There might be a little gravity flow. But if the tractor's not running, the pump's not turning. When the pump's not turning, there's no pressure. To staunch gravity flow, try to get the open end above sump level.

The electric over hydraulic are really hard to diagnose. If the switch & wiring are good, the end of the solenoid should be magnetic. Many of the solenoids have a hole in the end through which a nail can be pushed to activate the valve.

Hi, well, I had to go around the world to get the part number off this solenoid, but got it and ordered it....should be in next week. Hopefully, this will correct the starting issue....will keep you advised.

I am looking at an add for a 6x4.<br>

It has not info on year or engine but says the e-brake does not work.<br>

Does this mean it crawls forward in gear at idle or when in neutral?<br>
<br>
Is this an easy fix or something internal to the tranny?<br>

Are we talking a couple hundred or $1k to fix?<br>

I have looked at a couple of Trail Gators and the serial numbers are not in the range as defined on Deere.com<br>

In one instance the seller said a dealer told him it was a 2002 but the serial number "W006X4X0xxxxx" put it in 1999.<br>
<br>
The list from the Deere web site lists trail gators as "VG06X4X20xxxx".<br>
<br>
As I look at more ads I see many Trail Gators with serial numbers starting with W006X4X so are most Trail Gators serialed with the regular ones of are the early ones with a VG0X64X serials somehow different?<br>

Thanks Joel for the kind words. You are so right when you said "It's amazing how slow a person can go with the hydro transmission when at full throttle." I am like you in that I have found this ability to easily move super slow when the need arises, to be one of the most helpful features of the HST. Boscos you are also on target where you say "Until you use an HST it is hard to grasp just how beneficial it is, particularly in tight quarters."<br>

Here is an example of how moving very slowly, utilizing the HST abilities, has really helped me. Yesterday morning (June 12th) I spent several hours cleaning out two covered shelters where I keep rolls of hay in the winter for my cows to eat. There was a bed of old rotted hay that had accumulated over the winter months, that needed to be removed. It was easy to clean out one shelter. The space was open enough such that I could get in easy, and dislodge the bed of rotten hay with my all purpose plow, and then pick up the loosened mess, and remove it with the front end loader, without much difficulty. The ability to move slowly and deliberately really helped, since I was working in and around a some what confined space. <br>
<br>
The second shelter was a different story! It was smaller in overall width, and length. There is a small narrow fence about six and half feet wide, and maybe fifteen feet long, with a gate on it, around this location. It was setup this way so I could allow goats, and my younger calves to get in and eat hay without being pushed aside by my older cows. The opening to the actual shelter was a few inches short of six feet wide. The FEL on my L3240 is six feet wide. This meant that I could not get the front end loader, or the rear tractor tires into the open space. I barely had room enough to back my all purpose plow attached to my L3240 through the narrow fence, and into the shelter opening where the rotten hay was at, to begin the process of loosening the mess up so it could be removed. This was a case where the ability to move really slow, was a true necessity. I was able to dislodge, and very slowly pull the rotted hay out of the shelter with the all purpose plow. It took me longer, and required a few extra steps since in this case I had to also use a pitch fork some to get the rotted hay cleaned out in the parts of the enclosure that the all purpose plow could not reach. Once it was outside the shelter I could then use the front end loader to finish the removal process. <br>

In years past I had to use a pitch fork to dislodge the old hay, and then use the pitch fork again to throw the mess over the fence as I loaded the dislodged hay onto a trailer to haul it off. Then I had to unload the old hay from the trailer, again manually using the pitch fork. I am getting tired just thinking about it!! <br>

Again fellas, this is a function of flow control. What permits the rear lift to lower - engine running or not - is hydraulic fluid returning to the sump. The flow control knob controls that rate of return, hence the rate of fall. That said, O-rings/seals are subject to wear. It's not unusual in older tractors that - even with the flow control fully closed - for implements to slowly drop. It's due to hydraulic fluid leaking past bad seals and returning to the sump.

Hi.. I am having a big problem with a 2002 LONGTRAC 360 DTC tractor. Underneath the gearbox of the Tractor there seems to be a 12 mm hole without any threads for any screws. Some Fluid seems to be leaking from the hole... I have attached 2 pictures of the hole. Can someone please help.. I need to know how to clog this and with what? There is nothing on it in the manual. Hi.. I am having a big problem with a 2002 LONGTRAC 360 DTC tractor. Underneath the gearbox of the Tractor there seems to be a 12 mm (1/2 an inch) hole without any threads for any screws. Some Fluid seems to be leaking from the hole... I have attached 2 pictures of the hole. Can someone please help.. I need to know how to clog this and with what? There is nothing about it in the manual.<br>

you are correct, if i dont use any starting fluid, the engine will not start nor will it even show any sign of it trying to start.

if i continue to crank it, and not use any starting fluid, it will puff out grey smoke.

i agree in most cold weather diesels should start. i checked the antifreeze level, and it doesnt change. stays the same level. so head gasket and cracked head might be out. when the engine is running, there is no lack of power and no miss is detected nor any change in the exhaust such as a extra puff of smoke.

I can't think of why a cadet dealer that sold compacts couldn't get you parts. Only some parts would be the same as other makes.

Just talked to Kubota service manager. $4 plastic plug held in by sealant. Apparently, will pop out if tranny vent becomes plugged and pressure builds in trans.

Go straight to the source for parts. Dealers just don't have enough volume to know all they should to be able to advise you properly in a lot of cases.

I've had several people tell me good things about a place up in Wisconsin, they apparently have the biggest inventory of Belarus parts in North America. Their website is "belarustractorstore" dot com.
