You may have a bad battery cable, or a very poor connection at one on the battery cable terminals.

If it's been a few years since you last changed your battery cables, you may consider doing this.

A faulty battery cable can still allow a small amount of current to pass through it. You may have enough current to operate your starter solenoid, lights, etc. A starter, on the other hand, requires a huge amount of current. Broken or corroded wire strands in a battery cable simply won't allow enough current to flow.

When checking your battery cables, please don't forget to check the frame grounding point. Every connection point must be good in order to allow enough current to flow.

The clicking you hear could be the fuel solenoid, or possibly the starter solenoid.......maybe even both. It isn't uncommon to have a small amount of power available from the battery even with very bad electrical connections.

I am purchasing a 2001 TC33D (one owner) from an older gentleman. Two issues concern me. First: he used the glow plug to start it in 80 degree weather. Is that normal or a problem? Second: The tilt wheel feature will not lock the steering column in place. Any help on these two is greatly appreciated.

Anyone have a link to a diagram showing how to access the hydraulic filters on the 250AS? I read somewhere you remove the seat on tractor, but looking at it now in the daylight, I don't see any way that I will be able to access the tank from the top like I thought, much less get in that tank to retrieve the dipstick.<br>

The only place on the hydraulic tank I feel bolts (can't see them because I haven't removed the seat yet) is on the side towards the front of the tractor. Is this where you access the hydraulic tank on your 500 series?<br>

Looking for a repair manual or schematic now (in Russian of course). Fortunately my wife is a translator. If I find it I will post the file. Can't believe no one has scanned and shared a Service or Repair manual for these, but I guess these tractors aren't very popular.<br>

Your 930 is a standard tread wheat land tractor. I don't think three point hitches were ever offered on standard tread models.
Standard tread models, in any brand weren't meant to be used like row crop models were, they were meant for drawbar work only.

Assume you have check the fluid level and it is fine. Not many options there and not the one to give best info but most likely a lift seal blew at least part the way and oil is leaking past it. The greater the load the faster it fails.

My best guess would be that the original problem was related to a blown head gasket, which could easily allow engine coolant to enter the cylinders.

Over a period of time, water in a cylinder will cause the pistons to rust and freeze to the cylinder walls. This is referred to as being a "stuck" engine.

As Murf correctly pointed out, this is not always a cause for RIP for the engine. It is possible that the engine can be saved.

Remove the fuel injectors and pour a 1/4 cup of kerosene into each cylinder. plug the injector ports with a rag just to keep any dirt from getting in. Let it sit like this for about a week. After a week or more has passed, place a wrench on the crankshaft and attempt to turn the engine over. Work the wrench in both directions in very small amounts of movement, until the engine begins to turn freely. Once the engines begins to turn over by hand, use the starter to spin the engine over a few times. This will force any excess kerosene out of the injector ports. You'll want to stand clear of the injector ports, and make sure that you have a loosely draped rag over them to catch and absorb the excess kerosene.

If you can get the engine to spin over, it might then be time to tear the heads off and replace the head gaskets. At that time you'll also be able to inspect the condition of the cylinder walls.

Thanks for your reply. If you don't believe there is anything wrong with the pump I'll put it back on tomorrow change the filter and put my fluid back. I'll let it run without the roller attached and see if it still get hot andif it ddoesn't then I may have a problem somewhere else. Something that I did forget to put in my first post was when I opened the gate on theroller before the pump sstarted getting hot it was very slow lifting. I tried both remotes and it was the same way on both sides. I guess I should have said that the first time but I wasn't thinking. Thanks for your help. All is appreciated.

On some models with a single rear remote, that flow control valve doubles as a diverter valve. If you have a fitting that comes out of the left side of the sump and makes a 90 degree turn rearward, that's for a single remote. Its primary function is for dump trailers; hence a single line. Pump pressure lifts the trailer bed, gravity lowers the bed and at the same time pushes the fluid back to the sump through the same pipe. Others have a separate diverter; a hex head control valve on the left side of the sump. Sounds like yours may be the former. And you can one or the other, but not both at the same time. Turn it one way and you have variable flow control, turn it the other way and all flow is diverted from to the remote. <br>

Wonder if RMO is rear mowing option?
I have looked at Massy's web page on the 2500 lawn tractor and it does not give much info.

Did it use to operate different than this and now is not staying on? If so my guess is there is a safety switch that has gotten bumped or piece of trash affecting it. Those are totally guesses. Do you have a manual? what does it say about the operation of this switch?

We have a 4 by 4 gator and think the battery may be little larger than that. Then ours is only a 7 hp engine so not near as large as mower engine is. The batter box size will give some good indication also.
