkage works and what it is comprised of.

I'm surprised it's a foton. I've got a 2006 40hp foton and I'm happy with it. One of the regular problems is losing electrical contact in the various plug ins. I keep a can of electrical cleaner and have to spray them every now and then, and the mostly the main dash and alternator to battery. I bought a backhoe attachment and I'm digging out the backside of a pond (60x40x8'deep area) right now. Went over to the neighbors and pulled two trees the other day. I brush hog, finish mow, plow snow, till, and grade and it does everything I need it to do. I'm happy to hear there's service available for them if needed - so far I haven't needed any.

The socket size needed for blade change is 1 1/2". 3/4" drive will make it easy to break loose the nuts. You will probably need a 6 or 8 inch extension to reach down through the deck.

got a 1975 case 480B Const King with G188D engine. Roosa master injector pump. used it about several weeks ago and ran fine. parked and waited several weeks then went to use it again..only starts on starting fluid. manual shutoff is working and fuel to pump. pulled the little side plate off where you time it to see if the shaft was turning and when i did had about a cup of diesel come out. couldn't find my mirror to check to see if the pump was turning yet. Is this normal or a possible bad pump? <br>

If the high pressure functions all quit at the same time, I would check the hydraulic pump coupler to be sure it is still turning the pump shaft. The splines can strip out and pump is no longer turning. If pump is turning, then you need to be sure oil is being delivered to the front pump. try removing the hose at the oil cooler coming from the top of the pump. Stick the hose in a bucket and start the tractor. You should get at least a gallon and a half in 30 seconds. If no oil is coming from the transmission, you wikk have no hydraulics. If you do have oil, then the main pump is bad. Could be a bad stroke control valve.

The more you tell about the 812 the more I realize the 601 was a very basic tractor. We have a pond and ditches here and with the 601 working with cutter there was tough. You had to be ready to push it gear shift lever out of gear so the cutter would NOT push you.

Sure did not realize the 1,000 pto had been around that long. One thing think you are proving here, it pays to know your options before you buy for some of those options can really make a big difference for little additional cost when you are using a tool.
