Just had my 2006 JD 4310 brought in to the dealer because the fwd was not working. I was told that the spline to engage the fwd was stripped and the repair is $2700. Does that sound right? They said it was $1200 in parts alone. That means $1500 for labor. That's 2 to 3 full days of labor?? Also, any ideas on how this would happen on a tractor with only 500 hrs? Thanks in advance for your advice.

If you did not fill the new filter with clean fuel before screwing it back on, you should do that first. After replacing it, locate where it enters the fuel injection pump assembly. Just a little, so you can pump fuel completely through the low pressure side. Use the little hand pump on the side of the engine. When fuel drips from the loosened fitting, tighten it back down.

Next you purge air from the high pressure side;follow the steel fuel lines from the injector pump up to the fuel injectors. Each injector will have a hex collar holding the line to the injector. Loosen each hex collar one turn. Crank the engine over while watching the hex collar. When fuel runs out, stop cranking and tighten the collars. The engine should now start.

To have it clean out at 20 still leaves a sleeve install for later! I am a CaseIH dealer and they were the same. The Kubota engines when needed are less money and often when multiple damage shows up their engines a good alternative. Probably about 1,000. difference as a ball park.
A lot of the tractor industry is going the full exchange do to labor costs to do a good rebuild. We see many quickies come in six months or a year later either in trade or for a good job. It is not to say they might not work but we have found that different pieces only have so many rebuilds and then they are out of spec.
In high school I worked in a machine shop boring engines, head work and anything else to keep engines running.

Be careful that it isn't cracked from the heat. I'm sure your machine shop can check it.

Hello all new to here. I have a 2009 620i with a powertach plow. Plow works great until it starts tripping the thermal breaker. used to happen every once in a while, now it is starting to happen alot more often. i was told it could be the battery running low on volts, so i hooked up a volt meter to the battery and the voltage stayed around 13.6 volts while the plow was running. so i tested the voltage on each side of the breaker, side closer to the battery always stayed above 12. the other side would drop down to 9 volts and that when it would trip. why is that? is it faulty? can i jump out the breaker to see if it draws the battery down? Thanks for your responses.

I know it's been some time on this topic but I wanted to post back that the issue was the ignitor. I went out last month and sorted it out for him. The machine has a new style motor installed. Although the motor was purchased on ebay and the number did not cross in a JD parts book, we were able to get the right coil.

My Model 620i,XUV, gas, 4X4, Diagnostic Warning Light flashed occasionally while running. The Gator seems to run OK. The owner's manual doesn't discuss what to do if the light illuminates. My question is when should I be concerned? Is there any technical data that an owner can refer to? Thanks.<br>

The T25A is the same as the 250.

Did you replace the injector pump or just the primary pump? Have you bleed the system? Make sure that you move the hand throttle until you see the foot pedal move down some. If that doesn't help the check to see if you have fuel to the injectors. I crack the lines at the injectors, place the throttle to full, pull out the decompression lever and then turn the engine over. You should have fuel coming out of the nuts, may have to crank a little longer if it has not run in a while. When you have fuel coming out then tighten the nuts. If you have fuel there then it should start.

I have a belarus 250 as tractor it will not start we put new fuel pump new batteries new glow plugs and still will not start could it be the start it's getting fuel it cranks but will not kick over

Have you bleed the fuel system? You can unscrew the cap on the hand plunger and pump it until you feel resistance. That should prime the system. When starting the tractor, move the hand throttle until you see the foot peddle go down a little. If you do not do this then the fuel may be cut off, remember this is how the engine is stopped.

Hope this picture helps. Remember this solenoid gets it's ground from the starter button....NOT the mounting bracket of the solenoid.

My records say this is a NAPA ST85 ungrounded solenoid. The numbers on the side of it are 12v Echlin 1301

I talked to friend who works at a local truck tire shop about foam filling. He said he didn't think anyone local was doing foam anymore, and from what he remebers they charged by the pound. He didn't think it was cheaper than fluid filled, but you can run them bare. He said the foam they used was spungy like a superball so the ride wasn't hard like you would think, but was real bear when it did need changed. They used it a lot on mine equipment around here.

Most tires I just hit lightly with my knuckles and you can tell when you get to the air! Same as with the mallet but I don't always have one with me.

Your right grounds frozen solid! I put it together today and filled the gear boxes and greased the bearings and shafts. I waited for it to warm up a little before starting and it took longer than expected - ran out of daylight to hook up and run it. That will be another day.
